Wandering new curry mania / rookie ramen mania, a solitary middle-aged man. This is a memorandum-like review by the old man. If you want to see concise information about the restaurant and food, please move on to other people's reviews around here. This time, it's lunch with a companion. As always, there are various options to choose from, and it's difficult to narrow down. In the midst of this, we were both drawn to the idea of a "restaurant specializing in doria and omurice." I, being somewhat of a cat tongue (although I've overcome it a bit), do not prioritize "doria" when selecting a menu. I missed out on the popular "doria" at 'Towaright' the other day (simply didn't choose it), so I thought it might be good to try it again at a different restaurant. Additionally, my companion was very interested in "omurice." It's a restaurant run by someone who used to work at 'Mikuni' kitchen. So, we decided to give it a try. The location is in Chuo-ku, Kitayonjo Nishi 14-chome. It faces the promenade known as "Mini Odori" and the corner of Fukuju-Sawayamadori where it intersects with the JR Sawayamadori station on the Sapporo streetcar West line. There is no parking lot. It's the second block from the restaurant. If you head towards JR Sawayamadori station, there is a paid parking lot at the corner of Kitago and Teine streets, which you can use. We arrived at around 13:35 (Sunday). The interior of the restaurant was smaller than expected. The seating area is arranged on the left and right sides of the entrance, with tables in each area. There were also a couple of counter seats facing the kitchen wall, but I wonder if they are used. The previous customers were a young couple and a family. The later customers were a middle-aged couple. Probably, if the fourth group enters, the place will be full, and they might ask you to wait. If you are short on time, it's better to make a reservation. The weekend lunch menu has two options: "Palatino Lunch" and "Steak Lunch." Please check the details of the variations and options in the menu image. [Companion] Palatino Lunch - Omurice (with curry sauce) - Soup (cup) - Three appetizers - Black tea [Old man] Palatino Lunch - Cream doria with oysters and bacon - Soup (cup) - Three appetizers - Extra large doria - Coffee Total: 3,330 yen (1,400 yen + 100 yen + 1,600 yen + 130 yen + 100 yen) The soup and three appetizers were served in 3 minutes after ordering. Wow! The doria arrived surprisingly quickly, about 13 minutes after the appetizers. I, being a "cat tongue," waited for my companion's omurice to arrive. The omurice was served about 4 minutes after the doria. Let's share the small plates and try each other's dishes. Hot! Oh, delicious! The rich but not overpowering taste of cheese, the richness of cream/Béchamel, and the slightly "ojya"-flavored butter rice combined in the hot dish. It's so delicious that it's addictive. This would be even more delicious with additional ingredients like "shrimp" or "scallops" for added flavor. While there's no broth, even a "hamburger" would enhance the taste of the doria. This time, it was oysters and bacon, but with an added broth, it would be even more flavorful.
