I stayed at Abashiri Royal Hotel and had dinner and breakfast there. First of all, the cost performance is quite good! The restaurant is recommended, but I think it's better to stay at a different hotel. For dinner, I had the Moyoro Nabe set which included Moyoro Nabe (a pot dish with salmon and fish paste in a pottery motif dish), ikura rice, sashimi, small dishes, and soup for 1500 yen. The taste was really good, especially the ikura which was authentic and had a sweet soy sauce flavor. The Moyoro Nabe was a light salt soup pot with a rich flavor. The Zangi (fried chicken) had a crispy coating and was delicious. However, the set menu had a lot of food and I couldn't finish it all. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, mainly with business travelers and solo travelers. For breakfast, it was a buffet style with a good variety of seafood and bread. I had rice but the salmon roe was quite salty. Overall, it was comfortable to have meals in a quiet environment.

I have written a lot in my reviews that the lunch situation in Abashiri is not great. Especially near Abashiri Station, there are not many options for lunch besides soba restaurants or family restaurants, so I often found myself in a dilemma when it came to getting lunch. The other day, I happened to see an advertisement in the local newspaper, and decided with my colleagues to go try the lunch at "Abashiri Royal Hotel". The advertisement mentioned a weekly changing lunch for 850 yen, with quite appetizing menu options. When we went the following week after seeing the ad, the weekly special menu had changed to something like a traditional Japanese set meal, so this time we decided to pass on that. Instead, I ordered the Chinese mix menu. It came in a bowl with half yakisoba in a thick sauce and half Chinese-style rice bowl, a menu I had never seen before but sounded interesting. When I tried it, it had a good portion size and the flavors were quite nice, as it seemed they put effort into their Chinese dishes. I would like to try it again when they have a weekly special menu that suits my taste. This restaurant might be a good choice for those who are traveling to Abashiri by JR. Since it is a hotel restaurant, you can relax in a calm atmosphere. The weekly special menu came with a complimentary coffee.
