Chef Quan, who was famous in Da Nang, has joined the team, and the menu is expanding daily. On this day, I decided to try a new dish: stir-fried pho with beef and bok choy. The rice noodles were stir-fried and tossed in a unique sauce. I also had the Da Nang-style shrimp and pork kishimen, which had a rich and flavorful broth, offering a different experience from pho. Both dishes had a taste you can only find here, and I was very satisfied. I will definitely be coming back. I’m posting recipe videos for Moroccan, Russian, Myanmar, and Gambian cuisine on YouTube. You can find them by searching for "World Cuisine at Home - Gambia" at https://youtube.com/@KitchenStudioLoop8.

Today, after finishing work in Ogikubo, I stopped by Danang Town for a meal. I had beef stir-fried pho and grilled meat banh mi, both of which were very delicious. The atmosphere reminded me of central Vietnam, and the food tasted just like the real thing. I definitely want to visit again.

A Vietnamese restaurant opened in Ogikubo in November 2023, which I've been curious about for a while. They serve home-style dishes from Da Nang, Vietnam. I only know that Da Nang is a popular beach resort. I wonder what kind of dishes they have. It seems that you can order individual dishes even during lunch time. Since I'm not very familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, I decided to just drop by for lunch without deciding what to eat.
First, I ordered shrimp spring rolls (2 pieces) for 680 yen and a draft beer. The portion is quite generous with chicken, shrimp, rice noodles (bun), and vegetables, so I was wondering if I could manage to eat another dish. They are served with a sauce that has a strong peanut flavor. This is delicious! I had one roll and while eating the spring roll, I looked at the menu with many options and thought about what to try next. The only dishes I know are pho, banh mi, and curry. I considered trying something I've never had before, so I ordered the popular Da Nang-style fried rice with chicken, which was 1200 yen. I believe this dish is called Com Ga Aa Hai. It seems to be a local specialty from Da Nang.
It includes chicken rice and fried chicken, pickled vegetables (which are spicy and sour), and onion soup. The chicken rice was very garlic-flavored, and there was fried garlic sprinkled on top. It was quite rich with the fat and umami from the chicken, which was tasty, but since I’m not great with garlic, it was a bit much for me. My husband might enjoy it more. The fried chicken had a crispy skin and was served with a sweet soy-like sauce. In Da Nang, they seem to fry the whole chicken. It was fried thoroughly. I liked both the chicken and the sauce, but after eating one spring roll, I was pretty full. I took the leftovers home for my husband. He said the garlic-rich chicken rice and fried chicken were delicious. Now I feel like trying other dishes as well. I would love to go with a few people and taste a variety of dishes. They also had a lunch menu.

Nostalgic? I visited Da Nang in central Vietnam 22 years ago. I remember how beautiful the beach was, but although I must have had several meals at local restaurants, I can't recall what kind of dishes I enjoyed since my trip was busy with places like Halong Bay, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. Hearing the name Da Nang brought back some nostalgic feelings, so I decided to visit again. I used the restaurant for both lunch and takeout. Since I arrived right at opening time, I was able to enter without waiting. Before I finished my meal, they also delivered my takeout order to the table. The lunch set included well-prepared fresh spring rolls and a salad, and my order was served in about five minutes. The distinct Vietnamese seasonings were there, but overall the spiciness was mild. It was fun to change the flavor with the condiments provided on the table. Thank you for the meal! I will come again. m(_ _)m

Next month, I have plans to visit Da Nang, Vietnam for work, so I went to "Da Nang Town" located at Ogikubo Station. The owner and the chef are from Da Nang, and the food was very delicious with excellent service. Next time, I'd like to invite my friends to go out for drinks together.

