In a quiet residential area, there is a soba restaurant. The entrance is on the first floor, but the dining area is on the second floor up the stairs. On a scorching hot day, after a 10-minute walk from the nearest station, I was sweating so I could only think of having cold soba, so I ordered the mixed soba. The white soba was made with morema, and the black soba was made with inaka, served in a gourd-shaped bowl. The staff recommended starting with the salt, so I followed their advice. I squeezed some sudachi on the morema for a refreshing taste, and enjoyed the inaka as it is, with a strong aroma of soba itself. Maybe I should have gone for the large serving.

I entered the restaurant and climbed the stairs to the second floor where the seating area is located. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm. I ordered the Morekoshi Soba which is a combination of Sarashina and Inaka Soba (large portion). Both were delicious with a good texture, but personally, I preferred the strong aroma of the Inaka Soba. The soba served with recommended salt also had a nice aroma.

Due to limited business days, it was difficult to find the right timing to visit, but this was my first time visiting. When I arrived around 11:45 on a Monday, there was only one other customer. I was seated by the window and enjoyed the view while eating soba. My friend and I shared three types of soba and a dashimaki. The staff carefully adjusted the timing and order of the dishes. It's a wonderful restaurant, and I will definitely visit again!

I went to Bampoan to have their Sakura soba, which I also tried last year and was very impressed. The Zaru Soba costs 1000 yen and is a great deal! It looks pink and you can see the cherry blossom leaves mixed in. I first tried it as is, and the cherry blossom flavor was amazing! The staff suggested trying it with salt, and it was also delicious. The nice salty flavor really enhances the cherry blossom taste. Of course, it's also tasty dipped in the sauce. To think you can have this for 1000 yen...! This is my third time at Bampoan, and I love the atmosphere and the staff. It's a favorite spot that I would love to visit again. Next time, I want to go during the sudachi soba season.

Sakurako Set for 1700 yen. This soba restaurant is only open on weekends and Mondays, and it is located a bit far from Unobe Station, so it is recommended to go by car. There are parking lots in front of the store and diagonally across the street. As soon as you enter the entrance, there are stairs, and on the second floor, there are tatami seats. The interior has a homely atmosphere. You can only order a limited set menu. The food came out in about 5 minutes. First, enjoy the original flavor of the soba. The soba has a rich aroma and a hint of cherry blossom scent, making you feel the spring. You can enjoy various condiments such as salt, zaru-tsuyu, and clear soup, which is delightful. Personally, I liked dipping the soba in the clear soup. For dessert, there was soba-gaki. The subtle cherry blossom flavor, combined with kinako and sweet red bean paste, had a nice balance of sweetness. The soba-yu (hot soba water) was very rich and comforting. It may be a bit difficult to get to without a car, but it is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

A hidden gem soba restaurant located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from Unobe Station. I visited for the first time and luckily got to enjoy the delicious scent of cherry blossom soba. The limited operating days and hours made it feel even more special, and I can't wait to go back again.

Located an 8-minute walk from Osaka Monorail Unobe Station, this soba restaurant was recommended by MyRebi. Despite its hidden location and limited operating hours (only open for lunch on weekends and Mondays), I decided to visit with high expectations. The first floor serves as the kitchen, while the second floor is the customer seating area. Upon entering the lovely interior, I was greeted by the elegant proprietress and staff. Shoes are removed before entering, and there are chairs available. I ordered the combination of Namako and Inaka soba in a large size. The portion was larger than expected, so I hurried to eat before it got cold. The proprietress kindly explained that with a large size, you receive complimentary spicy radish, which should be eaten with salt on top of the soba to enhance the flavor. The taste was indeed delicious, with the sweetness of the soba enhanced by the salt and spicy radish. Both the Namako and Inaka soba were refined and tasty. The dipping sauce was well-balanced and complemented the sweetness of the soba. The quality of the condiments was also excellent. The soba broth had a pleasant aroma. Additionally, they offer a variety of side dishes, allowing you to enjoy sake with your meal if desired. While they do not offer rice dishes, this may not be a concern as the restaurant mainly caters to customers looking for a satisfying lunch. Overall, the food was much tastier than expected. Despite the slightly high hurdle, I highly recommend this place. Just a heads up!

