In September 2022, just a 1-minute walk from the south exit of Teine Station on the JR line, there is a mochi shop run by a rice shop owner. The popular item here is the "San Daifuku," but today's highlight is the steamed buns. These are a hidden specialty that sells out quickly! The black sugar and plain flavors are classic, and there are also two limited-time seasonal options available. I purchased some for home: pumpkin for 151 yen and sweet potato for 140 yen. They are fluffy and delicious, with a gentle taste that highlights the quality ingredients. So tasty! Thank you for the meal!

During a break at work, one of the staff members brought some snacks for everyone to enjoy. They brought a pack of grass mochi and bean mochi, which were more like a meal than a snack. I couldn't decide which one to choose, but ended up trying the grass mochi. It was incredibly soft and had the perfect chewy texture. The mochi itself was thick and the red bean paste inside had a good amount of volume. It was delicious. I found out that the snacks were from a shop near Teine Station, with a long history dating back to the Meiji era. The shop used to use a water mill to make rice, which is where the name comes from. They also sell rice, grains, beans, and a variety of traditional Japanese sweets. They focus on using natural ingredients, which is great. I definitely plan on visiting the shop myself to try more of their mochi. Thank you for the treat.

In March 2022, I visited the Oyatsu Daifuku Rice Store at the south exit of Teine Station. I originally came for the sakura mochi, but ended up getting the strawberry daifuku instead. They had two types: red bean paste and whole red bean paste, each for 324 yen. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and large, perfectly ripe! The sweetness of the red bean paste was just right, and the rice cake had a delicious flavor. Next, I'll try their steamed buns. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I had some errands to run in Teine, so I looked it up on Tabelog and found the highest-rated place in the area, so I decided to give it a try. The steamed buns seemed to be particularly popular, as there were several people placing advance orders. I wonder if you have to do that on weekends to get them? I tried the black sugar steamed bun, the pumpkin steamed bun, and the bekomochi. The steamed buns were soft and chewy, and I could see why they are so popular.

On a day off, I had lunch with my friend at a restaurant in Teine, and then we decided to explore some shops in the area. As we were heading towards Teine Station, we came across a shop that was open on a Sunday. I had visited this shop before, but my friend wanted to check it out, so we went in. Last time I visited, I bought some dumplings and daifuku, but my friend had heard that their steamed buns were delicious. I didn't know they had steamed buns because they weren't available when I visited in the evening. The shop had about four different types of steamed buns in the showcase, giving off a recommended vibe. This time, I decided to try the black sugar steamed bun. The steamed bun had a chewy texture as they used rice flour in the dough. Unlike other steamed buns with a subtle black sugar flavor, this one had a rich black sugar taste, along with a nice sweetness. The dough had dark spots here and there, which added to the intense black sugar flavor. While I had bought daifuku and dumplings on my previous visit, I really liked the steamed buns here. I would definitely buy them again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I had been wanting to visit this place ever since I heard that their steamed buns are delicious, but I had given up because they are closed on Sundays and located in Teine. However, when I happened to pass by Teine Station on a Sunday, I was surprised to see that Mizuguruma-san was open! Maybe they were selling mochi for the New Year, but their regular day off on Sundays seemed unchanged, so I was thrilled to find them open! I immediately bought their steamed buns, and here is my review: - Steamed Bun (Plain) Although these steamed buns look fluffy, they are actually chewy when you bite into them! They are similar to Mararcao or black sugar agarasa in texture. Even though it was plain, it had a hint of sweetness and the texture was just perfect! I didn't even look at the mochi, but I highly recommend trying their steamed buns! I was so happy to unexpectedly be able to try them, and it was definitely the highlight of my day! Thank you, Wu-ta-san!

I finished my work in Ishikari early, so I decided to make a detour to a shop that caught my interest and head back towards Teine Station. I parked my car at a nearby parking lot and walked towards the shop I had been curious about. Peeking inside, I saw that there were still some products left, so I decided to go in. The showcase displayed delicious-looking daifuku and dango, making it hard to choose. I ended up getting a bean daifuku and a few different types of dango. The bean daifuku had plenty of beans kneaded into it, with soft mochi and mildly sweet red bean paste. The large beans added a nice texture and flavor. As for the dango (red bean paste, soy sauce, sesame), they were soft with a smooth texture. The red bean paste had a nice balance of sweetness, the soy sauce had a slightly stronger sweet and savory flavor, and the sesame had a generous amount of black sesame seeds, adding a fragrant nuttiness to the sweetness. The prices were reasonable, making it convenient to buy traditional Japanese sweets. Overall, it was a satisfying treat.