I went to a Vietnamese restaurant alone for dinner, and it was an authentic experience. I had a great time chatting with the staff at my table. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, offering a sense of openness like being overseas. I was completely satisfied with everything, including the Vietnamese-style grilled meat, beef salad, and fresh coconut. There seems to be enough satisfaction for men as well! ♥

My favorite place in Ogikubo is this restaurant called Danang, and it really serves delicious food. I particularly love their shrimp curry, but I also really enjoy the seasoning on their homemade grilled pork. The Vietnamese staff are very friendly, making it a welcoming place. I highly recommend it!

I visited on a hot Saturday afternoon. The air conditioning in the restaurant wasn't particularly effective, so no need for cooling strategies. They offer a drinking plan where you pay 2,000 yen for two hours of unlimited drinks if you order two food items. The draft beer is Kirin Ichiban Shibori, and I ordered the Roasted Duck for 1,900 yen, the Da Nang-style Green Papaya Salad for 990 yen, the Cilantro Salad for 880 yen, and the Edamame for 440 yen. The roasted duck was quite large and filling, while the edamame was warm. The cold tea served as water was delicious; I wonder what kind of tea it is. There were many kinds of pho and banh mi that looked tasty, but without ordering a final meal, my two hours ended with time running out. They also had counter seating, so I’d like to try the lunch set on my next solo visit.

This restaurant is delicious, and I’ve visited more than ten times. Personally, my favorites are the shrimp curry and the Vietnamese-style grilled meat. The shrimp curry has a slightly sweet taste while also being spicy, making it a great match with rice. The grilled meat has a sweet and spicy flavor, but the umami of the meat really stands out and is delicious! I haven’t tried the pho yet, so I’ll have to eat that next time. The staff is all very kind, and it’s an easy place to visit, so I definitely recommend it!

On a Sunday with a temperature of 34°C, I made my way to a dumpling and porridge restaurant, arriving at 11:28, but it seemed there was one person ahead of me. Next door, I noticed a yellow building housing a Vietnamese restaurant, so I decided to switch my plans and entered there at 11:29. There were no customers inside. I asked if the Danang-style shrimp curry was spicy, and was told, "It's not spicy." I ordered the curry for ¥950 along with a mini salad and fresh spring roll set for an additional ¥250. The spring roll was filled with chicken, and the mini salad was indeed very mini. The curry was rich in flavor and rated 1.5 for spiciness (I learned that the spice level can be adjusted). It contained potatoes, bell peppers, onions, cilantro, and four shrimp with tails on. The portion of Thai rice was 160g, served in a small bowl, topped with crispy fried onions. Thank you for the meal! By the end of my visit, the restaurant was about 60% full. Thank you!

On a summer Sunday, it was my second visit to the restaurant, and I was surprised to find that the menu had doubled in size and was now in a book format. True to its name, the restaurant specializes in cuisine from the Da Nang region, so even those familiar with classic Vietnamese dishes like pho and spring rolls can discover new flavors. The place was almost full, with many couples dining. For lunch, there was a wide variety of banh mi, rice dishes, and noodle dishes, and after much deliberation, I decided on the Da Nang-style kishimen with shrimp and pork for 950 yen. A large, thin sesame cracker topped the dish, which was delicious and would pair well with beer. The noodles were kishimen, served with sweetly braised pork belly, shrimp, vegetables, and two quail eggs, mixed together as you eat. It's customary to change the flavor along the way with the nuoc mam and chili sauce set on the table. All the staff were Vietnamese, providing service with smiles and polite Japanese. I will certainly come back. Thank you for the meal!

I was drawn to this restaurant because of its connection to Da Nang, and I'm glad I visited! Everything was delicious! We had fried spring rolls, green papaya salad, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancakes), banh mi with grilled pork, fried bananas with coconut ice cream, Vietnamese beer, Vietnamese coffee, and mango juice. The flavors were very authentic. I was especially impressed by the crispy banh xeo! Instead of choosing noodles to finish our meal, we opted for the grilled pork banh mi, which we cut in half to share. The richness of the grilled meat paired perfectly with the pickled vegetables, making it delicious! We ended the meal satisfied with dessert and Vietnamese coffee. If I had to wish for something, it would be that the Vietnamese beer was colder. However, even that brought back memories of my time in Vietnam.

