I came to Kyoto with plans to watch a play. On the first day of my break, I overslept and arrived around 3 PM, struggling to find an open place and ended up here. Since it's Kyoto, I really didn't want to go to a chain restaurant. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. The restaurant specializes in Lu Rou Fan and Ji Rou Fan. I love Lu Rou Fan since my trip to Taiwan, but I had never had a satisfying one in Japan until now. The dish here was boldly spicy and delicious. I ordered the Taiwan Experience Set with Lu Rou Fan, which came with noodles and cake. My wife had the Ji Rou Fan with soup. The Lu Rou Fan here was unmatched in satisfaction compared to what I've had in Japan. I told her how spicy it was, and while she appreciated it, she mentioned that this version is different from the local taste. My wife’s Ji Rou Fan was almost the same as Khao Man Gai. The tea was lovely, too. I had Tie Guan Yin and Osmanthus tea, and since it was hot outside, I opted for iced. They also offered a taste of the hot tea as a service. There was an event for a 15-minute foot massage for 2000 yen, so I went for that as well.

The restaurant where you can enjoy Taiwanese tea and rice dishes is located in a slightly tricky spot, but you can easily find it with a map. The second floor is a massage area, while the first floor is a café space, adorned with super cute Taiwanese-themed decor! When you open the entrance door, you'll hear the sound of a cat meowing, but it's actually the sound of the entrance chime, with no real cats inside. After receiving a foot reflexology treatment on the second floor, I had lunch on the first floor! Both the food and tea were delicious, and the foot reflexology was really pleasant too! They also sell Taiwanese masking tape and other goods in the store, so if you're interested, be sure to check it out. Thank you for the lovely experience!
