I was working overtime and got late, so when I met up with my husband at a certain Italian restaurant, it was unexpectedly closed. Disappointed, we went to this nearby restaurant instead. I ordered the lamb sag curry as usual, with zero spiciness level. Since I'm on a diet, I asked for less white rice instead of naan. My husband ordered the shrimp curry. When the dishes arrived, we were surprised. They drew a face on the curry - so cute! And when we tasted it, we were surprised again. It seemed like the flavor had changed. The spices were more subtle than before, and there was a strong sweetness resembling coconut milk, making the curry milder and more mellow. Even my husband, who ordered level 5 spiciness, said, "It's sweet." Maybe the chef has changed? The chunks of lamb in the curry were delicious.

The chain restaurant in Ebetsu, which has a strong momentum in expanding multiple stores. I visited during lunch on a weekday and was greeted by friendly female staff. There are a few parking spaces next to the store, and the inside of the store has plenty of seating. Soup Curry Set: 1,050 yen, surprisingly hot level 4, served piping hot in a clay pot! The soup is a chicken broth-based spice blend with influences from India and Nepal. It has a strong umami flavor and refreshing use of spices that seem to cater to the Japanese palate with its own originality. The lack of the usual cheap and dry parsley flakes was also good. The ingredients, while having a local influence, are well thought out, plentiful, and satisfying. The chicken was a bit tough, possibly needing more stewing, but overall, the curry itself was delicious and satisfying. The option to have half Turmeric Rice and half White Rice was innovative and interesting, and the salad was not the typical southern-style and did not have orange-colored onions, which was also appreciated. The reasonable pricing also adds to the appeal, showing that this chain is well-received. However, I wonder if this chain can reach the Sapporo area? If it does, it's the real deal.

My favorite curry restaurant is Asa Eniwa store. Today, I had the special Keema Mushroom curry with 0 spiciness level. I also ordered a chai as a set beverage. The curry here is always delicious, with a rich flavor and plenty of ingredients. Although I want to try the various side menu items, I always end up getting full just from the curry and naan.

My husband wanted to eat Nan Curry, so we came here. I visited once when it first opened, but it's been a while since then. The lunch set with unlimited Nan for 950 yen is a great deal! However, I was curious about the Green Coconut Nan Curry advertised on the flyer, so I chose the Ebetsu set for 1300 yen today. The curry options were Chicken Sag Curry and Vegetable Curry, both of which I love. I chose zero spiciness. It comes with something like Zangi, but it's too many calories for me, so I let my husband eat it. The set includes a chai drink for an additional 100 yen, which is a nice touch. The Green Coconut Nan is delicious - soft and slightly sweet. The curry is also very tasty! I think this Nepalese curry restaurant is the best among the ones I've tried. The Vegetable Curry had plenty of vegetables in it. The portion was generous, so I had to eat it quickly before getting too full. I'm stuffed now. Ah, it was so delicious! My husband had seconds of Nan. They were huge! There may be many people heading to Ebetsu for the Flower Festival, but if you love Nan Curry, please stop by here. The service seems sincere, and the overall impression is great.

It's a place in Eniwa City, located in Sakaecho along the old National Route 36. As always, please check the exact location on the map on Tabelog. While driving along the old National Route 36, I noticed that the place that used to be a previous Indian curry restaurant has now become another Indian curry restaurant, so I decided to visit the new place. I parked my car in the parking lot next to the restaurant and headed inside. The interior remained the same as before. I sat at the available counter seat and checked out the lunch menu. This time, I ordered the basic A set with Spicy Chicken Curry at spice level 2, and a lassi for the 100 yen drink option. The food arrived in about 4-5 minutes. The naan was quite large, and the salad was also included. The Spicy Chicken Curry had a nice level of spiciness and the chicken inside was tender and large. The naan was soft with a good amount of oil and a light saltiness. The salad was mainly cabbage with finely chopped vegetables and the familiar orange dressing found in Indian curry restaurants. The lassi was a good choice for the drink at only 100 yen. I enjoy Indian and Nepalese curry a few times a year, so I will definitely visit this place again when the mood strikes.

The interior of the shop has a foreign atmosphere with exotic music playing and the staff are also foreigners, so it feels like being on a trip abroad. It's a Nepalese curry restaurant. I haven't been to Nepal before, but I ordered Lunch B for 850 yen, cheese naan (you can get a regular naan as a refill), salad, and a choice of curry from 10 varieties. You can also choose the spiciness level, but I didn't know how spicy it would be so I chose level 1. I chose the shrimp curry. I also ordered a mango lassi for 350 yen, which came with a cute straw. The portions were generous, and the cheese naan had plenty of cheese with a chewy texture. The shrimp curry was rich in flavor with a mild spiciness. I felt quite full and couldn't eat the refill naan. On my way out, I glanced at the menu board outside and saw "Baba's Zangi" (lol). I wonder what "Baba" means in Nepali (lol).