I was craving Vietnamese cuisine, so I looked for a highly-rated place and decided to visit Danang-cho. The spring rolls were offered as a complimentary item through a coupon. Each dish clearly showed the care that went into its preparation, making them taste even better. The interior had cheerful yellow walls, giving it a poppy vibe while still feeling calm and relaxing. On my way out, they gave me some candy, and the friendly, warm smiles of the staff made me want to return again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I ordered Danang-style wonton noodles. The light pork bone broth really warms the body. The curly noodles are delicious as well. The wontons and char siu were satisfactory. When I visited a couple of weeks ago, weekend lunches were half price, but today it was at the regular price. The half-price deal was a temporary promotion for the opening. In any case, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

(Igubo Area, 522nd store) I visited a new Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. The interior is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere that is welcoming for women. The lunch menu mainly features noodle dishes with around 10 options, along with one rice dish. It was honestly quite a dilemma choosing what to order. This time, I ordered:
- Danang-style Bun Bo (950 yen, tax included): This dish consists of beef noodle soup with braised beef tendon, and the broth is really delicious. It mentioned that it was spicy, but there wasn't much heat to it. The rice noodles have a texture similar to somen.
- Danang’s famous fish cake noodles (950 yen, tax included): This dish has a lot of bouncy fish cake pieces. It also includes bamboo shoots and pumpkin, but the broth here is quite spicy.
- Fried spring rolls (2 pieces) (250 yen, tax included): These would make a great snack for the evening.
The total for two people came to 2,150 yen, tax included. I didn’t get to see the dinner menu, but I’m looking forward to it. Thank you for the meal!

I had been looking forward to this place since before it opened, and today I finally visited. The lunch menu offers a variety of rice and noodle dishes, and I was torn between choices, but I decided on the Da Nang-style seafood udon. It arrived in about five minutes. First, the soup—it's flavorful and has a gentle taste. The udon is on the softer side. The ingredients include shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, all of which are delicious. Finally, a surprise: the usual lunch menu price of 950 yen was half off at 475 yen on weekends. I forgot to ask if this is a special price for the opening or if it happens every weekend. Regardless, it was really tasty. Thank you for the meal!

A long-awaited Vietnamese restaurant has opened near Ogikubo Station. I had been looking forward to this since I saw construction work happening a little while ago. It seems they offer cuisine from Central Vietnam, and their lunch menu focuses mainly on noodles that suit Japanese tastes. This time, they kindly included fresh spring rolls as a complimentary item. I heard they opened on November 24th. Currently, they are still in a soft opening phase, so only the lunch menu was available, but I plan to visit for dinner in the near future. The Vietnamese manager and staff were friendly and left a good impression. I hope this restaurant succeeds in the future.

I previously traveled to Da Nang. The locals were very kind, and the staff at this restaurant was the same. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very warm. My little trip to Da Nang Town near Ogikubo Station was a wonderful experience.

I suddenly had a strong craving for a refreshing bowl of pho. Surprisingly, there aren't many Thai or Vietnamese restaurants in Ogikubo. The interior of the restaurant was clean, and on a weekday afternoon, it wasn’t very busy. The staff, presumed to be Vietnamese, left a good impression. The pho was around 1000 yen, which isn’t a great bargain, but it was easy to eat (in other words, it lacked a strong punch or unique character) and had a stable, familiar flavor. There were plenty of condiments available on the table. It was nice that I could use a Tabelog coupon for fresh spring rolls during lunch, and the pot tea service was appreciated. The atmosphere allowed for a relaxed and leisurely lunch. If I had to suggest something, I would have liked a lunch drink menu (the pot tea was mysteriously weak in flavor).
