I went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but they ran out of dough, so my friend and I shared a cheese and walnut pizza from the regular menu, as well as a double 200g hamburger. The pizza was delicious with plenty of honey drizzled on top. The hamburger was soft and fluffy, almost like it wasn't meat. It was really tasty.

From Asahikawa heading towards Asahikawa Airport, you will pass by the Inari Shrine intersection. At that corner is Garage Kitchen Roman. It used to have pasta, but starting from December, it seems to have become a pizza restaurant. They offer an "all-you-can-eat" option, so I decided to give it a try. As soon as they opened, cars started coming in one after another! There are a few parking spaces in front of the store and across the road as well. Inside, there are many displays related to cars, fitting the theme of a garage kitchen. I had brought a coupon from a flyer, so the regular price of 980 yen was reduced to 800 yen. They also have individual menu items available for takeout. Drinks are separate and cost 300 yen. Most people seemed to be opting for the all-you-can-eat option. You can order up to 2 pizzas per person at a time by writing down the quantity on a paper provided at the table. We were able to try all the different types of pizza with two people. The pizzas were around 15cm in size, although they appeared slightly smaller. While the flavors were not drastically different, you could notice variations in the sauce and cheese. One pizza with four types of cheese and walnuts was a favorite. The dough was more bread-like, which was enjoyable, but it could have used more toppings to complement it. Perhaps having side dishes like potatoes or chicken would be a nice addition. You will definitely leave with a full stomach after eating here. We ordered a maximum of 2 pizzas each, sharing and ordering in intervals might be a good idea to enjoy them hot. Next time, I would consider ordering more frequently to keep the pizzas warm. If you plan on visiting, keep this in mind!

I visited for lunch. It is located near Asahikawa Airport, at the foot of a shrine with a striking red gate. The exterior of the restaurant gives off a vibe that may not immediately make you want to enter, but it adds to the surprise when you taste the food. The entrance leads directly to tables where customers can be seen. Some greenery could provide a bit of privacy for both diners and passersby. It is a pasta and pizza restaurant. I ordered the daily lunch special, which included pasta, focaccia, salad, and a drink. You can also add dessert. The hot and chewy focaccia was delicious, with a salty flavor. Along with the salad, I was quite satisfied. The pasta was al dente and had a good texture. I had tried an oil-based pasta before, which was even more delicious. I hope they add it to the regular menu. I also added dessert, but I forgot to take a picture. The Catalana was personally very tasty! I could have another bowl of it. Despite the garage-like decor, the service at the restaurant was pleasant.

I just returned from my hometown during Golden Week, but in July, I landed at Asahikawa Airport for a quick 1 night, 2 day trip for a family event, and was picked up by my sister's car departing from Sapporo, heading towards Kitami. It was quite unexpected as I had to reschedule my part-time job for two consecutive weeks due to a last-minute change in plans. Upon arriving in Hokkaido around lunchtime, my sister found this restaurant near the airport. The menu had a variety of options, and after much deliberation, I decided to try the shrimp tomato cream pasta recommended by the restaurant. The taste was decent and the portion size was adequate. The service was excellent, although the prices felt a bit high compared to a place in Muroran that serves delicious Américaine sauce pasta. My sister ordered a pizza set, which I found a bit lacking in chewiness but had a nice wheat flavor. The carbonara my nephew ordered was light and quite tasty. Overall, the restaurant was not bad, with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. Despite its location next to a shrine and surrounded by fields and rice paddies, the quality of the food and service could attract customers for a pleasant dining experience.

I didn't even notice "Garage Kitchen Roman" despite passing by many times. It's located on the left side on the way to Asahikawa Airport, so I never looked that way. When I searched online for this article, I found a delicious story about Keroko in the Asahikawa newspaper. It seems to be a sister store of "Poan". Wait, is "Poan" still around? I ordered the carbonara. At 900 yen for a single dish, I personally felt it was a bit expensive. Even for someone who eats lightly like me, it felt a bit unsatisfying, so it seems like a place geared towards women. The taste was good, with a strong sauce flavor.

A new restaurant called "Garage Kitchen ROMAN" has recently opened near Asahikawa Airport. The parking lot has a rural feel with everyone parked around. The interior of the restaurant combines a 70s vibe with a garage theme, with vintage Skyline posters and mufflers on display. The menu mainly consists of pasta and pizza sets. We ordered the "Genovese Pizza" and "Shrimp and Mushroom in Tomato Sauce" separately. The friendly waiter brought our food, and the pizza had a thin crust which I liked. The Genovese sauce was especially delicious. Unlike other places, they used less olive oil which made it easier to eat. One thing to note is that the interior had a strong oil smell, perhaps intentional to match the garage theme, but it was unnecessary while dining. It's unclear if it was just for that day.

I went to the newly opened Italian restaurant in Higashikagura. It seems to be the second branch of "Poan" in Asahikawa, which has a good reputation. The second branch, "ROMAN," is located towards the airport, just before the Inari Shrine. It's quite a distance from Asahikawa Station, so you need to pay attention to find it. The exterior is different from the typical Italian style I had imagined, more like a small garage with only six table seats inside. It seems to get crowded quickly during lunchtime on weekends, so timing is important. The menu offers set meals, as well as individual pasta, pizza, focaccia, and more. However, the menu is a bit confusing with many items, so it would be nice if it were clearer. There were a few other people waiting aside from us. I was prepared to wait, but surprisingly, the dishes arrived quite quickly. The service from the staff was also good. We had the "Mussel and Broccoli Anchovy Pasta," "Four Cheese and Walnut Pizza," and "Margherita." The pasta had a well-seasoned taste, and the broccoli was soft and delicious. The two pizzas had a thick, fluffy crust. The Four Cheese and Walnut Pizza was especially delicious when drizzled with honey. I would definitely want to eat it again. Since it's only been open for a few months, I will definitely come back when it's more settled. It would be even better if it were in a more accessible location.
