On this holiday, I went to a restaurant called Sankai that I had reserved for 5:30 PM. My brother-in-law and I ordered the all-you-can-drink alcohol, while my wife ordered the all-you-can-drink soft drinks. We toasted with my brother-in-law after a long time of not seeing each other! (mid-sip) My wife had a ginger ale as an appetizer. The recommended menu for April 15th included an assorted sashimi platter (which we always order at Sankai because their sashimi is top-notch!), Sapporo Classic beer (in a medium bottle, which was a nice touch for the all-you-can-drink option), a warm egg Caesar salad (ordered by my wife, but the men didn't touch it), grilled white liver skewers (ordered by me, not very impressive), rich and creamy cheese tofu (my wife always orders this at Sankai, the cheese flavor is amazing), a strong lemon sour, salmon yukhoe (my brother-in-law devoured it), fried squid and shrimp with spicy mayo, natto rolls, leaf wasabi and burdock root rolls (ordered by my wife), hot oolong tea (ordered by my wife), my brother-in-law always had a beer mug, aged dried Atka mackerel (I suddenly felt like having grilled fish, and it was delicious with its fatty texture), deep-fried chicken cartilage (I usually order this at izakayas), rolled omelette with spicy cod roe and cheese, Sankai-style teriyaki chicken, soft-serve ice cream in a pot (vanilla, ordered by my wife), and finally, ramen for the finishing touch (apparently I had ramen too). We ended up extending the all-you-can-drink option three times before calling it a night. I don't think I'll have many more chances to drink with my brother-in-law at Sankai, but it was a fun night catching up and chatting after a long time!
