First visit on a business trip to Kitami! I was taken by a junior colleague. They said it's a blend of dried bonito, chicken, pork, and pork bone soup. I ordered the dried bonito soy sauce ramen for 750 yen. Toppings were only bamboo shoots and char siu. Hmm, I can't taste the soup much. Disappointing. The interior of the restaurant is hot and humid.

Saturday and Sunday ramen is 500 yen. It's cheap!! When they were in Bihoro, it felt even more delicious. Maybe it's just my imagination. The chashu tastes a bit salty. The salt ramen was delicious. Next time, I want to try the soy sauce ramen. The parking lot is hard to enter. You have to enter from the back of the shop, not from the front. The customer service is provided by a taciturn shop owner, and that's just how he is. I tried the miso ramen a while ago, but I recommend the salt one.

On weekends, I visited a cozy ramen shop called "Waki Ai Ai" where soy sauce and salt ramen cost 500 yen, while miso ramen costs 550 yen. I personally prefer the simple and flavorful "salt" ramen with a rich bonito broth. I like to visit different ramen shops in January, and this was my ninth stop this year. When I arrived at 11 o'clock, I was almost the only customer, just like today. I ordered the salt ramen and a side of small rice. The soup was a bit lighter on the salt than usual, but still tasty. However, I was disappointed by the thin slices of char siu which tasted dry this time. Despite feeling satisfied and full after finishing my meal for 600 yen, I hope they can improve a little more next time. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I couldn't help but compare it to my previous experience. Thank you for the meal.

11:00 entered the shop, no other customers. Ordered salt ramen and small rice. The clear salt ramen was delicious. The soup has a gentle taste, it's the essence of bonito broth. The soup and rice go well together. The chashu is grilled in a frying pan, crispy and juicy. It was a satisfying meal. Later, an older couple came in, maybe locals. Another person came in as I was leaving the shop. This ramen and rice for 600 yen is a good deal. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I felt like eating a light salt ramen, so I arrived at Kamajii at 11:00. When I entered, the owner was not there, so I brought some water. I decided to use the restroom while waiting for the owner to return. When I came out of the restroom, the salt ramen I ordered was already served. The soup was clean and delicious. This ramen is something I crave occasionally. The atmosphere on weekends is lively. The salt and soy sauce ramen are priced at 500 yen (miso is 550 yen). The chashu today seemed a bit small. It was nice to add some pepper for flavor. I almost finished all the soup, but I managed to resist. A couple came in after me, and they seemed to have walked here. They ordered the ramen for a coin. It seems like they are locals. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I always eat shio ramen, and I think the saltiness matches best with agodashi, so I have always stuck with shio. I have tried curry ramen before, but I always go back to shio. Today, I tried miso soup for the first time, and the moment I tasted it, the flavor of miso lingered on my tongue. I still think shio is the best! That's my impression.

I got a one-coin salt dish at a bustling sale, with a lightly flavored rice with bonito broth. It came with pickled vegetables. At 11:00, there were no other customers so I was able to eat quietly. Thank you for the meal.

It's neither good nor bad. The prices are average, neither high nor low. I might go back if I remember. I just feel like I want something more impactful.

I finally went to Kamajii, which I had been curious about for a while. For my next visit, I ordered the salt flavor that my acquaintance likes. It was labeled as "agodashi," but I didn't really taste the dashi flavor. The chashu that I was looking forward to was only one piece, and it was tough with a strong acidic flavor from being seared. The two pieces of sinew were also very disappointing. Overall, I didn't think it was worth the 750 yen price, and I don't plan on going back. The only good thing was, of course, that it was non-smoking. I can't speak for other flavors, but with this chashu, it was disappointing.

I was drawn in by the photos and decided to give this place a try. It was a bit tricky to find parking due to the high curbs on the main street, but I managed to enter from the back. When I arrived, there were three high school students and another customer already inside. I took a seat at the available counter and looked at the menu. The first thing that caught my eye was the "Ago Special" miso ramen. It arrived in just 3 minutes and the soup was delicious, light, and had a good dashi flavor. The smell wasn't overpowering and the noodles were easy to eat. The chashu had a slight aged smell but tasted average. However, the thick slice of meat at the end was satisfying.

"Kamajii" from Bihoro Town has opened a new branch in Kitami City. They serve a unique dish called "agodashi". On weekends, you can enjoy salt or soy sauce flavors for 500 yen, and miso flavor for 550 yen. Their curry ramen is also highly recommended. Although the owner may look intimidating, they serve delicious ramen.

Kitami! Yes, that's right! It's Kitami! So what?? Well, it's Kitami! After leaving the hospital, what should we do?? Hey, what should we do?? Soba? Ramen? Maybe ramen... Where should we go? I'll leave it up to you! Let's get started! I'll leave it up to you!! Alright, how about trying a ramen shop run by an elderly man who may be a bit unconventional? Huh! Is there such a place? I have no idea!! Yes, Kamajii!! During lunchtime, no other customers were there! How disappointing!! The radio playing in the background is so loud! The owner, who was neither an elderly man nor unconventional, only spoke the bare minimum! I wish they had at least said "Welcome" or something... I'll have the Agodashi ramen, and my friend will have the same! The chashu is cooked in a frying pan! Now, time to dig in. Overall, the soup has a gentle flavor, but it's not just gentle, it has a unique taste that doesn't end with just being gentle. However, it's not so strong that it emphasizes the flavor of the Agodashi. The chashu has a good texture and is well-seasoned! It's not a memorable ramen, but if it were in a bustling area and eaten as a final meal, it might be a satisfying bowl of ramen! The situation can really affect the taste of a dish!

