During Obon, my plan is to go to a fishing gear shop in Adachi and then visit someone in the hospital. Adachi is a district reminiscent of a scene from "Hokuto no Ken," where you need to be cautious, as there are various things that can happen. You really have to lock your motorcycle case. Given it's that kind of area, I'm also expecting good meat dishes. There’s a place I've been curious about near Tanaka Shoten.
At the intersection of Kan-nana, there’s a yakiniku (grilled meat) all-you-can-eat place with a sign stating 4,150 yen for all-you-can-eat and lunch sets starting from 780 yen. Since eating all-you-can-eat at lunch is tough, I decided on a lunch set, but I was a bit anxious about being in Adachi. The staff all had red and purple hair, mostly young girls. At least there weren’t any mohawks! However, when I looked at the menu, I saw the recommended lunch: beef tongue lunch with 120g for 968 yen, including rice, bean sprouts, namul, and seaweed soup—all you can eat. Plus, you get a free drink bar for signing up on LINE for the first time. This is it!
When it arrived, it was even better than the picture. Although it was on the smaller side, this was definitely high-quality tongue. Having worked part-time at a yakiniku restaurant in Ueno for two years, I could tell that. For 120g, the portion felt generous. Also, charcoal-grilling was a huge plus, and for under 1,000 yen, it was fantastic. The taste was amazing—miso-flavored tongue. If I had the time, I could eat three bowls of rice with just the beef tongue. The salad and kimchi were also decent, the soup was average, and the bean sprouts and namul were okay, while the pickled onions were so-so.
Ratings: Taste 85, Price 100, Atmosphere 80. Overall, I think this lunch is one of the top three in terms of cost-performance for grilled meat in Adachi. If there were one near my workplace, I would go every day.