[Completely Smoke-Free] Established in the north exit of Teine Station in 1928!? This rice shop used to utilize the power of a water wheel for threshing. Unlike rice milling machines, threshing with the power of a water wheel does not generate excess heat, resulting in very delicious rice. The location of the shop is next to Lawson in the block directly in front of JR Teine Station north exit (connected inside). The entrance of the shop faces Nijuuyonken Teine Street. 2020/10/7, 3:00 PM, revisited after work. It's been a while since I last came here, even though I really like it. This time, I came to Teine for lunch and decided to buy some things on the way back. Here, I bought steamed bread made from rice flour: black sugar for 140 yen + tax and plain for 130 yen + tax. Rice flour is interesting, isn't it? It can be used for the famous Zangi in Bibai, various bread in different shops, and even in steamed bread here, the taste of rice is distinct. I wonder how others feel about it. To me, this steamed bread is lightly sweet and refreshing, with a chewy texture. Personally, both in terms of body constitution and taste, rice suits me better than wheat. (・ω・)

I visited this place on my way back from Teine Ward this time. Inside the store, there were various traditional Japanese sweets such as skewered dango, bekomochi, and daifuku. There was also an eat-in space available. I bought some daifuku and enjoyed them in the car. The white one had sweet red bean paste inside, while the miso-flavored one had white bean paste with miso mixed in. The mochi was thick and had a chewy texture, but the not-too-sweet and slightly salty bean paste filled generously inside was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

- Grass Daifuku (smooth red bean paste), 120 yen (excluding tax) This traditional Japanese confectionery shop is located near Teine Station! Not only are the sweets delicious, but they also have a decent variety available. While the shop itself doesn't have a parking lot, there is a convenience store next door with parking available. So why not pick up something at the convenience store and stop by to buy some sweets as well? The Daifuku available at the shop has smooth red bean paste, and you can even order it with chunky red bean paste. It seems like they make it fresh upon ordering. The grass flavor wasn't particularly strong, but the mochi's elasticity and chewiness were excellent, making it quite delicious! I'm curious to try out the other Daifuku they offer. Thank you for the meal!

When it gets hot, symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is still no medication that suits me. I will be updating reviews based on my condition. Likes and comments may be delayed, thank you in advance.【November 2019】"Mizuguruma" is a rice shop established in 1985. Located in Teine-ku, Sapporo, it sells rice and rice cakes. In the past, when there was no electricity, rice was pounded at "Mizuguruma". The store is named after the old "Mizuguruma". I visited with my usual companion when I came to Teine-ku. The shop is located on the first floor of a building south of JR Teine Station in Sapporo. Please check the exact location on Tabelog. I visited around 12 noon on a holiday. There were 3 customers before me and 3 customers after me. Inside the store, the rice milling machine was in operation. They sell rice, rice cakes, and rice snacks like Karinto. I bought some rice cakes. ■ "Teinukun" Teine-ku 30th Anniversary Commemorative Product The taste is "Suama". Teinukun is the mascot character of Teine-ku, created for the 20th anniversary of Teine-ku, a dog with hands on its head, "Teinu" → "Teinu" → "Teine" → "Teine" Price: 194 yen (tax included) ■ Limited Edition Chestnut Daifuku Based on chestnut-flavored chestnut daifuku, with a whole chestnut in the center of the sweet bean paste, it is a seasonal confectionery to enjoy the taste of chestnut. Price: 216 yen (tax included) ■ Chigirimochi The base is soft freshly made mochi with soy sauce and Kinako, each with 4 pieces separately, with Kinako included. Personally, I like the taste. Price: 291 yen (tax included) All of them have a good taste at an affordable price. "Teinukun" is really cute. This is the second time I've seen it at "Mizuguruma". Personally, I liked "Chigirimochi". Freshly made mochi alone tastes good. It's also nice to have Kinako separately. And it's quite cheap. (laughs) My usual companion particularly liked the "Limited Edition Chestnut Daifuku". The quality is good for the price. It has a taste and price that is affordable. The rice cakes are all soft. There is a table for eating in the store. I wonder which rice cake I should try next time. It was delicious, thank you.

When I visited Teine, I found and stopped by Mizuwa, a Japanese sweets shop. I have a weakness for Japanese sweets, so I bought the "Red Daifuku" (120 yen), "Strawberry Dango" (100 yen), and "Chestnut Dango" (130 yen). I love strawberries, so the Strawberry Dango was delicious! The chestnut was also tasty, and the Red Daifuku was good too. I will definitely go back to try the other items.

