I went to eat alone for the third time in Hokkaido! I always wanted to go to Fuhoto, but couldn't find the time or place. However, this time I found a takeout-only store at Sapporo Station! I ordered 2 pieces of Zangi and 1 piece of Yangnyeom Zangi. I also bought Sapporo Classic at the Seicomart and enjoyed a drink in my hotel room with Fuhoto Zangi as a snack. The Zangi sauce was included, and it was delicious with or without the sauce! The Yangnyeom Zangi was also tasty. The store is located in a convenient place for takeout on the way to the airport, so I will definitely visit again.

Famous among Sapporo locals, the Zangi shop called "Futo Bag" has opened a takeout-only store at the "Hokkaido Shiki Marche" on the first floor of Stella Place on the west side. I didn't know about it, when did it open? First, let me report the prices of Zangi. Zangi 1 piece 200 yen (tax included) Zangi 3 pieces 600 yen (tax included) Zangi 5 pieces 900 yen (tax included) It's a bit cheaper when you buy 5 pieces. Today, let's have Zangi and beer! I'll take 5 pieces, please! The aisle is crowded with products. There is a "Freshly Baked Cookie Sandwich Specialty Store" called "Sapporo Agricultural School JR Sapporo Station Store" across the way. Some women were ordering soft serve ice cream. They put a cookie on top of the soft serve, it looks Instagram-worthy. Even in winter, people in Hokkaido eat ice cream. I want to try that too. Now, let's open the Zangi at home! Wow, it's a generous portion. The original Zangi sauce is also included. It's a good deal for 900 yen! The container seems to have good heat retention. Since some time has passed since I bought it, the batter is a bit moist, but it's okay. I heated it up and took a bite. Juicy! Tender, with the savory flavor of chicken juice and dipping sauce. Delicious! It's the taste of Futo Bag. I pour in the beer. Delicious! The amount is too much for one person, so I shared it with my family. Thank you for the meal. By the way, they open at 11 am and close at 9 pm. Next, when should I buy it to take home?

I had my first experience with Akarenga de Fubukisan and it was delicious, so I decided to buy it as a souvenir. At first, the line was okay, but when I went again, there was no line, so I bought it. It takes time to fry, and since everyone doesn't just buy one, it takes time, but I had time until the train came, so it was okay! You can also make a reservation. I bought 10 and enjoyed them with the kids. They were still soft and delicious even when they cooled down, but the sauce didn't have green onions.

End-of-year and New Year's homecoming trip part 3. This time, the joy of being able to eat Zangi, the signature menu of the Chinese restaurant Hotei at Sapporo Station, is discussed. I hadn't been to Sapporo Station for a while, but somehow a space called "Hokkaido Four Seasons Marche Sapporo Stellar Place Store" had been set up. It opened in November 2022 and is brand new. As for the location, it is near the south exit (west concourse) right by the white object (most Hokkaido residents don't know the official name) as you enter. Hotei's main store is located in Nishi 9-jo, Minami 1-chome, an area densely packed with offices and business hotels, making it inconvenient to visit unless you aim to go there. However, being able to eat at Stellar Place 1F in the station building makes it very convenient, and for those who know Hotei, it's a must-visit. Everyone is making a long line at the Starbucks in front of the escalator, but let's stop by here too! By the way, in the same Four Seasons Marche, there is also a kitchen making the famous Sapporo Nogakko "An Butter Sand" for souvenirs from Hokkaido. I didn't use it this time, but for those who like Japanese sweets, this is also recommended. The handmade sweet red bean butter sandwich, unlike the packaged products, is rare. The "Pasture Dairy Milk Ice Cream" made from milk squeezed at Nichika Farm was also on sale. It must be delicious too! I gave up because it was cold outside at the end of the year. Now, about the Zangi. It was sold for 200 yen per piece. After ordering at the counter, I noticed that there were about 5 people waiting nearby with the same ticket. I thought I could get it right away because they were constantly frying it, but it might take a little time. In the end, after about 10-15 minutes, my turn came while looking at souvenirs. (Four Seasons Marche is quite good as it contains condensed local products. The operator is Kiosk. I also got the soy sauce mentioned by a local in the review of Kushidori here.) I took a picture including the soy sauce container with the sauce, but it might be hard to tell the size of the Zangi from the photo... It's quite big, comparable to a Taiwanese restaurant. This substantial eating experience may be why it's so popular. It's piping hot because it's freshly fried. With the sweet sauce, I'm all set. Indeed, crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. The moment I ate it, memories of "Naruto" in Otaru flashed back. This is delicious. It's understandable why Hotei-san's restaurant is so popular. It's nominated for the top rankings of fried chicken in my personal ranking. When you're feeling a bit hungry, be sure to stop by! There are various scenarios where you can make use of it, such as transferring between JR and the subway, watching a movie at Stellar Place, and so on. Thank you for the meal.