Green Town, Taisho Street, Kitami City. I had heard good things about this ramen shop and it had caught my attention for a while. I went to "Kamajii" and it is located along Taisho Street, but you can't go directly in front of the shop. You have to park in the shop's parking lot by going around from a side street. We arrived around 11:30 am. The previous customers had finished eating and were leaving. Inside the shop, there was a slightly intimidating (excuse me~) shop owner and only my wife and I. The menu was posted on the wall, and almost all of the items started with the letter "ago"....^-^ Yes, the soup here is based on ago-dashi. I wonder if there's anything like this in Kitami. I had some expectations, so I ordered "ago shio" and my wife ordered "ago yuzu shio"? Yuzu, huh? It arrived in about 5-6 minutes. At first glance, it looked like a normal ramen. Let's eat~♪ I took a sip of the clear soup... Delicious! It has a gentle taste but the indescribable umami of ago-dashi! This is good! The noodles were soft, curly white noodles. The toppings were thick slices of chashu, menma, negi, and simple ingredients. I tried the "ago yuzu shio" that caught my interest. Oh~! This is also delicious! The yuzu flavor is just right~♪ Yuzu in the soup, huh~ It goes well. I was surprised. Before I knew it, we had finished eating. Both my wife and I almost finished the soup as well. The shop owner, who seemed intimidating (again, excuse me~), was actually very friendly when we talked to him. He shared stories about the difficulty of combining ago-dashi with chicken bones and pork bones to create the soup, as well as the birth of the menu through interactions with customers. It was delicious ramen (especially the soup)! Now I feel like eating miso ramen. I would like to go back again. o(^o^)o

◆August 2015◆
I went out to eat ramen for the first time in a while. I noticed that they have a special offer on weekends where ramen is only 500 yen, which is 250 yen off. I ordered my favorite, Kamajii special salt ramen, which has plenty of vegetables and 5 slices of chashu, making it very filling. The soup is light with a clear taste of clam. The chashu has a beautiful striped color and is not greasy, which I really like. I used to be able to finish it easily, but this time it was quite challenging. Maybe I'm not as young as I used to be, so a regular vegetable ramen might be enough for me now.

I thought I was done with eating out for the year, but suddenly decided to go to Kamajii! It had been about 2 years since my last visit, and I noticed a new part-time girl working there. The atmosphere has become brighter with the owner being able to focus on the ramen. It seems like they have added a lot of new items to the menu, including homemade "hisui noodles" with spinach mixed in. They also have a hisui yuzu series. I have tried the other items before, so this time I ordered the hisui tamago toji chashu ramen with salt. Wow! The ramen is green like the green soba in Kushiro. The soup is very mild and gentle due to the egg topping. It tastes like a soup with eggs and spinach. The crispy chashu is still delicious as always. The hisui noodles are interesting, but personally, I prefer the normal noodles.

The ramen shop "Kamajii" from Bihoro town has moved to Kitami.
【Location】
It is located on Taisho Street where popular ramen shops like Haruyoshi, Kamui, and Tanpopo are. It is in the place where there used to be a ramen shop called Koryu. If you mention it's across from Tanpopo, people should know.
【About the shop】
The shop in Bihoro was a renovated private house, which felt a bit odd to eat in a normal living room setting... However, the shop in Kitami was a former ramen shop, so the interior is normal but the exterior is quite unique. Please check it out with your own eyes.
【About the ramen】
The ramen here has a light soup based on "clam dashi" with chashu featuring striped color. The noodles are Fujihara medium noodles cooked slightly soft. This time, I ordered the "special curry ramen (1200 yen)" which I had never tried before. The curry is not thick like curry roux, but rather thin and spicy. The combination of curry and clam dashi was good, and it was refreshing to eat.

"Kamajii!" "Eeeehh? No way! Not me! I don't like it! It's not about me! How mean!" I told them their car in the parking lot had its lights on, but they didn't even say thank you. Even kids can say "Thank you!" The customer was eating noisily and had bad manners... I don't know if it was intentional. I sit at the counter, which has 8 seats in an L-shape with 2 tables in a raised area. A young lady is on the floor and a scary-looking man is in the kitchen. I ordered the salt ramen and it came in 3 minutes. The soup was light with a hint of ginger, the bamboo shoots had a good crunch, but the green onions weren't great. The pork slices were fatty, which I like. The noodles were slightly curly, maybe from Nishiyama? They relied a bit too much on seasoning, but I thought it was 750 yen, only to be surprised when it was 500 yen at the payment. Did I miss the menu on the wall saying 500 yen? I was a bit flustered... But it was delicious."