I had some errands nearby and was wondering what to eat for lunch. I searched for popular soba restaurants and found one near Uchinohe Station. I didn't know the area well, so I used navigation to find it in a quiet residential area with houses and apartments. Luckily, there was a parking spot available, so I decided to go in. When I opened the door, I was greeted by a steep staircase, which might not be suitable for elderly people. From the window, I could see a pond across the street. I had some delicious soba at this stylish restaurant.

After visiting the rose garden in the Banpaku Park, I visited this restaurant. It is located in a residential area that is not easily accessible without a car. There is parking space for one car next to the store, and another space for one car in a nearby parking lot, but it seems to be a first-come-first-served situation. The first floor is the kitchen, and the second floor is the dining area. The space is beautifully decorated with folk crafts, and they sometimes hold events where you can enjoy sake while listening to Tsugaru shamisen music. You take off your shoes and go up to the central table seat. The window seats overlook the pond and forest on the other side, with binoculars for bird watching placed there. I tried the "Shirokuro Aimori" for 1250 yen, which consists of two types of soba noodles - one made with Shinshu's 28 moreka and the other made with Echizen flour-based Genmai soba. The moreka was very smooth and had a pure taste ☆☆ The Genmai soba had a gentle texture and the broth was mild without any sharpness. It was easy to drink until the end when mixed with soba soup ☆ The moreka seemed to go well with this broth. I also tried the specialty "Dashimaki Tamago" for 650 yen, which was a fluffy and broth-soaked omelette. Initially, I planned to share it with my friend, but ended up having one each. It was gone in no time ☆☆ My friend also added the "Soba Gaki" (650 yen). I was only familiar with the cold type with grated mountain yam and soy sauce, but this one was a warm soup with a mix of ingredients. It's nice to have something warm after eating cold zaru soba. The elegant proprietress could easily be called the "Ashiya Madam". She also plays the Tsugaru shamisen herself. It seems that seats are rarely vacant due to regular customers, but I would like to attend their gatherings at least once to hear her play.

Since transferring to Osaka, I have been searching for a soba restaurant that suits my taste. I have visited "Doyamabito" and "Ei Nisshi" near the office for a quick lunch, but due to the prolonged pandemic, I haven't been able to enjoy the pleasure of having a nicely prepared soba appetizer with Japanese sake and finishing with soba! So, with the lifting of the state of emergency, I decided to visit here, enjoy soba and sake from lunchtime, and see the Tower of the Sun. ① About the restaurant: It's about a 10-minute walk from Unobe Station. I took the Osaka Monorail for the first time. As I walked up the slope, a quiet pond appeared. The restaurant is located by the pond, with a beige exterior and small reed screens hanging outside, giving it a simple and elegant appearance. It is a two-story building, with the kitchen on the first floor and seating on the second floor. Upon entering, I took off my shoes and went to the seating area. The interior is decorated with drums and shamisen subtly displayed, and the owner's carefully selected items such as dishes and pottery are neatly arranged. There are counter seats where you can overlook the pond, as well as spacious table seats. You can relax and enjoy your meal and drinks while listening to the quietly flowing jazz background music. ② About the food: I was looking forward to the soba and sake experience. First, let's start with beer and soba appetizers. "Dashimaki Tamago" is indeed a specialty as advertised. The fluffy texture, the gentle richness of the egg, and the dashi flavor blend perfectly. My personal favorite dashimaki tamago is from "Wataru," but this one is also excellent and to my liking. Next, I switched to cold sake "Yoake Mae." "Yaki Miso" is a favorite of my companion, so we always order it if it's on the menu. The miso spread on the scoop contains soba grains, providing a fun texture. The slightly salty taste is complemented by the accompanying shredded green onions. "Kawachi Duck Smoked" I love duck, especially Kawachi duck, so I had to order it! The moist and tender meat, the savory aroma of the seared skin, and the addition of wasabi stem enhance the wild flavor of the duck. Oh no, I can't stop drinking sake! "Kinpira Gobo" The sweet and savory seasoning goes well with sake. The crispy lotus root adds a great texture. Now, let's have the soba. I had the "Aimori (black and white)" soba. The white (Sarashina) soba is a beautiful milky white color with a transparent appearance. It is finely cut, with almost no rough edges or uneven cuts. The soba is drained well and has a refreshing and pleasant texture. After passing through the throat, a subtle sweetness can be felt, which I like. The black (Inaka) soba is a slightly thicker cut, with a dark gray color. Stars can be seen in some places. The edges are sharp, the texture is good when chewed, and it has a strong flavor. The dipping sauce is not too sweet but has a rounded and smooth taste, designed to enhance the flavor of the soba. My companion wanted to try both hot and cold soba, so we ordered two "Hanamaki" soba. I took a bite. The steam carried the aroma of seaweed and bonito broth, providing a comforting feeling. Warm soba is also delightful. The dipping sauce is clear and free of any impurities, with a transparent appearance. "Karame Bukkake" According to my companion, the soba has a good texture and throat feel! The dipping sauce is not too sweet, but my companion wished the daikon radish was a bit spicier. Finally, we had a warm soba broth to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed the soba appetizers, then finished with well-made soba, feeling very satisfied. Slightly tipsy and full, it was a happy holiday lunch. ③ About the staff: The second-floor seating area is managed by the owner's wife, who was alone.

