I came here after a long time. It's still crowded as usual, but I was able to sit without waiting. The turnover rate must be really good. I didn't have a plan when I came, so I'm hesitating. It's around 12:30. Some items are already sold out. I think I'll go for the well-balanced option. The Makunouchi bento is 580 yen, which is not much different from a convenience store bento in price. Wallet-friendly. The miso soup is piping hot, a common thing in eateries. It's nice that there are various side dishes. The Zangi has sauce on it. Is this Sapporo Zangi? It's nice that the greasiness is not too strong. They probably have the air conditioning on, but it's still quite hot because there are a lot of people. I'll eat quickly and head back.

Payday... the feeling of freedom on a Friday... I headed to the Sapporo City Hall main building cafeteria. It's been about 5 years since I last visited! Finally fulfilling my wish! I ordered the pork cutlet bowl (with sauce) and cold tanuki soba. They were both ready in about 3 minutes and served at the same time. The pork cutlet was crispy and the sauce was a bit tangy. The cold tanuki soba was refreshing on a hot day. The miso soup that came with the pork cutlet bowl made me quite full. Very satisfying! And the prices are reasonable, a friend to our wallets. This week was tough, so I'm heading home now. Have a nice weekend! #

Suzuran set meal, herb-grilled chicken, 520 yen. The main dish is pre-made so it is served quickly. As a result, it is slightly cold. The flavor is quite mild. (Maybe it's meant to be eaten with soy sauce or sauce). The portion size is sufficient but not too large. Still, it is considered cheap.

Fish set meal - Salt-grilled Pacific herring for 590 yen. I always go late so the set meals are often sold out, but this day was unusual and there were some left. This will definitely sell out. Great value for money! The size of the Pacific herring was bigger than the sample (lol). It was not overcooked, juicy, and had no dryness. The roe was large and properly cooked. The sweet potato sauce was a nice palate cleanser. For this price and portion size, I am very satisfied. It's a bit noisy at the city hall cafeteria and it's self-service, but for this price, you can't complain. You get this large Pacific herring for 590 yen? The rice and miso soup are okay for this price.

Even though the weather is bad, the city hall connected to the underground mall is very convenient. Despite being underground, there are large windows through which you can see the outside, giving it an open feeling. The ramen is the type where pre-fried vegetables are topped, so it has a decent taste.

"Visiting for the First Time in April 2023" Starting the day with a walk around Sapporo city, following a visit to the Hokkaido University Museum, I decided to go somewhere I had never been before - the observation deck at Sapporo City Hall. Although I was born in Sapporo and lived there until I was 22, I realized that I had never been to City Hall. Usually, I handle most things at the ward office, so I have no memory of ever going to City Hall... If I have been there, it might have been on a field trip in elementary school, but I can't remember clearly. Now, it was past lunchtime, so I decided to grab a bite to eat at the Sapporo City Hall Main Building cafeteria. Although there is a restaurant on the 18th floor, for a first visit, it seemed appropriate to start here. This cafeteria is operated by the Sapporo City Employees' Welfare Association, managed by Union Kyushoku Co., Ltd., and open from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays. Since it is primarily for city hall employees, the biggest selling point is its affordability. However, if I eat too much, it might ruin my diet for the day... Still, I couldn't resist the temptation of the "Pork Cutlet Curry" button on the ticket machine due to the reasonable prices. The cafeteria is divided into different counters for ramen, rice dishes, etc., and the curry dishes are served at the purple counter at the back. You place your food ticket on the tray under the counter, and the staff will prepare your order. They informed me that it would take about 5 minutes for the Pork Cutlet Curry. I was told to remember my number, as they would call it when ready. Surprisingly, there were no number tags or half-tickets... I waited a bit while being overtaken by several customers ordering regular curry, and soon the freshly fried cutlet was brought out. They scooped rice onto a plate, placed the crispy cutlet on top, and poured curry over it. Meanwhile, the lady next to me prepared miso soup. The presentation was surprisingly meticulous and appetizing. The cafeteria, located on the basement floor, oddly had windows on one side facing a sunken courtyard on the south side of the building. Luckily, a window seat was available, so I enjoyed my meal. The curry had a sweet, home-cooked flavor, and the generous portion of ingredients made even the regular curry satisfying. The menu was reasonably diverse, the taste was decent, and most importantly, it was affordable. With its extended operating hours, this cafeteria should serve its users well."==============================◇ Pork Cutlet Curry 650 yen ===========

I went to Sapporo City Hall for work. I had some time before my lunch break at 1:00, so I tried the cafeteria recommended by my boss for the first time. I ordered the fried rice, which was quick to make. It tasted just like homemade fried rice, and it brought back nostalgic memories. The seaweed soup was extremely hot and burned my tongue. Next time, I'll try the curry. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I ordered the Suzuran set meal (chicken with herbs) and it was delicious, even though it was a bit cold as it seemed to be pre-made. The portion of rice was quite large for me. This is just my personal diary, so the evaluations and comments may not be reliable.

