After a certain amount of time has passed, the craving for ramen strikes. In Hokkaido, there is only one original ramen shop. I haven't been there yet, but there are many places that offer similar ramen. I visited one of these places in Teine Ward. Every time I passed by the store, the parking lot was always full, so today I went right at opening time. I arrived just before 11 am, and there were no other cars. I quickly purchased the "Thick Yamada Noodles" for 950 yen from the ticket machine. I handed it to the staff before sitting down and requested extra vegetables, garlic, less fat, and a side of rice. The seating at the counter was spaced out due to COVID-19. I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting. The soup pots seemed small, probably because each ramen has a different soup. The pork seemed to be kept warm in a jar for rice. The noodles were served in about 10 minutes. The bowl was large, and the amount of vegetables was less than expected. There was an unexpected amount of garlic. The pork was cut into pieces and seemed like boiled pork. The soup was very salty, even though I didn't ask for it to be spicy. The noodles were thick and had a good texture. The pork was flavored but lacked meatiness. I finished the noodles without any issues, but the soup was too salty to drink. The vegetables were overcooked and not crunchy. I made a mini chashu rice bowl with the remaining pork and rice, which was not bad. Overall, the ramen was decent, but the soup was too salty for my taste.

I asked Yamada to add garlic. I chose the usual Yamada noodles with garlic sauce for 1000 yen. Added garlic, caramel, and extra oil. Having table seating available is really helpful for me when adding garlic, as I usually dine with my family.

I tried the extra thick, wavy noodles inspired by Jiro-style ramen with all toppings. The rich pork bone soy sauce broth is delicious. The thick, flat noodles have a chewy texture and are incredibly tasty. With minced garlic and back fat, it truly feels like a sinful bowl of ramen. The abundance of bean sprouts also complements the soup well. The large chunks of sliced pork are meaty yet tender and flavorful. The bowl may look small due to its size, but there is actually a substantial amount of food. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, making it easy to place orders and creating a pleasant atmosphere.

I'm working in the Teine area of Sapporo City! For lunch, I'll go to "Menya Shodai Yamada," where I've been before. I'll order the limited-time Dan Dan noodles for 850 yen. Despite not liking spicy food, I want to try some spicy noodles today. The lunchtime special is a small rice for free, so I'll definitely ask for that. After waiting for about 10 minutes, my order is ready. Let's dig in! The appearance looks a bit spicy, but let's try the soup first. Huh? It's not that spicy! It has a mild spiciness, and it's a bit sweet. The soup is delicious. As for the noodles... they seem different. They are thin and somewhat brownish. When I eat them, they are firm and have a strong texture, almost like they are raw. It's like they took the noodles from miso stew udon in Nagoya and made them thin. I'm not a big fan of this texture. I'd prefer regular noodles with this soup. If this Dan Dan noodles become a regular menu item, I might ask for a different type of noodles. I had the complimentary rice and now I'm full. Thanks for the meal!

I found this shop on my way back from greeting rounds in the Zenikan area. It's located along the busy Shimoina-dori, so I hadn't noticed it before. There are a few parking spaces in front of the shop, but it's a bit difficult to get out because it's along the street. You order by purchasing a meal ticket. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the white miso ramen. The shop's recommendation seems to be the Jiro-style thick noodles. There's also a set that comes with a Garigari-kun soda... The interior of the shop has a calm cafe-like atmosphere. The ramen arrived 10 minutes later. The soup was sweet, which I like, and it paired perfectly with the noodles. Although it looked like it had a lot of oil, I was surprised at how easily I could eat it. It might be difficult to park in the winter, but I would still like to visit again.

