Visit date: Saturday, March 12, 2022, around 9:30 am. A bakery located along the tram street towards the Bay Area after getting off at Juji Street Station. I stopped by because every 12th of the month is "Bread Day" and you can buy bread at a discount. The origin dates back to April 12, 1842, when Tarozaemon Egawa made the first bread in Japan, making April 12th the "Bread Memorial Day". Oh, that's interesting ('∇') By the way, when the 12th falls on a Sunday, which is a regular holiday, it is held the day before, so rest assured. They open at 7 am, and the interior of the store is so small that it can't accommodate more than 5 customers. Despite the limited space, a variety of bread is packed tightly on display. Some examples include Yakisoba Dog, Castella, Sandwich, Omelette, Old-fashioned Miso Bread, Chikuwa Roll, Croissant, Hamburger, Piroshki, and Goto-ken Curry Bread, to name a few. The prices range from ¥100 to ¥200 per piece, which is quite reasonable. They also deliver bread to a nearby high school's shop. It's a nice little touch that they offer one piece of bread crust per person. I chose the following three items for a snack during my stroll: - Strawberry Omelette ¥270 - Aged Pan ¥129 - Goto-ken Curry Bread ¥194 The total came to ¥477 after a 20% discount from the regular prices. - Goto-ken Curry Bread: This bread uses the famous Goto-ken curry, giving it a luxurious taste. You can feel a hint of spiciness, but it's a delicious mild curry. The crispy cheese on the bottom of the bread adds a nice touch, with a fragrant toasted curry flavor that was delicious. They have limited quantities daily, so be sure to get yours early! Overall, the location is great, and the prices are affordable, making it easy to drop by anytime. They offer a variety of original savory bread, as well as sweets like cream puffs and éclairs. Payment via PayPay is not accepted. Check out their Instagram @moritapan7 for videos as well.