This is a take-out fried chicken shop located in Sapporo Station Stella Place. I decided to try it out and bought the limited edition Christmas set for around 750 yen. The packaging is cute. It includes plain, orange sauce (sweet and spicy), and a dish similar to oil-drizzled chicken. Each piece is huge and tender inside. This alone is enough as a side dish. As a fried chicken lover, I couldn't be happier. The location is convenient, so I think I'll stop by occasionally. It used to be a Chinese restaurant, I heard.

Welcome. ---------- 2022.11 ----------In the newly opened Hokkaido Marche in the area behind Sapporo Station East Exit |o| °д°)ノHello, the take-out specialty store "Tare" has delicious options. It may take some time as they fry upon ordering, but you can enjoy freshly made items. Here they serve "butaman" with flavors that change daily. Today's special is "miso butaman"! The dough is soft and fluffy with a hint of sweetness, and there's even some glass noodles inside the "zangi" which comes with a special sauce that's better than the zangi itself. While the taste of the B-grade "yamnyom chicken" may not be exceptional, it leaves a lingering sweet and spicy flavor. It might make a good Hokkaido souvenir. Tom prefers "Miyoshi Gyoza," but w ===========

I found out that there is a takeout-only cloth bag inside the Hokkaido Four Seasons Market! I went to buy it right away. I ate it while it was still hot. It was as delicious as ever! The outside is crispy, and the inside is juicy! It comes with sauce that you can use according to your preference! There are also other Chinese dishes available. Surprisingly, there is a wide variety of options.

In Sapporo, I didn't know there was a takeout-only shop for the famous Hotei-san. I bought 3 pieces for lunch (600 yen). The chicken, marinated in soy sauce, was crispy and easy to eat even after some time, at a good temperature. Personally, I prefer salt-flavored fried chicken lately, so soy sauce-flavored zangi feels a bit sharp to me. So I would be happy if there were salt zangi available. This zangi has excellent destructive power for eating rice, making it very satisfying. The size is also sufficient with a good bite. It would be even better with beer. I would like to buy it again.

On the first floor of Sapporo Station's station building. It was in a corner of the souvenir section. I plan to enjoy plenty of this as a snack at a business hotel. The ample chicken meat is nice. The elegant sour sauce allows for a refreshing change of taste. At 200 yen each, it is satisfying. It pairs perfectly with beer and is wonderful. Satisfied.

This is a take-out only shop located in Sapporo Station, affiliated with the famous Hotei known for its zangi. The zangi here is characterized by its original sauce and generous portion. The zangi, fried with a thin crispy coating, is delicious on its own but also tastes great when dipped in the sweet and sour sauce. The convenient location allows you to easily enjoy the taste of Hotei by taking it home. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I received information from a colleague that you can buy Zangi (deep-fried chicken) from a food stall at the train station. On my way home, I stopped by Hokkaido Shiki Marche. Oh, it's a takeout shop specializing in Zangi. I can think of it as... Before traveling by JR, buy Zangi! Buy onigiri (rice balls) at the kiosk! It's a complete Zangi bento (boxed meal) (laughs). Well, I got two packs of Zangi (5 pieces each) and enjoyed them with shochu at home. The volume and taste were as good as ever, making my evening drink enjoyable. The kids were also very satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A few days ago, I couldn't forget the Zangi I had at the Akarennga Terrace store, so before returning to the hotel, I ended up getting takeout from this store. The Zangi, 5 pieces for ¥900 (the Zangi here is about the size of a fist, so it's quite substantial! And at ¥180 per piece, it's cheap!!) It's freshly fried, so it's piping hot and crispy! The coating has some flavor but it's not overpowering, with a perfect hint of saltiness. Compared to the Zangi I had at a sushi restaurant the day before, which was too garlicky for my taste, I prefer the one from Fuboto. The accompanying sauce is also amazing! The sweet and sour Chinese-style sauce is addictive. I wish they would open a "Fuboto Kyoto Store" for takeout too, haha.