I searched for a soba restaurant in Osaka Prefecture and found one with high ratings on Tabelog between JR Ibaraki Station and Senrioka Station. I visited for the first time on a holiday afternoon. I walked from JR Senrioka Station. There is also the option of renting a bicycle from JR Ibaraki Station. There is an uphill climb. The restaurant is a renovated private house. First, you go up to the second floor and take off your shoes. There are 5 counter seats and one large table for 8 people. The view of Mihoga Pond in front of you is nice. Yaki Miso (450 yen including tax): Spicy with black miso. The soba seeds are crispy. It is eaten while mixing with chopped white onions. Zaru Soba White (Sasagaki) 850 yen: The soba is slightly yellowish white. They recommended trying it with salt first. The flavor of the soba increases. When you pour the sudachi provided, the taste changes. Furthermore, with a broth that you can feel the bonito. Topped with wasabi and white onions. The soba water is white and slightly transparent with a medium thickness. It was very delicious. I enjoyed a refined soba in the hills of Suita.

I was finally able to visit the soba restaurant "Bonboan" in Senrioka, Suita. This restaurant is quite hard to get into as it only opens for lunch on weekends and Mondays (reservations required for dinner). The parking lot has space for one car on the first floor of the building and two cars by the pond. When I arrived, the owner kindly guided me to the newly available parking space by the building. The first floor serves as the parking lot and kitchen, while the dining area is on the second floor where you take off your shoes. There are three tables for four people each and a counter with a view of the pond with about five seats. I ordered the "Aimori" and "Dashimaki Tamago". The Aimori comes with both white and black zaru soba, with the white made from Yatsugatake-produced morekake and the black made from Echizen flour-based morekake. It is served with soba sauce, condiments, and Nozawana pickles, which are delicious! The Dashimaki Tamago was also delicious with a strong dashi flavor. I started with salt to taste the original soba flavor, and personally, I preferred the black soba. The soba sauce had a strong bonito or flying fish stock flavor, which was delicious. Lastly, I had a rich soba broth. I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time, and I was very satisfied with the service and food. Thank you for the meal!

Holiday Monday, entered the restaurant at 12:30 PM, with 80% capacity inside. Left at exactly 1 PM. Two people inside (ordered white and black zaru soba) for 1250 yen. Quite delicious and close to home. A well-known local restaurant that has been around for a long time. The high-grade white soba noodles in the inner layer still look like cold noodles to my unsophisticated palate. But the white soba noodles are also delicious! I aim to have a day where I can appreciate them. Thank you for the meal.

A soba restaurant that seems to be hidden in a residential street. There is a parking lot across the road in front of the store. When you go up to the second floor, you can feel the unique Japanese atmosphere. I ordered a combination of two types of soba and a tempura roll. The soba looks good at first sight. When you eat it, you can feel the firm texture and smooth throat sensation. Ah, this is really good soba. The side menu also has a variety of options, so I would like to try them when I visit again.

I visited around 12 o'clock on Sunday. I was prepared to wait in line, but surprisingly, I was able to get in smoothly, perhaps due to the current situation. We were seated by the window twice, and the view from the window was great, creating a wonderful atmosphere. I had the spicy daikon grated soba, while my companion had the large serving of dashi rolled omelette. The rolled omelette was fluffy and hot, warming up our chilled bodies. The dashi was a bit strong in flavor. The spiciness of the daikon was refreshing, and although the soba flavor was overshadowed by the tempura crumbs, the noodles had a good texture. Next time, I would like to try the black soba that my companion had, as well as the zaru soba and black country soba.

