Teio Department Store is closing, so I went to Rihaku, a popular Chinese restaurant nearby before heading to the department store. It was crowded right after opening. I chose the noodle set lunch which came with char siu noodles, boiled and fried dumplings, salad, rice, almond jelly/drink, a very filling lunch. The slightly sweet fried dumplings were my favorite! I have been wanting to visit this place for a while now, and finally got the chance today. I had a hard time deciding, but ended up ordering the lunch set where you can choose 2 dishes. I went with the shredded pork with green peppers and the shrimp chili, both of which were easy to eat Japanese-style Chinese dishes. The menu is so extensive, so I'll definitely have to come back again! Thank you for the meal.

Today is Tanabata, and children are walking around in yukatas receiving candles, which is a tradition. However, nowadays it seems to be more like a Halloween event where they receive candy. I was taken to a restaurant where we had a drinking course. It started with appetizers, followed by shark fin soup, and then dish after dish kept coming out. It was a busy and bustling atmosphere of eating, drinking, and talking. Overall, the food was delicious, but the spare ribs and kimchi fried rice were particularly exquisite. Some found it too spicy, but I personally enjoyed the combination of kimchi and additional spices. It seems to be a well-known restaurant in the area. Thank you for the meal!

I had a set meal of mapo tofu on this day! As someone who likes spicy food, it was just the right level of spiciness and very delicious! Another day, I ordered delivery from Walt and got sweet and sour pork, stir-fried pork with green peppers, and shrimp ankake yakisoba... ordering all of them was the right choice! I would definitely want to go back when I feel like having Chinese food again!

It's a Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. The cost performance might not be the best, as authentic Chinese cuisine tends to be on the pricier side. I ordered the lunch menu, which includes unlimited rice, pickles, soup, salad, and a choice of one dish like shrimp mayo, crab omelette, or mapo tofu. I chose sweet and sour pork. The portion of sweet and sour pork was smaller than expected. I had to eat it carefully to avoid having leftovers. In the end, I had some leftovers and ended up pouring the sauce over the rice to finish it. The taste was average. It was a learning experience.

On this day, I went to "Li Taibai" for lunch. I arrived before 12 o'clock and there were 7 groups of customers already seated, with 8 groups arriving after me. I was seated at a table and noticed there was also a raised seating area. I chose the "Choice Lunch" option, which included Mapo Tofu and Chinjao Rosu, with a side of Oolong tea. The lunch arrived in about 15 minutes. The Mapo Tofu was spicy and delicious, which I personally enjoyed. The fried dumplings and Chinjao Rosu were okay. I initially thought the portion of rice was large, but I ended up finishing it easily because the side dishes were so good. It was a satisfying lunch, so I am looking forward to trying the "Drinking Set" they offer at night next time!

On the second day of my business trip, I had lunch in Hakodate. I had Chinese food, which is my diet's enemy. If I were alone, I would never choose this place while on a diet. I ordered the "Choice Lunch Hoikoro" for 880 yen, and you can add another dish for an additional 500 yen, but I didn't do that. I had a hot coffee as a service drink. The Hoikoro was quite authentic, but it lacked in bell peppers. It's true that having just one main dish may result in an imbalance between the side dishes and rice. I ordered less rice and ended up leaving almost half of it, so it was fine for me. The authentic Chinese food was not bad, so I would probably visit again if it's nearby. Thank you for the meal.

We visited a Chinese restaurant located on the right side after crossing the Kamada River while heading from Honcho towards Bandai-cho on the Goryokaku Park Line. The restaurant has a red sign outside and a parking lot next to it. Inside, there are sunken kotatsu seating, tatami seating with chairs, and table seating. The interior has a nice atmosphere with a landscaped bamboo garden. For lunch, they offer a choice lunch set (930 yen) where you can choose from dishes like Ebi Mayo, Ebi Chili, Chinjao Rosu, Mapo Tofu Crab Omelette, Chicken Karaage and Spring Rolls, Hoi Ko Lo, Sweet and Sour Pork, etc. The popular and famous dish seems to be the Mapo Tofu served in a clay pot, but today I ordered the Chinese Fried Rice (880 yen). The dish was filled with ingredients like carrots, pork, ham, squid, shrimp, napa cabbage, komatsuna, baby corn, quail eggs, wood ear mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. Seeing the beautifully arranged dish, I could understand why the restaurant is always crowded. I have come to realize that Chinese restaurants in Hakodate are not cheap these days.

We visited the Hakoraku free paper in the Hakodate area. We were looking for the super spicy mapo tofu. My wife: "I hope this isn't the parking lot they were talking about." The parking lot seemed full with space for over 10 cars. After a short wait, we managed to park, but it was quite popular. We had to wait again inside, and after about 15 minutes, we were seated in a private room (^ ^). As planned, my wife ordered a half portion of mapo tofu, and I ordered mapo noodles. Both were ordered with extra spiciness. Oh, we also ordered a dumpling. The mapo tofu was indeed quite spicy (^^) The numbing spice kicked in well, and the spiciness came later. My wife: "This is a hit, it's really delicious." My mapo noodles were a bit disappointing. The spiciness felt like they just added more chili oil, and there was no ground meat in the mapo noodles (≧∇≦) It felt lacking. My wife: "Seems like you made the wrong choice there (・Д・) The dumpling was also nothing special. Why is this place so crowded? We'll try somewhere else next time ಠ_ಠ"

The pronunciation of the characters for this restaurant's name, "リハク," remains a mystery. The lunch menu offers a variety of choices and feels like a good deal.

The dish looked delicious with a rich sesame sauce and spicy aroma. The noodles were different from the usual Chinese style, but I enjoyed them. The soup had a flavorful minced meat at the bottom which added to the taste. The dish had a simple yet perfect combination of greens and the spicy sauce. Overall, the tantanmen was delicious and satisfying. I enjoyed the meal and left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

I had lunch at Mr. Rihaku in Miyamaecho and had the noodle choice set to finish the year with Chinese food. Today's lucky food in the horoscope was "gomoku ramen," so I had it in soy sauce flavor. As always, it was delicious.

For lunch today, I had the recommended dish of mapo noodles and half fried rice at Li Taibai in Miyamaecho. As usual, the restaurant quickly filled up as soon as it opened, so I'm glad I went early and waited.

I ordered the lunch choice set, which was the sweet and sour pork set (900 yen). The sweet and sour pork was made with pork. The taste was not too strong, and it was a refreshing Chinese dish. It was just an ordinary taste without any special mention. However, customers kept coming in one after another. Despite being in a regional area, the prices were not cheap, similar to Tokyo. In fact, Tokyo has cheaper options, so there are more choices available. Overall, my trip to Hakodate left me feeling unsatisfied.