2023/1 Revisit 2023 2nd cup It's rare for procedures at the government office to be completed in just one visit. Even the social insurance office now requires advance reservations just to have a consultation before the procedure. Well, they say "government work" for a reason. Once again, it's time to go to the city hall for procedures. It's not that the officials are negligent. On the contrary, they are very kind and helpful, providing a lot of information. It's just that the workflow and coordination are still outdated, making it inefficient. The "Digital Agency" claims to improve efficiency, but who knows what will happen. The goal might just be to increase tax revenue without allowing widespread tax evasion. Well, in times like these, it's time for "ramen" (a phrase not used for a while). Let's go eat at the main cafeteria of Sapporo City Hall after a long time. "Soy sauce ramen" for 500 yen. The toppings include thinly sliced chashu, seasoned bamboo shoots, wheat gluten, green onions, boiled egg, fish cake, and seaweed. It's a typical cafeteria ramen. The soup is made for commercial use but well-made for the price. Since it's made by a supplier, the salt and seasonings are kept moderate. The noodles are the authentic high-water content Sapporo noodles from the Sapporo City Hall. If you work in this area, this cafeteria would be one of the lunch options to consider. Apparently, it gets quite crowded during lunchtime. Well, sometimes government cafeterias are not bad at all.

I arrived late, so the popular set meals were sold out. I ordered the Katsu Curry for 650 yen instead. Both ordering and returning dishes were self-service. It took a bit of time as they were frying the cutlets upon order, but they were freshly fried so it was worth the wait. The curry itself was just your typical curry, like something you would find at a casual diner or home-cooked meal, but it was tasty. Next time, I'll try one of their set meals. This is just my personal diary, so my evaluation and comments may not be reliable.

I had some business at the city hall, so I stopped by here! ^_^ It was afternoon past lunchtime, so I wasn't really hungry, but felt nostalgic. I used to come here a lot for lunch when I was in the city center. It was cheap and delicious. There weren't many people around which was nice. I ordered the "tanuki soba" for 440 yen. The lady made it quickly. It was so nostalgic. The tempura bits were just the right amount. It was just a regular lunch soba, but it was delicious! I will definitely come back here when I pass by again! Thank you for the meal!

Lunch refugee, it's past 2 o'clock. I was originally planning to eat ramen in the Tsukisamu area, but unexpectedly they were closed for the day... Oh no, now I, a scatterbrained person, can't decide where to go next and wander around! Finally, I found a cafeteria that was open after a long time. Ramen turned into katsudon for some reason, probably because a review I saw from a certain alien a few days ago popped up from the depths of my mind. Katsudon! Hey, I have a health check-up at the beginning of next month, is it okay? I didn't even think about that for a second. The taste is rich, the meat is a bit tough, but it's fine for my dental implant, not so much for natural teeth. With this volume, miso soup, and pickles included, it only cost 500 yen. Can't complain about that.

It's hot. The humidity is creeping in. I want to eat something cold. I feel like having chilled noodles. Where should I go? I've never tried the noodles at the city hall. I'll give it a try. Cold tanuki soba for 430 yen, which is cheap and appreciated. I wait in line. But it comes out quickly, so I don't have to wait long. The noodles are cold and served in plenty of chilled broth. They are firm with a good texture. The toppings include tempura crumbs, green onions, seaweed, greens, and fish cake. I wonder if it's enough? But I don't want to get too full and sleepy, so it's fine. The broth is a bit strong for my taste. The tempura crumbs stayed crispy until the end. Unlike other places where they tend to get soggy. My hunger is satisfied without making me sleepy. It was a wallet-friendly lunch. Thank you for the meal.

I was in a hurry around 2:30 pm and wanted something quick to eat, so I parked my bicycle at the city hall for the first time in a while. There are more paid parking lots around now, so it's not as easy to park casually. Since it was already past lunchtime, there were only noodle dishes available. I looked at the ticket machine and chose "Zaru Udon for 390 yen." I placed the ticket on the tray at the noodle counter and waited. It only needed to be dipped in hot water, so I waited a bit and then sat at a table. The noodles were just the right texture, and they even had seaweed on top. The dipping sauce was also delicious. Next time, I don't mind waiting in line for a set meal! Thank you for the meal!