Neighborhood Series: Probably a Jiro-style ramen shop in Shimoinadori. Visited during Sunday lunchtime. A few customers before and after me. Seems to be struggling despite being popular. As I am dining alone, I sit at the counter. There are about 3 staff members. The kitchen is visible and clean. They have paper mask cases available, showing the owner's consideration. Although I am of a certain age and not usually into rich Jiro-style ramen, I noticed they have a light salt ramen, so I decided to try it. Despite my age, I still feel young at heart. I couldn't resist adding toppings. I chose extra noodles for 100 yen, wood ear mushrooms for 100 yen, and a raw egg for 50 yen. I should have stopped there, but during lunchtime, half a serving of rice is free. After purchasing the tickets from the machine, the staff informed me about the free rice. It's hard to decline when it's recommended, right? The staff is really good at customer service. The taste, however, was a bit disappointing. The salt flavor was lacking, and the soup was mediocre with no distinct characteristics. So the raw egg was unnecessary. The rich soup would have been better with a raw egg, but it's not easy to eat a raw egg with simple salt ramen. Wood ear mushrooms also don't go well with salt ramen. They don't have much flavor, so they only go well with strongly flavored dishes. Salt ramen goes best with green onions or maybe seasoned bamboo shoots. Indulging in too many toppings without considering the dish's flavor profile is not a good idea. In a Jiro-style ramen shop, let's stick to Jiro-style ramen, even if I haven't tried it. Thank you for the meal.

I took the afternoon off to go to my regular doctor for my third vaccination. I stopped by "Menya Shodai Yamada" on the way for lunch. It's located along Shoten Street in Teine, and there are a few parking spots in front of the shop. I ordered the "Yamada Thick Noodles (small rice, no garlic, normal oil and vegetables)." Since I had to go to the hospital afterwards, I asked for no garlic. I was a bit greedy with the small rice, but the portion was huge. I was worried if I could finish it halfway through, but I managed to eat it all while enjoying the complimentary Gari-Soda (a combination of GariGari-kun and soda) as a palate cleanser. It had been a while since I had such a satisfying and filling meal. The complimentary Gari-Soda was a nice touch and much appreciated.

4/2022 ★ Salt Ramen for 650 yen
Located along the Shotoi Inari Street, this ramen shop offers thick noodles in a hearty broth. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly, using a ticket vending machine for ordering. The menu is extensive, with 7 standard flavors and various toppings to choose from. The recommended dish is the "Yamada Ramen," but I opted for the classic Salt Ramen for 650 yen. The appearance is simple, and the taste is orthodox and satisfying, with a clear chicken broth and firm noodles. The toppings included normal bamboo shoots, a creamy soft-boiled egg, plenty of green onions and spinach, and thick slices of flavorful chashu. It was a delicious meal, thank you! (^ω^)

I went to the hospital in the morning for a blood test, so I skipped breakfast! Since I didn't eat much last night, I was extremely hungry. The test results were looking good, so I decided to go to a ramen shop for the first time in a while! It was my first time visiting Yamada since July last year! I ordered the extra thick Yamada noodles in large size with extra vegetables and free rice! It arrived in about 10 minutes and it looked intimidating! I was worried if I could handle it... but being extremely hungry, I dug in. I reached my limit after eating about half of it, and there was still about 80% of the free rice left... I couldn't leave it after ordering a large size... so I pushed myself to finish it. I couldn't finish the soup, but I managed to eat all the noodles... I mixed the leftover rice with the soup and somehow finished it all! In the end, I realized that being greedy could lead to trouble. Lesson learned. Skipping dinner tonight.

Today, I stopped by the ramen restaurant Hatsu-Yamadasan located along the Shimoine Street for lunch. It's a place known for serving thick noodles, but I hadn't had the chance to visit until today. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious, with 4 counter seats and 3 tables for 4 people. The tables are spread out quite far apart, making me wonder if this used to be a different restaurant. I ordered the Thick Yamada Noodles (without back fat), which is what I came for. Shortly after ordering, they brought me a complimentary garlic soy sauce, available only to those who order the Yamada noodles. The noodles arrived in just 5 minutes, and wow, the chashu topping looks luxurious! The thick noodles are just as I expected - perfectly thick and cooked to the right firmness. The rich soy sauce-based soup is delicious, and the chashu surrounding the ramen is tender and flavorful. The minced garlic topping adds a strong garlic flavor when mixed in, but I personally prefer the original soup flavor. As I was enjoying the meal, I reached my fullness limit - maybe there was too much chashu or noodles? Compared to another ramen place in Konoe, the portion of noodles here seems slightly larger. Nevertheless, I managed to finish the meal and it was delicious until the end! Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant three months ago on June 4, 2021, and tried the hearty Yamada noodles, which I really liked. They also have regular menu items, so I ordered the soy sauce ramen with chashu. The rich soy sauce ramen with curly noodles was delicious and went well with the chashu. I'd like to try the miso salt ramen next time. Thank you for the soy sauce ramen.

