I discovered a collaboration menu that is limited to lunch only, while considering the cost performance of such a menu. Compared to the recent high-end tonkatsu restaurants, this place feels overall cheaper. When I see "limited" or "special" written on the menu, I can't help but be drawn to it. The B set meal with fillet cutlet, tonkatsu cabbage, soup, and pickles is offered here. The interior of the restaurant, although small, has partitions which is nice, but the proximity to the neighboring tables is unavoidable. Despite some things that bother me, it can't be helped. The service is relatively fast even when the restaurant is crowded. The ordered dishes arrive. I try a piece of the fillet first. It has a hint of saltiness, and it tastes good even on its own. The tonkatsu is a bit tough and has a crispy texture when bitten into. Although the meat itself is tasty, I prefer tonkatsu that has been meticulously prepared. The tonkatsu here has quite a bit of breading coming off, but the breading itself is slightly thick and has a crunchy texture, which I like. As I continue eating, I find that I can't finish the rice, so I decide to drizzle some sauce that came with the set meal onto the meat... I pay attention to not get the sauce on the breading. I have a personal preference of adding sauce or soy sauce to each piece of meat I eat to avoid getting liquid on the breading. If I want to add sauce to 2-3 pieces at once, I prefer a sauce with viscosity. I also like to add sesame seeds to the tonkatsu sauce for a fruity flavor. Having salt on the table would also be nice. The tonkatsu tends to lose its breading more than the fillet, but the fillet is moist and tender, and I truly enjoy its deliciousness. The rice is tasty but slightly soft. I enjoy the cabbage with a watery sauce. I didn't eat the pickles, and the soup is simple but a nice addition to the set meal. The restaurant has moved from Susukino to Teine Ward, and during the opening period, I couldn't find parking so I had to give up. Even now, it gets crowded during lunchtime, so if you time it right, you can get a seat. This time, the restaurant was full, but as I was driving around the area, a spot opened up and I was able to get in.