I had been curious about a soba restaurant in the neighborhood that I had seen good reviews of on Tabelog. When I went to the nearby restaurant Wadatsumi the other day, it was closed. So I decided to try this place instead. Luckily, there was parking available. My family of five went in. Two of us had warm soba with seaweed and wasabi, one had duck nanban, and my son and I had zaru soba with white and black noodles, both in large portions. The white noodles were chewy and the black noodles had a nice flavor, both were delicious. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the portion size was a bit small for the price. Only when we ordered the large portions (+310 yen) did it feel like a regular size. If they offered lunch sets with rice and a large portion of soba for around 1000 yen, it would be perfect.

Unobe Station is located in a residential area with many slopes about a 10-minute walk away. The soba restaurant is situated in a renovated private house, giving it a rustic and tranquil atmosphere. The exterior has a wabi-sabi charm, and upon entering, you climb the stairs on the right and remove your shoes before entering the room. The interior features wooden partitions, a large central table, and a row of counter seats with cushions by the window, creating a retro Japanese setting unique to a soba restaurant. The menu includes options like zaru soba (white or black), kamo kou, hanamaki, and iwashi soba, among others. I ordered the visually appealing kamo kou. The dish arrived in a gourd-shaped bowl and was recommended to start with salt. The white soba had a delicate texture and a refreshing taste, characteristic of morekusa soba. The black soba, on the other hand, had a slightly thicker texture but was still smooth, with a flavor reminiscent of inaka soba. The broth had a sweet flavor typical of Kansai-style soba, and the meal concluded with a light soba-yu. Overall, I found the soba delicious, although I felt that a stronger contrast between the white and black soba as well as a more robust broth could enhance the experience. Nonetheless, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal.

I had the "Aisakari" dish. The buckwheat noodles tasted so good, almost like they were made with 100% buckwheat. The noodles were carefully made. Delicious. The fluffy rolled omelette was also good. The duck roast could use a bit more flavor, but it was still tasty. There may be issues with parking, so it's best to go at a less crowded time. This is a famous restaurant in Osaka. Thank you for the meal!

A rare restaurant with very few available days! I had been wanting to go back since I visited two years ago. Sometimes there is a long wait because they are making soba, making it difficult to bring children. But some people are lucky and find soba available with a short wait time! It's all about luck. When I went with friends, the atmosphere was so nice that I wanted to stay longer, even during the wait for the soba. Last time I ordered the Aimore soba. I remember being impressed by the deliciousness of the white soba. This time, I ordered the duck warm soba. It was so hot because it was midsummer. The lack of air conditioning made the hot soba almost unbearable. But the duck was delicious... I wanted to ask for stronger air conditioning, but I couldn't bring myself to do it, and that was the only regret. The ambiance was great but the space was really hot. The soba was thin and had a smooth texture, and the tenderness of the duck was amazing! I also tried the tamagoyaki, which was really delicious. Even though I usually don't like grated daikon, I ate it all. I wanted seconds. But I really want to try the cold white soba again. And it would be even better if they offered not just hot tea but also water. I'm too shy to ask for water when I'm served hot tea...

In Suita City, there is a soba restaurant a short walk from Unobe Station on the Osaka Monorail. There are few buses from the station. The first floor is the kitchen, and the dining area is on the second floor where you take off your shoes. From the window, you can see a pond across the road with migratory birds swimming. Inside the restaurant, there are shamisen and taiko drums, and pottery is displayed by the window. The menu states that they use flour from Yatsugatake for their mori soba, and Echizen for their countryside soba, which is made with a 80:20 ratio. I ordered the combination mori soba. The soba noodles, both mori and countryside, have a good texture, are well-drained, and have no uneven cuts or scraps. The mori soba has a slightly lighter taste, while the countryside soba, made with Fukui produce, is delicious enough. The condiments include green onions, wasabi, grated daikon, and a side of salt. The spicy dipping sauce is decent. The soba broth is rich and flavorful. Overall, the soba is clean and straightforward, without any pretentiousness, making it easy to enjoy. Without getting into a debate about the merits of whole grain soba, this soba seems flawless.
