Oh, what a cute cup! I took a sip... Hmm? It has a unique flavor, almost like "pickles" at first taste. Not in a bad way, but for some reason, that's how it felt. As time passed, I got used to the taste, which had a subdued bitterness and a strong acidity with a rich and complex flavor. The description mentioned it was from Indonesia, with a "rich aroma reminiscent of strawberries or plum wine, a fruity sweetness that lingers for a long time." I went shopping in Shin-Sapporo as usual, walking around the entire store until I was exhausted. I took a break here and ordered a "Cold Brew Iced Coffee" (580 yen). I always thought cold brew coffee was easy to drink without any bitterness, but the one here was quite strong and intense in flavor. It was described as "Smooth texture with a deep aroma and sweetness like black sugar [Candelaria Jamie]." I also ordered a "Caramel Apple Scone" (336 yen), which was served hot with whipped cream. The surface was crispy like a cookie, while the inside was moist with diced apples and a subtle caramel flavor. It was a slightly sophisticated taste for me. For train users, this location is not somewhere you would normally pass by, but sometimes getting lost isn't so bad, haha. Classic Mocha: carefully savor the first sip. I've been exploring Mocha and found a brand that I quite like, but sometimes you come across a really sour one, which is a characteristic of Mocha. This one has a good balance of bitterness and acidity, very delicious. But when paired with a strongly sweet cake, the delicate aroma gets drowned out. Mont Blanc: Hmm, this is quite a good Mont Blanc. It has a condensed chestnut flavor, so it's sweet overall but well-balanced. I also sense a hint of rum. It's a very delicious Mont Blanc on its own, but I can't help but think it might be better suited for tea. It seems like more shops are focusing on their food items, although it may sound strange to say they have a "focus". Our shop has a high level of cakes, and it seems like they are trying to move away from being just a coffee shop. But with the limited seating, they probably wouldn't want customers lingering too long. Maybe they won't become famous for curry like the shop in Jinbocho, Ethiopia. Both of today's items are highly recommended.

I am adjusting my time in Shin-Sapporo. Let's have coffee at "Kaficha-kan" where there are two female staff members. It is a small shop with a counter, table seats, and a completely separated smoking room at the back of the shop. I ordered the "Guatemala" coffee for 470 yen (tax included). Most of the straight coffees are offered at the same price as the blend, which is a good impression. They carefully grind and brew the coffee. Every time I visit, I feel like I am getting cheap and delicious coffee. After about an hour, I received a refill of coffee, and the second cup is half price. I had been to the Paul Town store many times, so when I found it with Duo, I was so happy that I jumped in. The 1971 Blend of Kaho Tea House and the Bacon Cheese Sandwich were both exquisite, satisfying my heart and stomach. The staff's service was excellent and pleasant. I bought a ticket, so I will visit frequently. Young man, work hard with confidence and pride.

The one that caught my eye the most was the "Kahi Chakan 1971 Blend." In January 2016, this cafe is located in the underground floor of New Sapporo Duo 1. In the complex area of New Sapporo, this cafe serves as a landmark for me to go to Duo. I visited after shopping in New Sapporo. It is a small cafe with only counter seats. I ordered an iced coffee, and there were two types available - cold brew and drip. I prefer cold brew coffee, so I asked for that. They also offer a morning set with toast and boiled eggs. The coffee had a nice aroma and was very delicious. The toast was served in 5-6 minutes, and it was thick with a cube of butter, which was delightful. The toast was fluffy and delicious. The boiled egg was cooked just right, with a softness that was tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I took a break here after climbing in this area and my stomach was full. The interior of the restaurant, with its L-shaped counter seats, was surprisingly authentic, giving off a slightly high-class vibe. Light jazz music was playing in the background. Normally, I would order something French-inspired from the menu, but it seemed like they didn't have that, so I found something called "Nantoka Select"! I tried to ask the waiter about it, but he seemed to be unwell or have a stuffy nose, and since I also have hearing problems, I couldn't make out what he was saying and had to give up. So, I ended up ordering the recommended Amarello Bourbon (470 yen), which had a description mentioning a Brazilian coffee union and "a rare variety of small golden beans with a refreshing acidity and slight bitterness." I took a sip and before drinking, I could smell the unique aroma of the beans, and while tasting it, I could feel a different flavor of beans, as well as the refreshing acidity and light bitterness. It was a nice experience enjoying the taste of the beans, whether they were specifically from Brazil or not. Thank you for the meal.

In the basement of Duo II in the Shin-Sapporo area, there is a specialty coffee shop called Kafuka Tea House. Kafuka Tea House originally started in 1971 on the basement 2nd floor of the Kinki Kuniya Building on Odori Avenue. At this Duo location, they sell coffee beans, operate a cafe space, and have recently started offering takeout options. On a revisit on September 11, 2014 at 7 pm, after wandering around the Shin-Sapporo Dungeon wholesale supermarket for dinner groceries, I stumbled upon Kafuka Tea House while walking towards Sanpiazza. They had a menu for takeout coffee displayed outside, indicating that they had started offering takeout coffee as well. The battle against convenience store coffee has begun, with even long-standing coffee shops now offering takeout options. As a non-smoker, I often inquire about takeout options at various shops, and while many have said they do not offer it, Kafuka Tea House was one of the few that did. I decided to give it a try and ordered their Super Selection coffee, which is brewed using the unique triangular paper filter method. In my opinion, Kafuka Tea House's takeout coffee offers better value than convenience store coffee, and I look forward to revisiting and reviewing their offerings in the future.

The taste seems consistent across different stores, and the quality is reliable. The store has a small space with about 10 counter seats and limited seating, so it may not be the most relaxing environment for everyone. The store is located in a busy area along a shopping mall street, so it can get noisy during peak hours. It may appeal to those who enjoy a quick cup of coffee at a bustling spot or regulars who appreciate the familiarity of the place. Despite not being crowded, the store has managed to stay in business for years, possibly due to a loyal customer base.
