I found a stone oven pizza place while strolling around Asagaya and decided to stop by for lunch. There are two types of lunch sets to choose from, but a la carte is also an option. This time, I went with one of the lunch sets! Sticking to the basics, I chose the Margherita pizza. While waiting for my meal to arrive, I enjoyed a small glass of lunchtime wine along with a salad. The salad was packed with delicious carrot salad, making it really tasty! Each vegetable had a rich flavor, and it was a highly satisfying salad. After waiting for about 7 to 8 minutes, my pizza arrived! The crust was thin and crispy on the edges, and the melted mozzarella cheese looked incredibly appetizing. I cut it into my preferred size before enjoying it! The concentrated flavor of the tomato sauce spread generously on the thin crust was delicious! While it may not be extremely unique, the overall balance of flavors in the pizza was great, and the taste of the mozzarella cheese was rich and delightful! It allows you to simply appreciate the quality of the ingredients. I definitely want to visit again for dinner next time! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

For the second stop of the Azuma-ryō Nomiya Matsuri, I went to an Italian restaurant called Ishigama-ya, located in the northernmost area of the event. This was our first time visiting, as it is run by a couple who have just started their business. There are two types of ticket options: 5 tickets for 2000 yen and 10 tickets for 4000 yen, along with a snack ticket. Each drink at the event is priced at a very reasonable 400 yen. After entering, I handed over the festival tickets and card, and ordered a draft Sapporo Black Label beer along with a half-sized Margherita pizza for 500 yen. We started with a toast over the draft beer, and the mini-sized Margherita pizza that was baked for us was a delightful little round pie. It was a proper Margherita with mozzarella cheese and basil, and I was quite pleased with it. It was fresh out of the oven, delicious, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you for the meal!

I visited on a Sunday afternoon. There was a counter and a table for two, and I was able to enter comfortably with my stroller, so thank you for that. The menu featured many dishes made with Hokkaido vegetables. Aside from pizza, I also tried grilled vegetables, which were delicious and had a wonderful sweetness. I forgot the official names of the pizzas, but the anchovy pizza (sorry, no photo) and the Bismarck pizza (two photos included) were incredibly tasty!!! I felt like the quality really matched the price, so I plan to order the quattro formaggi next time.

On weekends, they serve the dinner menu during lunch. I enjoyed three types of pizza while sipping on Hokkaido wine. Each pizza is delicious, as they are all baked slowly in a stone oven! The calzone has cheese that stretches wonderfully! Although it feels quite rich, the cheese makes it surprisingly easy to eat. Next time, I want to focus on trying various side dishes!

A newly opened pizza place at the Azabujuban Nichidai-dori intersection (a four-way intersection rather than a five-way one?). It's located next to the bakery "Bri," where I visited recently. The cozy interior has only one two-seater table and a counter. The owner manages the restaurant alone. There was one customer ahead of me for takeout and another customer who arrived after me for lunch. You can order from either the lunch menu or à la carte. The lunch pizza options are Margherita or Anchovy pizza, served with a salad and black soybean tea set. Black soybean tea with pizza is quite unusual! I ordered one of each lunch pizza and one hot and one iced black soybean tea. It was noted that there might be a wait, but first, the salad and tea arrived in under 5 minutes, followed by the Margherita pizza in just under 10 minutes, and then the Anchovy pizza shortly after that—everything came out at a nice pace! It seemed I had good timing♪ The pizzas are presumably stone-baked, given the shop's name, and arrived piping hot. Since both pizzas couldn't fit on the table at once, I appreciated that they were brought out at different times! We shared the pizzas around. Using the pizza cutter on the table was quite handy. The edges were crispy, and the cheese was incredibly stretchy, making it a bit tricky to cut! The pizzas were indeed filled with a strong presence of cheese—rich and chewy. Both the Margherita and Anchovy pizzas were substantial, with the anchovy providing a salty flavor that would pair well with drinks (they also had a small beer or wine option for lunch)! The payment is currently cash only. There were wine bottles lined up on the counter, and I thought it was interesting that they had Japanese wine (from Hokkaido); it wasn’t until I was leaving that I realized the restaurant features Hokkaido ingredients. The pizza dough uses Hokkaido wheat, which likely contributed to its crispy and aromatic texture. The strong cheese taste might also be from Hokkaido. The combination of pizza and black soybean tea was surprising but possibly related to Hokkaido too? I’m not sure, but it’s great to have such a unique restaurant in the area! Pizza paired with Japanese wine sounds fantastic! Even without preconceived notions and simply enjoyed as a pizza lunch, it was delicious, and the pricing—around 1000 yen with change—is fantastic!