Stella's Hokkaido Four Seasons Market has opened a takeout specialty store by Hotei-san. Hotei-san is known for their Zangi, but as I was shopping, I decided to try their Chinese steamed buns to satisfy my hunger. I had the meat bun (miso) for 340 yen. It was a meat bun with plenty of filling. However, it didn't have much miso flavor as I expected... in fact, it lacked miso flavor completely. It was just a tasty meat bun. For this price, there are other places where you can get even tastier meat buns. I probably won't come back for this. Next time, I definitely want to buy the Zangi. Among all the previous stores, this location is the most convenient for me personally, so I will visit regularly (*'ω'*).

Four Seasons Market, which is currently a hot topic on TV, was ignored in favor of heading straight to Fubukuro-san for souvenirs and local products. Besides zangi, they also had shumai, spring rolls, and meat buns! It's my first time at Fubukuro, so zangi is a must. Let's go with the shrimp bun instead of the meat one. I should have bought the shumai too, I wonder. Now, I'll wait until the number printed on the receipt is called. Once I got my order, I moved to a place where I could eat it right away! Shrimp bun: The dough is quite firm, and the first bite reveals a lot of filling - glass noodles, bamboo shoots, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, ground meat, and shrimp. Zangi: It's huge (laughs). There seems to be some kind of granules sprinkled on it, and it comes with a sauce. When I took a bite, the skin was crispy. The granules are salt? It's already delicious as it is. The sauce seems to be the same as the popular menu "youlin chicken" - the moderate acidity goes well with the juicy zangi. But three pieces are a bit too much for one person. I didn't expect it to be this big (laughs). Personally, I wish they had trimmed the fat inside the meat. Next, let's eat the shumai and spring rolls!

I received 8 pieces of Zangi from Hotei-san as a souvenir, yay! I took them out of the pack without taking a picture, and by the time I realized, there was only one left, so I will attach a photo of the receipt as proof that I used the store. Since I used the main store, I will not go into detail about the taste, but it is delicious, but as it is a takeout, even when using a toaster oven, the excitement fades... I rarely take out anything other than bread or cake, so maybe that's just how I feel, and I wonder if it's a bit luxurious to say this. I was happy to receive the souvenir! Thank you for the meal.

In December 2022, there is a place called "Four Seasons Market" at Stellar Place 1F directly connected to Sapporo Station in Hokkaido. I went to the shop run by Mr. Fuhoto on a weekday morning, and there was already a casual line forming. While you can buy just one piece of Zangi, which is convenient, I wasn't in the mood for fried food. So, I opted for the pre-made "Hand-wrapped Shumai" for 460 yen, which came in a slightly small portion of 4 pieces. It was simple and delicious without being overly seasoned, but the cost performance was not the best. Overall, I think Zangi is still the best choice at Fuhoto's shop. Thank you for the meal.

This is a takeout-only shop run by Hotei, one of the famous Chinese restaurants. There were about 10 people in line, but with around 4 staff members, the wait was about 15 minutes. I went for the Yangnyeom Zangi. I didn't try other menu items that I've had before as a local. I enjoyed the warm Zangi immediately after getting it. I ordered two pieces of Yangnyeom Zangi for 250 yen each. The Zangi had a generous portion, but the flavor was too strong for me, and I got tired of it after one piece. I prefer regular Zangi. Thank you for the meal!

