Furano's motorcycle group held a year-end party in Biei town. We were invited by the members and headed to a restaurant in front of JR Biei Station. We apologize to the designated driver. The set menu with all-you-can-drink for 4000 yen included a hot pot with a generous amount of ingredients such as king crab legs and shrimp piled high on plates. The pot had a delicious broth. We also had sashimi with octopus, squid, shrimp, tuna, and mackerel. The omusoba was also very filling. Lastly, there was a large block of tofu served as cold tofu. It was a delicious and voluminous banquet menu. There were about 15 male members in attendance. Except for the designated driver, everyone else was quite drunk. The staff at the restaurant served us with smiles and patience, even with our drunken state. Thank you. It was a delicious meal.

Around 4:00 PM on the same day, I made a phone reservation for 6:00 PM with 4 adults dining in. It was after Golden Week and a weekday, but there were already customers seated at tables or in reserved seats, aside from the counter. Since there was no all-you-can-drink option, I started with my usual extra-large glass of Acerola Shochu Highball. They provided a complimentary appetizer for those who ordered alcohol. On this day, we had boiled broccoli wrapped in prosciutto (2 servings). Since there was only one chef and the kitchen could get slow when busy, I decided not to order more and placed all our orders at once. We ordered daikon radish salad, assorted sashimi, chicken skewers, pork skewers, baby quail skewers, small fried shrimp, pizza, potato chips, and burdock chips. I usually always order the famous fried squid first, but lately they haven't been able to serve it due to a shortage of squid. Although the individual prices are a bit high, the portions are suitable for sharing among 5-6 people. The flavors were consistently delicious, although nothing particularly stood out. Unfortunately, I couldn't take photos of everything we ordered, but overall, it was a tasty meal once again. I plan to visit again in August.

This is a bustling restaurant. This time, two men went there. The restaurant usually costs around 2000 yen per person, including alcohol and food, but my companion was a heavy drinker, so the cost ended up higher. I recommend the "Special Fried Squid" dish. It's very filling, with a large portion, and the taste is... well, delicious (laughs). I especially recommend going with a larger group. Please note that reservations are required. It's conveniently located near the station (though not in the typical urban sense), so it may be useful for those without a car. For tourists, there are hotels very close to the station, so you could stay there and walk to the izakaya. The hotel information is available at http://www.biei-lavenir.com/ (the dinner venue at the hotel is a different restaurant). We have all the menu items listed for reference. It's hard to estimate the portion sizes (laughs), but I repeat, even if it's a lot, it's delicious.

On February 5th, I visited this restaurant with 8 gym buddies. The rumors were true - the portion sizes are incredibly huge! This place is not for couples - one dish will fill you up completely and you won't have room for anything else. You really need to come with a big group to finish the food (sweat). But you can also take the leftovers home. The prices are cheap and the food is pretty tasty! The specialty here is the squid legs for 500 yen - they're delicious with a sweet sauce. It's no wonder they're famous! I definitely want to come back with a big group again!

This shop is known for its large portions. The deep-fried squid is delicious! Other dishes are average, but it's always crowded with locals. A shop loved by the community. Personally, I recommend the boiled shrimp with salt. It's simple, just eat it with mayonnaise, but the texture is amazing.

This is a beloved izakaya in Biei. 1. There is no parking lot, so please use the free parking at the station. 2. The restaurant is spacious and bright, with a slightly enclosed 4-person table that you may be able to sit at if you go early and request it. If you don't like a noisy atmosphere, this place may not be for you. 3. The friendly and energetic husband and wife who run the place are very nice. 4. The dishes here are incredibly generous in portion size. The 700 yen yakisoba is enough to fill up two adult men, and the 500 yen fried squid legs may make you feel like your stomach is going to burst. The yakitori is also prepared with care, with each piece skewered individually by the wife. Although there isn't a distinct "Hokkaido" style, my friends who visited while traveling enjoyed everything. However, the place is always crowded, which can lead to delays in getting your food or even being forgotten. It's best to arrive early, especially on weekends when they may be full by 6:00 PM. Reservations are recommended, but even booking two weeks in advance may not guarantee a spot on weekends. Also, they are closed on Sundays. Despite these challenges, this izakaya is well-loved, so be sure to stop by.
