In early spring, the nights can feel a bit chilly, making it a delicate time of year. When dressed lightly, it can feel quite cold. While drinking around the Shinsaibashi area, we decided to have hot pot, so we started looking around. As we walked through the shopping arcade, we spotted a sign for offal hot pot down a side alley. Although we found the sign, the entrance was at the back, so we continued along the path. The reception was on the second floor, and we were quickly shown to our table. The staff was very proactive in recommending dishes, which was great because it made me feel comfortable while ordering. I really like places like this when I'm a bit unsure.
**What we ordered:**
- Original Offal Hot Pot with Soy Sauce - 1078 yen
- Fatty Offal Topping - 550 yen
- Extra Bean Sprouts and Chives - from 220 yen
- Noodle Finish - 330 yen
- Chilled Cucumber - 385 yen
Since we came for hot pot, we went with the most classic option. Fortunately, even if there are just two of us, we could order one serving since that’s sufficient for most appetites. This place could be great for a bar hop, too. They had a lot of topping options, and the staff kindly explained which ones pair well with each flavor. Adding the fatty offal enhanced the richness and provided a delightful juiciness. As we cooked it, the vegetables wilted nicely, and the offal beef had a wonderful plumpness, making it a perfect time to eat. The sweetness of the offal was incredibly satisfying, causing me to smile with each bite. The vegetables soaked up that delicious flavor, and before we knew it, our pot was empty, so it was time to finish off.
While the classic option is usually champon (a type of noodle), I decided to go with noodles that absorbed the broth well. I added vegetables for texture and volume. Even after simmering for a while, the noodles retained their bounciness, and I couldn't stop eating them. It really warmed me up and was a comforting taste. At around 1000 yen for a serving, it’s a great option for a small group, but it also makes you want to come with friends to try a bit of everything. The staff were energetic and attentive, creating a warmth that felt even more inviting than the hot pot itself. They also have meat-soup hot pot and other varieties during winter, so I definitely want to return!
