On the way back from my trip to Hakodate, I was full and waiting for the bus to the ferry terminal. I was reminiscing about my trip while reflecting on horse racing and decided to have a Sapporo Classic with chilled tomatoes. It's easy to drink and refreshing!

I had some time before catching the train, so I decided to have a quick drink. I went for a Sapporo Classic. I also ordered a set with 3 snacks, which was a good deal. Since I didn't have much time, I ordered another drink and paid the bill. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting the Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, we went to this restaurant located on the second floor after exiting the ticket gate at Hakodate Station. We were seated at an empty table and ordered the "Seafood Hitsumabushi" from the menu. My wife ordered the "Deep-fried Squid Bowl." After a short wait, our dishes were served, and the variety of seafood looked delicious. We started by eating the seafood bowl as is, and it tasted great with the vinegared rice. We then poured tea over the hitsumabushi, which was light and also delicious. It's nice that there is a 0km post at Hakodate Station, the final stop. Next time we visit Hakodate Station, we would like to try a different menu item.

JR Hakodate Station in December 2022. It was the end of a fun trip, with only 40 minutes left until the express train departure. I decided to visit a restaurant on the 2nd floor of the station, which had a variety of options. Despite its lively exterior, the interior was stylish and had a great atmosphere. I quickly ordered the "casual drinking set" which included one drink and three snacks for 1280 yen. The cold beer was delicious and arrived promptly. The daily snack set included chilled tofu, fried squid legs, and a simmered fish paste dish. The chilled tofu was smooth and refreshing, the fried squid legs were crispy and tasty, and the simmered dish had a delicious sweet and savory sauce. I enjoyed my meal to the last minute before heading back to catch my train, where I slept soundly. Thank you for the meal!

On a Sunday afternoon, with some time before my flight, I decided to have a light drink to pass the time. It was a bit challenging to find a place in Hakodate. I searched the Asaichi Market area and Matsukaze-cho area, but couldn't find any open shops. Ramen shops were open, but I wasn't hungry enough for a bowl of ramen. I gave up and headed back to the station to retrieve my luggage from the coin locker and head to the airport, when I came across a savior. There was a shop right in front of the coin locker space on the 2nd floor of the station that was open continuously. They served soba, udon, and also operated as an izakaya. I immediately entered the shop and ordered the "Choi Nomii Set" (1,408 yen) listed on the A signboard. For my drink, I chose Sapporo Classic in a mug. The shop had a few customers, including some like me who were there to pass the time. There is definitely a demand for this kind of place! To the tourism association, please increase the number of shops open for lunch. The beer arrived quickly, and I let out a satisfied sigh. The set came with three appetizers. First, some kind of chilled tofu. It was simple but delicious. I ordered another beer. Next, I tried the simmered fried chicken. It had a good volume and tasted great. Finally, I had the fried squid and eggplant. It had a sweet and savory garlic flavor. This was also delicious. I also ordered the San'ya (770 yen) on the rocks and Hakodate-made salted fish roe (473 yen) as additional items. It was turning into more than just a light drink. The salted fish roe was labeled as being from Hakodate, but it was the usual type found in mainland Japan, not the black roe with intestines that is common in Hakodate. Nevertheless, it was tasty. I achieved my goal of passing the time and having a light drink. Thank you for the meal. September 11, 2022, 3:28.

I safely arrived at Hakodate Station and decided to kill time before checking into my hotel. I found a shop inside the station and entered around 1:30 PM. I was directed to sit at the counter and looked at the menu. I was intrigued by the drink set which came with three small dishes, so I ordered that. I also added a draft beer (Sapporo Classic), bringing the total to 2013 yen. The three dishes that came with the set were chilled tofu (topped with sesame oil-like sauce), fried squid legs (with garlic-flavored sauce), and a vegetable tempura-like dish. All three dishes paired well with the alcohol, so I decided to order an additional drink. It was a nice start to my visit to Hakodate. The shop had a good selection of alcohol and a variety of dishes, including soba and udon. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I had the squid tempura soba for 858 yen (tax included) just before closing. It's located inside JR Hakodate Station, outside the ticket gate so it's convenient for those not taking the train or waiting for one. It's great for lunch, izakaya, or any meal. The restaurant was empty when I went in, but the staff was very kind and didn't show any signs of annoyance. The serving time was short, and I quickly finished the delicious meal (lol). The squid tempura was like a fritter style, but for this price, I was very satisfied. The soba had a nice firm texture and was tasty! It's hard to tell if it's frozen because the texture is still good. There were too many menu options that caught my eye. I definitely want to come back again.