Suddenly, I had a strong craving for Jiro-style ramen! After golfing in Zenibako, I decided to visit a popular ramen shop. I arrived just before 2 o'clock, and the place was packed! I ordered the Jiro-style ramen, of course, and since lunch came with free small rice, I added that too. While waiting for my ramen, they served me a soda with ice cream in it as a surprise! When the ramen arrived, I took a sip of the soup - delicious! The Jiro-style ramen in Sapporo tends to have a variety of ingredients, and this one had a rich flavor, probably including seafood. The thick noodles were perfect for soaking up the soup! I couldn't stop eating the rice either. After finishing my meal, I took a sip of the soda drink - it instantly refreshed my mouth! This ramen shop not only satisfied my hunger but also left me satisfied after the meal. Thank you!

The cherry blossoms were in bloom, but it was a cold and windy Sunday... I decided to go out for ramen. I thought the kids would be fine with the original Yamada noodles. So, I walked to the Handa Ramen Nikutama Teine-dori store that I spotted just before the shop. It's worth checking out as well. I had gone to the main store near Teine Station before, but it was closed that day... As planned, the kids had Yamada noodles. I had the soy sauce ramen. Last time, I had the spicy miso, so I couldn't really taste the soup well, but this time... it was a classic tonkotsu shoyu, with plenty of back fat. It warmed me up. I also tried a bit of the Yamada noodles' soup, and it had a strong garlic flavor. The kids were eating their "garlic ramen" with their eyes wide open. They couldn't finish it in one go, and ended up eating slowly towards the end. They said, "If we stop using chopsticks, we might not be able to finish it..." It's just a really delicious restaurant. I definitely plan on coming back!

On an empty stomach on March 17, 2021, I happened to pass by a ticket vending machine and was drawn to a menu that caught my eye. It was the "Extra Thick Noodle Ramen" for 880 yen. It had options for garlic, extra vegetables, etc., so I thought it might be a Jiro-inspired ramen. I don't eat this type of ramen often, but I was interested, so I decided to go for it. When asked about garlic and vegetables, I chose garlic with fat, and regular vegetables. While waiting, I read some reviews on Tabelog and saw that it was quite a generous portion. Soon, the bowl arrived with plenty of bean sprouts, cabbage, and thick slices of chashu. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle extra vegetables in my stomach. I dug into the extra thick noodles, which were surprisingly not powdery as I had imagined, but had a good texture. As I continued eating, the strong garlic flavor kicked in, adding a nice spiciness. The soup wasn't too rich, which balanced out well with the noodles. To further balance the flavors, a soda with what seemed like a GariGari-kun ice pop was served as a bonus. Next time, I might order less garlic to make it easier to eat. The chashu was tender and not too fatty, making it easy to enjoy. I wish they sold it as a side dish. Although I felt full after finishing the meal, I wasn't at my limit. A bit more noodles would have been perfect. Overall, it was an easy-to-eat Jiro-inspired ramen with a kick of garlic spiciness. It might become addictive! I'd like to try other ramen at this restaurant. The Extra Thick Noodle Ramen was delicious. Thank you for the meal! (^_^)

I always used to order regular soy sauce or Yamada noodles, but this time I tried the seafood soy sauce for the first time. It's a ramen with a nice flavor of seafood. The photos displayed in the restaurant had fish powder on them, but the ramen I got didn't have any fish powder. I saw in other reviews that it might be served on a separate plate if requested, but I wanted to experience the taste change by adding fish powder to my ramen. I added green onions as a topping, but they were roughly cut and lacked aroma. Overall rating: soy sauce, Yamada noodles >>> seafood soy sauce. It was delicious but at a normal level of tastiness.

This is my second post, but I have been here many times. This time, I tried salt ramen for the first time. It had a refreshing and deep flavor, making it easy to eat. Compared to the usual Yumada noodles, it may not be as filling, but it's just right when you don't want to eat too much.

