I felt hungry at 2:00 and late at night, so I searched for restaurants open on Tabelog's location search and visited Tonkatsu for the first time. The restaurant is quite spacious and only open for lunch. I ordered the squid sashimi set meal. Although it's the same squid, the way it's cut and the size are different. I was worried about getting bored halfway through, but with lemon, wasabi, and ginger provided, I was able to enjoy it until the end without getting tired of it. I visited the restaurant late at night and stayed until closing, but the staff kindly welcomed me and provided excellent service until the end. Thank you for the meal!

You can also enjoy it with grated ponzu sauce in addition to the special sauce. The pork has a rich flavor and a tender texture typical of fillet. The breading is not too oily and the tonkatsu is delicious. The miso soup had a strong kelp flavor which was also tasty. The side dishes were squid salad and chawanmushi. The squid salad was a bit salty. The chawanmushi had a good taste, with a hint of white miso. The rice was fluffy and delicious. Overall, I thought this tonkatsu set meal had a refined quality compared to places like "Katsuzen" or "Agemaku". It felt like I experienced the strength of the Fueen group.

In January 2021, I had a day off to use up my compensatory day off. I went out to town with my partner for lunch on a weekday, but the restaurant we were planning to visit had a sign saying they were taking a break from serving lunch. It's a common situation on food review websites. So, we decided to try "Tonki" instead, which we hadn't visited in about 8 years. The atmosphere had changed and improved since our last visit. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal, while my partner ordered the tuna roll set meal. The clientele seemed to be mostly older people, and there weren't many table seats. I thought they could use more tables. The pork cutlet set meal came with two pieces of pork cutlet, which was surprisingly not as huge as I had imagined. The tuna roll set meal was delicious, made with real tuna. The soba broth had a strong bonito flavor and was very tasty. The pork cutlet set meal was good, but the tuna roll set meal was more balanced and affordable, making it a recommended choice. The self-serve coffee after the meal was a nice touch, and overall, it was a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal. They only open for lunch on weekdays, but I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

I visited around 12:00 on a weekday. There were a few customers inside the restaurant. I ordered the ginger pork. It was served in about 10 minutes. The pork slices were large and coated in sauce. The taste was quite average. I would like to try the tonkatsu next time. If you are nearby, definitely give it a try.

We visited around 12:15 on November 17, 2020, with two people. The restaurant was spacious with only a few customers. We were seated at a 4-person table. I ordered the 150g pork cutlet set with extra rice, and my companion ordered the pork bowl set. We were served complimentary coffee before our meals arrived. The food was delicious. The 150g pork cutlet may not look very big, but it was incredibly tasty. It came with miso soup, salad, mini chawanmushi, and pickles. The side dishes were also very tasty. My companion enjoyed the pork bowl and udon. After finishing our meal, we had another cup of coffee. The service was polite and we left satisfied. If you're looking to eat tonkatsu in Kushiro, I would definitely want to eat here again.

Lunch on this day was with a friend at Tonki. We arrived around 13:10. There were 3 groups of customers before us and 1 group after us.
Our orders were:
- Katsudon set for 950 yen
- Rosukatsu Teishoku (120g) for 1000 yen
The food was served in about 13 minutes. The katsudon set came with a mini soba on the side, which we requested to be served warm. The katsudon was delicious, with a thick and flavorful cutlet, topped with egg, onions, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and mitsuba. The sauce was to our liking, and the soba served as a nice soup alternative.
If we were to rate just the katsudon, it would be a 3.5 out of 5.
The Rosukatsu Teishoku included rosukatsu, rice, miso soup, and chawanmushi. The cutlet was crispy but the meat itself was a bit dry and lacked flavor. The sauces provided were just regular ketchup and sauce. The miso soup with wakame and green onions had a good taste, and the chawanmushi was a deluxe version with shrimp and chestnuts.
The service at Tonki was polite, and they offered tea upon arrival. They also had complimentary coffee in the self-service area. Although there is no parking at the restaurant, if you spend over 2000 yen, you can get a 30-minute parking voucher for Pastel Park nearby, which was a nice gesture.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Thank you.