Spicy miso ramen. It's been a while since I had it. I'm at the underground cafeteria of the city hall, getting ready for a 3.5-hour seminar in the afternoon. I've been coming to this cafeteria for lunch for work for about 25 years, but it's still cheap and good. I always have a hard time deciding between ramen, curry, or a set meal, which is also fun.

Title: "Sapporo Trip in June 2022 Part 3: Envious of City Hall Employees! Delicious and Varied Meals at the City Hall Cafeteria" On the second day in Sapporo, I met up with my friend Razi in the morning and we went to a super sento (public bath). Afterwards, we decided to have lunch at the Sapporo City Hall. We walked about 3 kilometers in the morning and another 2 kilometers from the mulberry orchard to the City Hall, using up a lot of time and energy. However, we were trying to save money and maybe even burn some calories. As we arrived at the City Hall at 11:47 am, we headed to the cafeteria in the basement. With so many menu options, we were a bit overwhelmed when buying meal tickets from the vending machine. There were choices like curry, ramen, udon, soba, katsudon, fried rice, and various set meals. Although I was tempted to go for curry or ramen, I decided to order the Suzuran set meal for 500 yen. It's a popular item and tends to sell out quickly. After purchasing the meal ticket, we went to the counter for the set meals. Razi ordered the Tokeidai set meal for 550 yen, while I got the Suzuran set meal in just 30 seconds. It was quite crowded around 11:50 am on a weekday. I would rate the meal 10 out of 10. Soup: 8 points The taste of the dish was light and Chinese-inspired, with ingredients like tofu, bell peppers, carrots, and mushrooms. Mushroom Ankake Gomoku Chahan (Fried Rice): 10 points This dish consisted of a generous serving of sticky sauce on top of rice, mixed with various mushrooms, bamboo shoots, carrots, and chopped green onions. It was served with pickled ginger on the side. The portion was larger than expected and very satisfying. Overall rating: 9 points Contrary to the common perception of public institution cafeterias offering cheap but mediocre food, the City Hall cafeteria impressed us with its taste and portion size. It was bustling with both city employees and regular customers. It has become a must-visit dining spot whenever I'm in the area. It's a shame that they are only open on weekdays! Afterwards, my friend from Kashiwa, Chiba, was scheduled to join us at 2 pm. Until then, we strolled around the 19th-floor observation deck and Odori Park. At Odori Park, we watched a free live performance by a Tokyo-based idol group called Hyakki Otome. The members were adorable, and I even received a flyer from them. I thought about attending one of their live performances in Tokyo. (June 10, 2022)

I'm so hungry~ I ended up having a late lunch, can I eat here? All set meals are sold out by 3:30 pm on weekdays, well that's understandable. Hmm, what should I get? Something light? Soba noodles? I'm too hungry for that, I want something richer. Ah, miso ramen, only 490 yen. As expected from the city hall cafeteria, it's cheap! I handed in my tray ticket, got my water, spoon, and chopsticks set, and now I'm waiting. Let's eat~! It comes with a decent amount of chashu, half an egg, and some bamboo shoots. Lots of vegetables too - cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, and green onions piled high so you can't even see the noodles. If I had to say, it could be a bit hotter, but it's not lukewarm by any means. I wonder if I'll get thirsty later? Thanks for the meal.

It was well past lunchtime on a day in 2022 when I decided to stay underground and use the underground passage instead of going outside. I couldn't find any set meals, so I chose from the noodle menu and bought the chicken and green onion soba for 470 yen from the ticket machine. I waited for my order on a tray at the counter. When my order was called, I picked it up and took it to my seat. The soba was cooked well and served with plenty of ingredients like long green onions, fish cakes, seaweed, and chicken. The chicken added a delicious flavor to the broth. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you!

I want to eat something warm. In winter, you can't go wrong with pork miso soup. I remember having it at the city hall. Let's go. They asked me what filling I wanted in my rice ball. Oh? You can choose. I'll have umeboshi. Pork miso soup tastes better when made in a certain amount, right? I like the firm texture of this tofu. I enjoy having tamagoyaki and pickled vegetables as side dishes, I like both. A lunch with only favorite foods.

There is a cafeteria in the basement of Sapporo City Hall that anyone can use. They serve a delicious fish set meal with a large herring and plenty of rice for 580 yen. It's a great option for the citizens. It tends to get crowded around 12:15 PM, as many city hall employees take their lunch break around that time. The window seats offer a nice view of the garden. The menu is varied and they accept Sapporo Point Cards.
