The name of the restaurant is Log House, and it is located by Lake Abashiri. Upon entering, you take off your shoes and put on slippers. The interior has a high ceiling, with a few tables on the first floor and a few more on the second floor. There are antique items scattered around, which are fun to look at. While sipping coffee, especially from the second floor, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sun setting over the lake, making you lose track of time. The restaurant also operates a guesthouse and the Okhotsk Saimaa Park across the road, where you can play with the Saimaa ringed seals. This is also enjoyable. There is ample parking around the restaurant.

Since transferring to Abashiri, one of the shops that I have been curious about for a long time. However, it is a shop along a road that I would not normally pass by, so many local people do not even know of its existence. I headed towards the Abashiri Lake from the Memanbetsu area. If you pass by the shop that appears on the left side and drive slowly along the shore of Lake Abashiri, you will be greeted with a breathtaking view. Of course, summer is the best season to visit. Driving on a sunny afternoon or watching the sunset is truly refreshing. My preference is to drive while looking at Lake Abashiri on the left. That's the key point. Now, about the shop, the log house has just the right amount of age and charm. I had a meal on the second floor. The curry rice was slightly spicy. I got the impression that there was a particular focus on the sausage topping. I visited on a sunny day in summer, and the reflection of the lake was dazzling and picturesque, but the inside of the shop felt a bit like a sauna... Rather, think of it as a design that allows you to fully enjoy the view. It had an attic-like feel, and the ceiling was a bit low.