From Hakodate Airport, I took a bus to Hakodate Station, then headed straight here. I ordered a Sapporo Classic beer. I also got a snack set with chicken karaage. It had tofu, deep-fried squid, and a frankfurter. The deep-fried squid was delicious. It's been a while since I had Sapporo Classic, and it's still great, even though it's been two months.

Welcome.---------- December 2020 ----------Found a cozy spot for salt ramen and beer at Hakodate Station 2F |o| °д°)ノ Hello Cafe or Saten, it feels like a Showa-era Saten inside. Opens at 11 am, with a lunch menu and a drink menu for day drinking. The "Bara Chirashi" is just one coin, but the visual is a bit sad. Tuna, salmon, flounder, and tamagoyaki in bite-sized pieces on top. It's a quick and easy bowl, but the rice was lacking. Not sushi rice, more like vinegared rice. Seems like a spot for locals waiting for the train rather than tourists. The staff are nice people though.

I visited "Hokkaido, a Treasure Trove of Food" on this day. Looking at it again, it's quite a remarkable name for a restaurant... It's located on the 2nd floor of JR Hakodate Station. When I arrived around 2 pm, there were 2 groups of customers already there and 2 groups came in after me. I sat at the counter and immediately ordered the "drinking set" that I had my eye on before entering, with the help of the waitress who brought me water. Soon, a beer and Matsumae pickles arrived. The beer was "Sapporo Classic." The beer was so satisfying and then chilled tofu was served. The tofu was delicious, made by a well-established tofu shop. As I finished the beer, before the arrival of the third dish, I ordered another beer. Along with the beer, fried whole squid arrived. The sauce for the fried squid was similar to the Genghis Khan sauce from a certain company, but it was delicious. I thought about having another beer, but considering it was only lunchtime, I decided to settle the bill. My body, which was craving beer, was now satisfied.

June 2018 (800 yen) Travel to Hakodate, Hokkaido. Had lunch at Hokkaido-san, a food treasure trove on the 2nd floor of Hakodate Station. It was a late lunch, so it was not crowded. I sat at the counter since I was dining alone. I ordered the fried squid rice bowl. The fried squid legs were crispy and delicious. I wanted to eat them raw (but had to avoid raw food for a week due to certain circumstances). The seasoning was a bit sweet for my taste. It wasn't bad, but I didn't quite like it. Maybe it would be good as a side dish for alcohol (but I was also avoiding alcohol during this period). Thank you for the meal.

Please reconsider the Hokkaido chicken curry that I had. The curry and rice need to be reevaluated.

I am at Hakodate Station, it's evening and I am going back to Sapporo by JR. I haven't eaten lunch and have been busy all day, so I want to eat and drink before I move, but I only have about 30 minutes. I go up to the second floor of the station building on an escalator. In front of me is "Ajisai" but I don't feel like having ramen. To the left, there is a restaurant called "Shoku no Hokkoku Hokkaido" which offers a variety of dishes from Western food to soba. The bold name suggests that they are taking on Hokkaido's food. I am directed to a counter seat facing the wall by a male staff member. There are 2 groups of 2 customers already seated. I quickly look at the menu but nothing catches my eye, and I don't have time to leisurely drink and eat. I decide on a "Sapporo Classic" beer for 550 yen and "Cold squid tempura with grated daikon soba" for 780 yen (excluding tax). I sip on the beer while waiting for the soba. It arrives in 7 minutes, with six 3cm square squid tempura pieces, with wasabi on the side. The soba is not very cold, more like room temperature. I won't go into detail about the soba. The squid tempura is soft, and I realize I haven't had squid in a while due to poor catches. The dipping sauce is a bit salty, and they don't offer soba water. It's a typical restaurant inside a station building. Thank you for the meal.