When I came to the festival, I was too early for the festivities these days. It turns out that the festival starts on the 13th night~ So I decided to have an early lunch, and I visited this place. As soon as I arrived at the entrance, the curtain was raised. Perfect timing! My companion ordered the sushi set with cold soba noodles from the lunch menu. I ordered the mini chirashi sushi set with warm soba noodles from the lunch menu. The restaurant is spacious with several tatami rooms lined up. I always feel the most relaxed when eating in a tatami room. It took a bit longer than expected for the food to arrive, probably because we came right when the restaurant opened and the staff were still getting organized. But when the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. My first impression was that even though it was a mini seafood bowl, the quality of the ingredients was high and there was a variety of toppings. Needless to say, the seafood bowl was delicious. The rice was also cooked perfectly. The soba noodles had a deep green color. The dashi broth was a bit light, but overall it was a good meal with salad and chawanmushi included for a thousand yen. Good taste, good price, satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

During the day, I wandered around the bustling district of Kushiro called "Suehiro" looking for a place to have lunch. I couldn't find any open restaurants for a while, but eventually stumbled upon one that was open. I decided to go in and take a look. The interior of the restaurant was a traditional soba shop, quite spacious. I found a seat in the raised tatami area on the left side. However, there was cigarette smoke in the air as smoking was allowed. Disappointing. I looked at the menu and ordered the "Mini Don Set with Katsudon" as I wanted to try both soba and katsu. After a 10-minute wait, the mini don set was served. I tried the soba first... it was lukewarm and the noodles were overcooked and not tasty. When I tried to pick up the noodles with my chopsticks, they clumped together. It seemed like they had been boiled and left in a strainer for too long. This was unacceptable even if they were busy. The katsudon, on the other hand, had a decent flavor with a slightly thin cutlet. It was okay. Overall, it was a disappointing experience at Suehiro. I think I'll take a nap to prepare for the evening.

Welcome! Located in a quiet corner of the bustling district of Suehiro-cho in Kushiro City, this restaurant may seem unassuming from the outside. The spacious interior features a large hall with traditional raised tatami seating, favored by the elegant older ladies. The menu caters to the older clientele with healthy options like set meals, rice bowls, and soba sets. The tea served as a substitute for water is particularly delicious. I tried the half and half set with a tender fillet cutlet rice bowl and a refreshing zaru udon. The broth in the rice bowl was subtly flavored, highlighting the richness of the egg, while the cutlet was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and juicy meat inside. The rice was cooked slightly firm, offering a hint of sweetness. The zaru udon, on the other hand, had a chewy texture that differed from the firmness of Sanuki udon, and was finished off with a refreshing dashi-soaked pickled radish. The gentle flavors of these dishes have remained unchanged over the years, creating a cozy atmosphere that is beloved by the older patrons. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

"Tonki" I have been told "Let's have this Tonkichi" but I have never been told "Let's have this tonki" I am in Kushiro I am alone Skiing is over and it's too early for mountain climbing, so I don't practice golf and there is nothing else to do now. Tomorrow, I have a day off that matches with someone, but I don't feel like going anywhere. I am thinking of changing the tires or tidying up around the house. My wife is working, so I haven't been to Kushiro in a while. Let's go there. Activity start. I left earlier than usual, so I hope I can write a little more efficiently. There are not many places where I can earn money efficiently, and my time is being spent on traveling, so I am not able to earn much. Next is a note about "Tonki". It says "Oyakodon" but I don't like donburi dishes. Why is it oyakodon at the end? Well, I'll make a phone call according to the note. I called just in time and a woman answered. She was very friendly, and just her phone manners alone deserve 4 points. "Can I get a takeout of oyakodon?" "Yes, it will be ready in 30 minutes." Can you make it faster? I have another order waiting. She managed to make it in 15 minutes. Sorry, I was in the middle of the city. It seems quite high class. Isn't oyakodon expensive? Rather than that, isn't this not the kind of place you would order oyakodon from? She was a very cheerful lady, friendly, and I felt like becoming a regular customer. And it's cheap too. Surprisingly, it was just reheated, but it was elegant and you could sense the broth. The eggs were fluffy and the rice was served separately, so it wasn't mushy. Although the meat didn't stand out as much as I would have liked, overall, it was a delicious oyakodon.
