I finally got to visit the soba restaurant that was always crowded during lunchtime. I had the warm soba with squid tempura for 850 yen. The soba and dipping sauce were average, but the squid tempura, which is popular here, was soft and delicious.

The restaurant is too close to home, so I haven't had a chance to visit yet. But I've been curious and wanting to try it someday. Today, I finished my errands in the morning and haven't eaten two meals, so I want to eat now! It's already the end of summer, and I tried the "Squid Tempura Soba." It was just as I imagined. The soba, tempura, and a little grated radish were nothing special. It's a cold soba dish, so I couldn't adjust the salty sauce. Hmm, it's too salty. Oh well, that's disappointing. Thank you for the meal!

I had soba at Marukyo. It's a well-established restaurant with a long history. They have table seats, a tatami room, and a counter, and surprisingly, the place is quite spacious for a long-standing establishment. I ordered the cold soba with tempura squid. The soba noodles are thin, and the broth is a dipping style with plenty of noodles. The tempura squid has a crispy coating and is very tender. The bite-sized pieces are great. Other bloggers have also praised this dish, and I can see why. I finished off with soba-yu (hot soba water) and slurped it up. Oh, just a heads up, the bowl is a bit tricky to drink from. Thanks for the meal.

The local residents, taxi drivers, and salarymen love this soba restaurant in town. While you don't pay with food tickets, some customers prefer to pay upfront to the staff. If it's your first time here, I recommend trying the squid tempura with grated radish. The perfectly fried bite-sized squid and slurp-worthy soba will disappear in no time.

Mostly frequented by locals, this soba shop has been around for a long time and is not particularly clean. I ordered the squid tempura soba in a regular size, and it arrived fairly quickly. The soba noodles are thin and have a good texture. The dipping sauce is on the stronger side, which I personally like. The squid tempura was tender with a crispy batter and delicious. The regular size may be a bit small for some people, so those with a big appetite may prefer the large size.

I visited Marukyo on this day. When I entered the restaurant a little after the opening time of 10:30, there were 2 groups of customers ahead of me and 4 groups behind me. It's a rare sight in Hakodate to see a restaurant open on time. I sat at the counter and quickly decided on my order, the "squid tempura with grated radish soba." The soba arrived in about 2 minutes after ordering, so they must have prepared the tempura and soba in advance. The squid tempura was crispy and delicious, and the soba dipping sauce with tempura crumbs was also tasty. I read in various reviews that the portion size was quite large, but I didn't find it to be that way. I finished it easily. Well, everyone has their own opinion, right?

We used it for lunch with the staff. We ordered the famous squid tempura with grated daikon on soba noodles. The soba noodles are not hand-made and the squid is not particularly high-quality, but it is delicious! It seems to have slightly reduced in portion compared to before, but it's a taste that you occasionally crave. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I visited Marukyo and had the squid tempura soba with grated daikon. The taste was as delicious as ever. It was a bit disappointing that the price had gone up, but thank you for the meal.

Had lunch at Marukyo, a popular local soba restaurant. Ordered the medium-sized squid tempura soba with grated daikon. The soba noodles were firm and tasty, with a refined texture. The squid tempura was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you're in Hakodate, be sure to try it out.

I ate cold dipping soba at Nukiyama in Hakodate. I chose the medium size. The noodles were smooth and chewy, very delicious. It was a bit disappointing that the interior of the restaurant was dark (lol).

I received a revelation that I must eat the Squid Tempura Soba! Visited the restaurant with an old-fashioned atmosphere, long and narrow like an eel's bed. The amount of soba was too much for me, but the taste was universally loved by everyone.

I had the most popular dish at a popular soba restaurant near Hakodate Red Brick Warehouse, the Squid Tempura Soba with Grated Daikon for 800 yen. The tempura squid was crispy and plentiful, served in an easy-to-eat size. The soba noodles were thin but had a firm texture typical of Soba noodles. The broth was rich and slightly sweet, perfect for slurping. As I was enjoying my meal, a customer who entered the restaurant ordered what seemed like a medium-sized portion, but it turned out to be a hearty large portion of soba. Even though the regular portion was already generous, I was feeling that it wasn't enough, so I felt envious of their large portion. Next time, I'll order the medium size. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