Expanding the store in the central area is "Fuhou". This time, within the "Hokkaido Shiki Marche" opening on "2022.11.01", there will be a "take-out Fuhou" menu including "zangi, yangnyeom zangi, harumaki, and shumai". Although it is a take-out specialty store, there are small tables available in stand style for eating in the facility, with a capacity of 7-8 people... I got the "Fuhou zangi" in about 20 minutes. I bought three, which were large in size and enough for an elderly couple to take home. After heating them in the oven, my personal opinion on the "Fuhou zangi" that I have eaten a few times is as follows: - The size used to be large and cost-effective, but it has gradually increased in price, and lately, I have found better deals in certain Chinese restaurants. - I do not particularly like the pre-seasoning, although I am not sure how much effort goes into the preparation. - Freshly fried, it is juicy and delicious, but when it cools down, the flavor diminishes, so it is best to eat it quickly after frying at an eat-in restaurant. - The "sweet and sour sauce" and "pizza" were hits as secondary dishes made by myself. - Surprisingly, I prefer the "seafood mapo tofu bowl" over the zangi. The "Chinese bun" looks delicious, but at 340 yen per piece... it's quite expensive, isn't it? Fuhou used to be an affordable and delicious Chinese restaurant for the common people decades ago, but lately, it seems to be moving further away from that image. I will definitely visit one of the locations again. Thank you for the meal.

This is Hatsu Station. As soon as I entered the concourse, I spotted a long line! Being curious, I approached and found out that people were queuing up for freshly baked goods at a recently opened shop. I usually don't like waiting in line, so I was about to walk past when I heard a staff member shouting, "You can enter Shiki Marche without waiting in line!" I am always interested in trying new things, so I was immediately intrigued. There were various Hokkaido specialties, local products, and souvenirs lined up. In a corner, I found a takeout specialty shop called "Hotei"! It was a good opportunity, so I decided to buy some. I tried the "Zangi" (1 piece for 200 yen), a large fried chicken piece with sauce. It was slightly sweet and tangy, and tasted delicious with the sauce. It was consistently tasty as always. I also tried the "Homemade Chinese Bun (Soy Sauce)" (340 yen), which had a chewy skin and a filling of soy sauce-based pork, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and glass noodles, all diced for a great texture. It was delicious! I also received a mini Chinese bun as a gift for the opening, and it was a mini version of the delicious homemade Chinese bun. I heard that the flavor of the Chinese bun changes daily, so I look forward to trying different flavors next time. Thank you, "Hotei"!

The "Hokkaido Four Seasons Market" opened on the 1st floor of Sapporo Stellar Place Center on November 1st. It has become popular for offering freshly fried items from Sapporo Agricultural College and the takeout specialist Fubukuro. On the opening day, there were long lines, and it continues to be crowded every day. The market also features a variety of Hokkaido's specialty products. When I went to pick up my girlfriend from work, she had a paper bag from Fubukuro in her hand. She said that the line had subsided, so she couldn't resist getting the "Zangi" (5 pieces for 900 yen) and "Crispy Spring Rolls" (2 pieces for 360 yen) to go. The Zangi from Fubukuro is freshly fried, and a pleasant aroma wafts from the paper bag. Once home, the warm items were ready to be enjoyed. Taking a bite of the large Zangi, the crispy texture and juicy meat inside were delightful. I had previously bought Fubukuro's Zangi at Go coo in Chitose and reheated it at home, but the crispiness of the batter was incomparable. I was impressed by the difference. Despite the strong garlic flavor, it didn't feel heavy. Even though it was a large Zangi, it felt like I could eat as much as I wanted. Adding Fubukuro's original sweet vinegar-like sauce enhanced the flavor. Next, I tried Fubukuro's spring rolls for the first time. As a fan of spring rolls, I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint. The crispy skin was delicious, and the filling had a perfect seasoning, allowing the individual ingredients to shine. I was even more surprised to learn that these were not freshly fried but purchased from the store. I have great respect for the cooks who maintain such quality in their pre-made items. Although Fubukuro is known for its Zangi, I am eager to try their other menu items like Chinese buns and shumai. For now, the spring rolls are a must-try! Thank you for the delicious meal!