Today's lunch was at "Dining Bar Asa" in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido. This new restaurant opened in April and is known for its Indian and Nepalese cuisine. The menu is similar to other branches, but this one offers a wider selection of alcoholic beverages, hence the name "Dining Bar Asa." I ordered the Modi set, which includes a cheese hamburger, vegetable curry, chicken curry, salad, and a choice of naan or rice. The hamburger was delicious and the curries were tasty as well. However, the cheese on the hamburger had hardened by the time I returned to my seat after a work call. Overall, the food was good, but I think naan would have been a better choice than rice. If you understand the reference in the title "Asa! Nosebleed Boo," then you are definitely over 50 years old.

A new spice curry restaurant has opened in the Minami Ward of Sapporo. Despite hesitations, the writer was able to convince his wife to visit the restaurant, only to find the parking lot full. On the way back, they attempted to visit a cafe but found it crowded as well. Finally, they arrived at the Indian-Nepalese curry restaurant where they were the only customers at 2 PM. The writer ordered the Spicy Chicken Curry, which turned out to be flavorful and spicier than expected. The dish was served with a large naan bread, and both the writer and his wife enjoyed the unique and intense spiciness of the curry.

I revisited the restaurant because I wanted to try their spare rib soup curry, which caught my attention during my first visit. It's rare to find a place that offers spare ribs in soup curry, and the meat around the bones is delicious. Although I had stopped eating soup curry from Indian/Nepalese curry restaurants because they all seemed to have a similar taste, I learned from the owner of an Indian restaurant in Shinjuku that the combination of spices used in each dish determines the unique flavor, similar to how different dashi or miso can create varied tastes in Japanese miso soup. Even though Indian/Nepalese curries may seem similar, the subtle differences in spice combinations result in distinct flavors. I arrived around 12:40 and there were no other customers. It seems people are still cautious about dining out on Sundays. I ordered the level 3 spiciness, while my wife, who can't handle spicy food well, ordered level 1. The cooking time was surprisingly long, about 15 minutes. The curry wasn't as spicy as expected, so I added some chili pepper from the table. The spare ribs were delicious, especially when eaten by hand. After the meal, we enjoyed the lassi from the set menu, which allows you to choose your favorite soft drink for a reasonable price. If you have specific requests, make sure to communicate them clearly when ordering. Thank you for the meal.

It's been about 2 months since I last dined out, but I want to resume cautiously. I was craving curry, so I hesitated to go to the 2 Asa restaurants in Chitose City because the seats are relatively close. That's why I thought it might be better to go to the Eniwa branch. When I checked the parking lot and saw 2 cars, I expected at least 2 groups of customers. This place used to be a restaurant called "Cinnamon," an Indian-Nepalese curry restaurant, and I requested the staff to confirm the current situation. The response from the restaurant, which I am a member of, was that they were open for business, so I understood it as a store renovation, but it was actually the opening of a new store. The table arrangement inside the restaurant is expected to remain the same, so I entered after disinfecting with alcohol at the entrance. Looking around the restaurant, there was no change. The table seating here is arranged vertically with tables that have high wall backrests, making it convenient as you cannot see the faces of customers at the tables in front or behind you. Sitting down and looking around the restaurant, it felt more like a tropical cafe than a curry restaurant. They offer lunch sets and individual menu items, including soup curry. I chose the simplest set menu with naan, salad, and curry. Although you can choose your favorite curry, I chose lamb curry instead of my favorite mutton curry. Just like with Genghis Khan, once you get hooked on mutton, lamb doesn't quite satisfy you (laughs). The spiciness level ranges from 0 (mild) to 4 (very spicy), and I ordered level 2 for the lamb curry, while my wife ordered level 1. When the curry arrived, the naan was the largest I had ever seen. I couldn't help but exclaim, "It's huge!" I tore a piece of naan, dipped it in the curry, took a bite, and unexpectedly found it to be quite spicy. The curry was a standard Nepalese curry and delicious. However, it was more spicy than medium, so I was glad I chose level 2. Indian-Nepalese curry restaurants vary in spiciness, so it can be a dilemma when visiting a new one. The spiciness is also important for enjoying the curry. However, we were able to enjoy the meal without focusing solely on the spiciness. The naan had a thick and chewy texture, similar to Pizza Hut's pan pizza, with no crispy parts. The chef offered us more naan, but both my wife and I were satisfied with just one piece (laughs). My wife skillfully ate her naan, using the last piece to clean up the remaining curry in the bowl, reaching the level of a master (laughs). While I haven't had soup curry much in recent years as they tend to taste similar, this restaurant offers spare rib soup curry, which I really want to try, so I hope to visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.

