Solo-Epicurean
I used to visit this restaurant almost once or twice a month for the past 10 years until a year ago. I moved from Kansai to Kyushu and couldn't go as often, but whenever I go back home, this is the first place I visit. I've tried almost all the menu items, but I settled on the chicken biryani. The curry here is addictive, and the feeling after eating it is amazing. It's a Sri Lankan curry where you mix various toppings. The spiciness varies depending on the menu, with some not being spicy at all. Even my friend who can't handle spicy food doesn't feel bad about it. But for those who like spicy food, it's like paradise with a refreshing spiciness. If you ask for it to be spicier, they will make it spicier for you. The interior used to be a sushi restaurant, but now has handmade partitions for COVID-19 measures and Sri Lankan music videos playing, giving it a futuristic feel. Each time, the chicken's doneness, toppings, and amount of rice vary, sometimes there aren't enough napkins, and the taste can be different, which adds to its charm as an exotic place. It may feel intimidating at first, but once you go a few times, they remember you and always lead you to your usual seat. Despite being a well-known restaurant, it's never too crowded, which worries me. But it's much more cost-effective and delicious than trendy curry places with long lines. I want it to become popular, but at the same time, I don't want it to, that's the kind of place it is.