I finish work in Teine in the evening, which is unusual for me. So, I decided to drink in Teine. As I walked towards the downtown area, I found a dumpling shop! I went inside immediately and noticed that it is connected to the Lawson next door. They seem to have the same management. In addition to dumplings and daifuku, they also sell mochi rice that can be freshly milled. There are small 4-person tables and a counter by the window, where you can eat in. I bought "Kusa Daifuku @120, Mame Daifuku @120 (excluding tax)" and enjoyed them at home. The mochi has a firm texture, giving a real feel of eating mochi. It becomes harder as time passes, a truly honest mochi. The fillings in both are smooth red bean paste with a mild saltiness and a slightly sweet taste. I am very curious about the colorful skewered dumplings, so I definitely want to try them next time. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain weekday, while returning from having lunch in the JR Teine Station area, I stopped by this Japanese confectionery shop that got me excited as a reviewer. Located on the 1st floor of a building in front of the station, the shop had a colorful showcase filled with various sweets and also had table seats for dining in. From the menu that day, I was captivated by the unique daifuku and skewered rice dumplings in the showcase, and ended up choosing a few items within my budget. The "Plain Steamed Bread (130 yen + tax)" had a textbook-like fluffy texture with a mild sweetness and a nice aroma, complemented by large azuki beans as accents, which I really liked. The "Inukun (180 yen + tax)" was a special confection featuring the character for the 30th anniversary of Teine Ward, and I was delighted to find it there. It had a pleasant sweetness and a chewy texture similar to mochi, with a different color for the eyes and mouth. The "Hokkaido Green Soybean Skewer (100 yen + tax)" had three mochi balls skewered on a white, elastic stick, along with green soybeans that added a unique flavor. The "Green Plum Daifuku (150 yen + tax)" had a thin mint green outer layer with a refreshing combination of white bean paste and a sweet and sour plum jelly inside, giving a surprisingly light impression for a daifuku. I noticed there were still many other interesting mochi varieties to try next time. Looking forward to it. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to this restaurant many times, but this is my first time since starting to use Tabelog. It's the equinoctial week, so I got ohagi (smooth and chunky), strawberry daifuku (smooth and chunky), and bean daifuku, as well as sakuramochi. They are soft and have just the right amount of sweetness. Their steamed buns are also delicious. I bought two each of pumpkin and sweet potato flavors. They have a nostalgic taste that is not too sweet.

I visited a friend's house and bought a souvenir from this shop. Since I was there, I also bought the same item to take home. I tried the skewered dumplings with sweet bean paste filling. The dumplings had a mugwort flavor and were a bit firm. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet. My friend said the cherry blossom mochi was delicious. (2019.02)

It's around Teine Station. I did a walking tour around Teine district and bought some mochi as a snack on the way back. It's really cold at this time of year! I felt like eating hot and fluffy mochi, so I came to the popular store Mizuwa in Teine. I bought normal white cut mochi for grilling, walnut mochi that my wife likes, black bean daifuku for my hardworking daughters, and grass kinako mochi that everyone can enjoy. I quickly headed back home to eat them while they were still soft! I brewed some tea and enjoyed them. I ate one white cut mochi as is, grilled two with sugar soy sauce, and boiled two with kinako. The soft mochi allows you to taste the flavor of the rice slowly. I adjusted the saltiness of the kinako to my liking. Mochi is really the best dessert, isn't it! Can't wait for New Year's! Thank you for the meal.

This year's review is within this year♬ I visited a while ago, but I'll casually mix in a review of Teine (lol). I bought bean daifuku and sakura mochi, but I forgot the exact product names and prices. Both were delicious in a normal way. However, I didn't particularly feel any distinctive features. Personally, I wish the bean daifuku had more of a bean texture. Hmm. Maybe I had too high expectations. It was really just delicious, but it didn't really hook me...

I arrived around 2pm, but unfortunately the steamed buns I wanted were sold out. So today I had: - Soy sauce dumplings (¥108) → They were delicious, but nothing particularly special. - Sakura red bean paste dumplings (¥108) → I could taste the cherry blossom flavor. - Kinako mochi (¥108) → The mochi had a slightly chewy texture. You could really taste the kinako. I wish it was a bit bigger. I might come back for this one! I wanted to post a photo, but I failed to take it home properly and the red bean paste spilled, making it messy. Also, please note that they only accept cash for payments under ¥1000!