Spinach and chicken curry, standard. Today's curry, eggplant and keema, medium spicy. Lamb curry, very spicy. Comes with rice, naan, black naan (charcoal), and salad. It costs 700 yen each, so three in total. Nepalese curry is guaranteed quality food, never disappointed. The price is cheap and the portion size is quite good.

I want to explore the popularity of the Nepalese curry restaurant "Asa" in Nagano and Chitose, where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese curry. The recommended option is the lunch set, with the popular A set including curry and naan for 790 yen. You can add different types of curry, lassi, and naan for around 1,000 yen. The freshly baked naan has a slight sweetness and pairs perfectly with the spicy curry. Plus, you can have unlimited refills of naan! The cheese naan with plenty of cheese inside is also highly recommended. Although the restaurant faces a main street, the entrance is actually on a small side street. The interior has a stylish and ethnic atmosphere, more like a tropical cafe than a curry restaurant. Different from other branches, this one is a dining bar, creating a cozy atmosphere suitable for enjoying drinks. There are counter seats, table seats, and even raised tatami seating, making it suitable for families with children. Additionally, they offer takeout service as well. The arrangement of table seats with high walls as backrests ensures privacy, as you can't see the faces of customers at neighboring tables.

I learned about this place being open from a review by user 77. It used to be a curry restaurant before, but it seems to have changed. This was our first visit as a couple. We ordered the Soup Curry Set (mild, no spiciness) for 970 yen, and a Plain Lassi for 300 yen. From the lunch menu, we decided to split the Lukewarm Curry and Soup Curry. The Soup Curry had a mild flavor without any spiciness, but it still had a nice kick to it. The Lukewarm Curry was the cheapest option from the ABC set, which allows you to choose from three different curries. The set comes with free refills of naan bread for 770 yen, which is quite filling. For an additional 100 yen, you can upgrade from Plain Naan to Cheese Naan with the B set. The Plain Naan is soft and fluffy with a crispy texture, and the Cheese Naan is delicious. The option for refills is only available for Plain Naan. Many people were also ordering takeout. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Our family's favorite Asa. Located in Eniwa, and you can even take it home! We decided to try it out right away. We usually order 2-3 extra naan breads, so not being able to get refills for takeout is a bit of a downside in terms of cost performance, but we decided to give it a try! We ordered Naan Curry, Chicken Soup Curry, and added 2 pieces of Cheese Naan. They even gave us a complimentary Black Naan, so we ended up with a satisfying 5 pieces of naan! The Soup Curry was supposed to come with a salad, but it wasn't included... oh well. The takeout wasn't as hot as eating in the restaurant, but the taste was still delicious! It might have been a bit lighter in flavor...? We'll enjoy it properly once we settle down!

I went for lunch after seeing that the Otaru branch had opened and was being promoted on the Asa official Instagram. It was as delicious as always, just like the Chitose branch. I ordered the B lunch with cheesy cheese naan and lamb curry. The restaurant was a bit empty, so the piping hot cheese started flowing pretty quickly... it was delicious. To celebrate the opening, we got complimentary ice cream. The staff also came by at the right time to ask if we wanted a refill on naan, but since the cheese was already so filling, we passed this time. It's close to my workplace, so I definitely want to visit again. Also, the interior of the restaurant is very stylish and lovely, so I think it would be great for using as a bar as well.

In September 2020, I visited a curry restaurant along the old Route 36. The interior was dimly lit with a dining bar atmosphere. I decided on the chicken soup curry, with the option to choose the level of spiciness. I asked for level 20, which was just right for me. I could choose between naan and rice, and they were both all-you-can-eat. The soup was served quickly, and it had a strong umami flavor with a hint of buttery richness. It was spicy without any bitterness, which I liked. However, I was disappointed to find boiled pumpkin in the soup, as I'm not a fan of pumpkin in soup curry. The chicken was tender with a slight unique taste, and the rice was fluffy and delicious. Even though I hadn't finished half of my meal, the staff kindly asked if I wanted a refill. The portion size of the soup curry and rice was generous from the start. Thank you for the meal!

This time, the children and I wanted different things to eat, so we decided to get takeout and eat at home. I called ahead and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes for three meals, so I hurriedly headed to pick it up. There is parking available for a few cars next to the store. When I entered the store, the curry was already ready, and the staff were packing the naan bread. I realized they had given me four naan breads instead of three, but the staff quickly said, "The extra naan is on the house." It's nice that you can order naan separately from the curry at this restaurant. However, if you order curry in-store, you can get rice or naan for an extra 200 yen, while plain naan for takeout costs 300 yen, so it may be more cost-effective to eat in-store. The lamb curry had tender lamb meat and was delicious. The naan was also very large and satisfying to eat. Thank you for the meal.
