Located in Akanko Town in Kushiro City, this shop is situated within the premises of a roadside station and mainly deals with seafood products. They offer a wide range of processed seafood products caught in the Pacific Ocean, making it a great place to purchase souvenirs. We bought a souvenir called "Yuhi," which had "Harmony spreading in the Kushiro sky" written on it, to give to a friend who always takes care of us. They have a great selection of seaweed products such as kelp produced in the Kushiro area, and we were torn between buying them for home use or as souvenirs. Recently, the large athletic playground equipment inside the roadside station has been renovated, making it an even more attractive tourist spot. We highly recommend making use of it.

Unfortunately, in the light rain, I was curious to see what they were doing setting up a tent. It turns out they were grilling Abashiri malt beef steak, Abashiri pork steak, and potato dogs! Even though I just ate at a restaurant, I couldn't resist trying the malt beef steak for 1,000 yen and the potato dog for 300 yen. The potato dog was made with Kitakari potatoes and had a nice potato flavor. As a fan of potatoes, I found it delicious, but it definitely tasted like potatoes. The steak looked thin and I was surprised it cost 1,000 yen. However, it was a bit salty but the meat was tasty. Overall, it was a good meal.

I always get scolded by Puni Puni-kun for being late, saying "I read it before going to work, so hurry up and post it." I'm sorry, Akkan here. I'm heading to work towards Kushiro. There is a roadside station on the way, so I'll stop by. The roadside station is new, but it seems like they are rebuilding it because it's number 30. The toilets are clean and comfortable, but it's cold. The interior of the store is also clean. I bought "Tanchou Boros" and also had some soft serve ice cream. When I left the building, I saw the "Akkan Marche" next door. Of course, I had to stop by. Oh? They have quite a selection of products. There are two female staff members. Naturally, there are local specialties from the Kushiro region lined up. I want to buy everything, but I don't have enough money to buy everything. I've heard of "Akkan Pork," but is it a brand? It's 540 yen for two slices, which seems reasonable. Is there a facility on the same site as the Akkan roadside station where you can take a bath (hot spring?) There is also a restaurant. Several elderly people carrying bath supplies went in. I don't want to be called elderly yet, but I guess I'll be called that in the not-so-distant future. I really don't want that! After a while, the meat was served sautéed. "You know it's best to cook it with salt, right?" they said, as if they knew everything. But they probably just chose the easiest way. So why did they put grated wasabi on it last night while crying? Wasn't the meat supposed to be cooked with salt to taste it properly? The red meat is normal. Whether that's good or bad depends on your expectations. I was a little disappointed, but the fat is sweet and very delicious. However, there are definitely many people who won't eat it no matter what I say. As a brand, it's normal, but I thought it was safe and delicious pork that you can eat without worry.

In the third week of September, on a Saturday, still at the premises of the Michi-no-Eki Akanko Tanchonosato, now at the Akanko Marche. This Michi-no-Eki has so many attractions, from the main Michi-no-Eki building, Cranes Terrace, Red Hat, to the Akanko Marche. This shop also offers local products from the Kushiro area. While browsing through the store, I came across some unique items, but also some that I had seen before. Among them, I couldn't resist checking out the section where they sell noodles. I found "Mashu Soba" and "Mashu Udon" here. I decided to go for the Mashu Udon (370 yen tax included) as it seemed like a good value for the price. I had seen Mashu products from the Mashu Lake Agricultural Cooperative in Akanko before, but I hadn't tried them yet. After making my purchase, I moved on to my next destination, bidding farewell to the Michi-no-Eki Akanko Tanchonosato. Later on, I cooked and enjoyed the Mashu Udon at home. The texture of the dry noodles was good, and it paired well with both sesame sauce and regular dipping sauce. The cold noodles had a nice chewiness, and the sesame sauce brought out the flavor of the udon. It was a satisfying meal, and my family enjoyed it as well. Local noodles like these are always a highlight of my Michi-no-Eki visits.

This is Akkan in Kushiro City. Last year, I visited the newly renovated roadside station adjacent to a local product sales outlet. They sell local meat products, processed fish products, vegetables, sweets, and other specialty products from Kushiro and Akkan. There are various things for sale, but what caught my interest was the processed fish products. There were canned items. "Limited edition" ... I must buy it. (*´ー`*) "Surumeika (with roe)" Surumeika caught in Hokkaido is seasoned with Noto Isiri (squid soy sauce) and Shibui Konbu (kelp) to bring out the rich taste of the squid with a thick texture and roe. It's a luxurious taste that doesn't feel like canned food. This goes well with shochu. (^_^) "Kushiro's Saba Boiled in Water" Large saba fish caught in Kushiro Port are carefully selected! I think it's the best for drinking. Well, I haven't eaten it yet. (^o^;) It seems like the Korean Peninsula might get noisy, so I'll keep this for emergencies. (laughs)

Hello! Once again, I went on a company trip organized by Club Tourism, this time to "Hokkaido's ultimate food feast, focusing on local cuisine" for 2 days. We arrived at Michi-no-Eki Akandanchou-no-Sato at 1:10 PM. After eating and drinking, we did some shopping. It was a lively venue due to the nearby building's grand opening event. I bought some kombu tea for 250 yen, which I haven't opened yet. Also, I bought some boiled sand lance for 972 yen. The sand lance was easy to eat and had a good flavor. It was softer than I expected. I also got some crane-shaped manju for 172 yen. I bought it based on its appearance, and it was indeed delicious. It seems like the store has been open for almost a year now.