- Thick and chewy noodles with extra toppings, 880 yen
The bowl is so huge that it may be hard to tell from the photo, but the extra toppings are insane! Only those who are very confident in their ability to eat a lot should attempt this! And remember, leaving any leftovers is not allowed! Also, be warned that the amount of garlic in the "full extra toppings" option is extraordinary and will make your mouth numb. Experienced eaters recommend sticking to just extra garlic.
- During lunchtime, you get a free small rice serving and a complimentary Galisoda (a drink similar to a soda with crushed ice) which is a nice touch.
I got carried away and added the free small rice, and the complimentary Galisoda is also included as shown in the photo (laughs). The bowl is quite large and easy to eat from, but even so, you absolutely have to tackle the noodles first, so I transferred the bean sprouts to the rice and the battle began! Yes, you have to finish it within 20 minutes before your satiety center kicks in, or it's game over! The noodles are slightly flatter and tastier than the original (Jiro-style) thick noodles! Huh? What's this insane amount of garlic!? Uh-oh! This is... Well, let's start with the noodles. It's my first time adding rice to a Jiro-style bowl, so let's finish it off with the pork... I mean, Chashu! While dealing with the bean sprouts at the same time... Oh no! The garlic is coming in! (laughs) My mouth is on fire! No, it's hurting! It's almost numb! This is a new kind of attack! Time for the Galisoda injection! Eek, it's adding insult to injury! (laughs) And so, after about 17 minutes, I finished it! Towards the end, I was sweating, not sure if it was from the heat or the fat, but it was a close call. Thank you for the meal!

Yamada's thick noodles are not only visually appealing, but also delicious. They come with pickled ginger on the side, which helps cleanse the palate, allowing you to enjoy the generous portion without getting tired of it. After trying these thick noodles, I can't go back to other Jiro-style ramen. The regular soy sauce ramen is also tasty, and I find myself coming back for it repeatedly. The deliciousness keeps me alternating between soy sauce ramen and Yamada's thick noodles. I plan to try their miso and salt flavors next. This restaurant offers both Jiro-style ramen and regular ramen, and the interior is clean and cozy. If you prefer not to dine in a dirty Jiro-style ramen shop, I recommend this place.

Yamada Noodle, first of all, looks amazing. Thickly sliced chashu, cabbage and bean sprouts. Plenty of back fat and minced garlic. All served with thick noodles. A satisfying bowl with a firm texture and generous toppings. If you can handle a decent amount of food, Yamada Noodle is recommended. I also tried the spicy miso ramen. It was tasty, but it paled in comparison to Yamada Noodle. The "Gariso" that comes with Yamada Noodle is probably "Garigari-kun soda", but it's also a unique menu item.

I was a little curious, as it seems like it has been just over a year since they opened. I thought I should go for the G-style ramen, but after consulting with my stomach, I ended up ordering the spicy miso ramen for 850 yen. Since it was lunchtime, I got a small portion of rice for free. I decided to ask for a smaller portion. I noticed that they no longer have tsukemen on the menu. The interior of the restaurant has tables in the back, and it doesn't seem to have changed much from when it was a ramen shop before. Wow, the ramen came out so fast! It took only 4 minutes after ordering! More and more customers started coming in, but they kept making the ramen efficiently without any delays. I respect that (*´꒳`ノノ゙☆パチパチ The soup was at the right temperature, not too spicy but had a tingling sensation. It was rich, but delicious. The noodles were my favorite type, chewy and bouncy. The bean sprouts and onions were crunchy. The chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rice went well with it. I poured the leftover rice into the soup. Eating it with a ladle, I could enjoy the minced meat and green onions that I couldn't pick up with chopsticks, making it delicious until the end. It's rich, so it would probably be even more delicious with an egg added to make it into a porridge (´﹃`) Overall, it was quite good! I couldn't find any negatives (*ˊ˘ˋ*) The salt and soy sauce options also seem appealing. When I peeked at someone who ordered the thick Yamada noodles, I was surprised by how much there was, haha. I might give it a try when I have more room in my stomach. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal (*´∇`*)
