I stopped by this restaurant for the first dinner of my Hokkaido trip from June 27th to 30th (Hakodate, Noboribetsu, Sapporo). I joined a tour this time, and the use of the Gran Class (Shinkansen) on the way there and staying at La Vista Hakodate Bay were deciding factors. I know this is a bit off topic, but since I can't review the Gran Class, I wanted to share a bit about it. It was truly a "drinking and eating paradise", with various alcoholic drinks, free drinks, light snacks, appetizers, and desserts included, making it a dream-like experience. I ended up sitting in the seat for 7 hours from Osaka, but I didn't feel any fatigue in my back. Before I knew it, we had arrived at Hakodate Hokuto. From there, we transferred to a bus and stopped by this restaurant for dinner before enjoying the night view of Mount Hakodate. The restaurant is located right near the entrance to the driveway to the Hakodate Ropeway station and observatory. The restaurant had a large parking lot, and when you enter, you'll find a surprisingly spacious interior with countless seats lined up. It seems like a perfect restaurant for dinner before enjoying the night view. Since the arrival time was communicated in advance, the dishes for the number of people were prepared, and the restaurant was decorated with many fish flags and nets, giving off a maritime town atmosphere. The dinner menu included half a hair crab, a mini salmon roe bowl, a paper pot with scallops, salmon, and other vegetables placed on a stove, and a plate grilled dish. The plate grilled dish was revealed once it was cooked, and it turned out to be a mochi base with squid salted fish roe and butter. It wasn't extravagant, but it used Hokkaido ingredients. However, the taste was indeed different when I tried it. The small amount of salmon roe, scallops, salmon, squid salted fish roe, and half a hair crab were all delicious. Surprisingly, the plate grilled dish was excellent, with a crispy finish and the added flavors of salted fish roe and butter. Well, having eaten and drunk in the Gran Class, my stomach was already satisfied, but the flavors were still very satisfying. It was a dinner at a large restaurant targeting group tourists, but in terms of starting the journey, it was a meal that could raise expectations for the future. After this, we went to see the night view of Hakodate, but unfortunately, it was drizzling. Still, there were many people at the observatory. However, the weather caused fewer people than usual. This year, I have seen the night views of Nagasaki and Hakodate, in addition to Kobe, the top three night views in Japan. (As someone from Kobe, I'm used to the night view there.) Honestly, Kobe's night view is the best by far. However, Nagasaki and Hakodate also allowed us to enjoy the night view up close because the observatory's altitude was low. Well, I will continue with reviews of my Hokkaido trip for a while. Thank you for the meal~.

Dinner on the tour The spacious first floor was decorated with fishing flags, floats, and nets, creating a rustic atmosphere reminiscent of a fisherman's workplace. I feel like I've been on this tour before. The potato mochi with salt and butter was delicious. I should try making it at home. I also remember trying three types of snow crab, but I can't remember which one was which.

【December 5, 2019 First Visit】This is the dinner on the first day of the Mystery Tour. Since it was a group meal, the price is unknown. After enjoying the night view of Hakodate, we had dinner.・Ishikari NabeA hot pot dish prepared in Ishikari style with white miso. It had a warm and comforting flavor.・Squid SashimiFresh squid sashimi caught locally. Instead of wasabi soy sauce, it was served with ginger, which made it surprisingly delicious.・3 Types of Crab ComparisonPlatter of Taraba crab, Snow crab, and Hair crab. All of the crabs were delicious. Everyone was so focused on eating that it was surprisingly quiet for the number of people.・Scallop KamameshiA delicious dish with plenty of large scallops. The slightly burnt part at the bottom was also exquisite. For a group tour meal, it was very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was like a pub, and everyone was enjoying ordering their drinks. Thank you for the meal.

Sea urchin kamameshi with potato, cheese, salted fish roe, kinpira burdock, crab miso soup, and pickles was quite delicious. It was from a shop run by the fresh and tasty market in Hakodate. Next to it is the Hakodate Gokoku Shrine. Near the shop's parking lot, there was a tree bearing beautiful purple fruits. Some said it was Murasaki Shikibu, while others said it was similar but different. One person mentioned that there are several types of Murasaki Shikibu, and this was one of them.

This is a restaurant review of a shop at Mt. Hakodate visited during a Hokkaido tour. For tour guests, there were many dishes set up. The course included sashimi, hokke fish, teppanyaki, and kama-meshi. Everything was delicious. I forgot to take photos, but there were large scallops, vegetable teppanyaki, and a miso-flavored dish that I'm not a fan of, but still enjoyed. We had to leave the restaurant within an hour to see the night view of Mt. Hakodate, so it was a bit rushed, but I was satisfied with the delicious food from Hokkaido. Thank you for the meal.

Hakodate Trip, Day 2 Lunch. After having seafood rice bowl for breakfast at Hakodate Morning Market and exploring the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, it had only been about 2 and a half hours since breakfast and I wasn't hungry at all. In such a situation, I ordered the Scallop Rice Pot Set meal and thought, "This is too much to eat." - Tempura: 2 shrimp, green pepper, eggplant - Paper Pot: Salmon, mushrooms, vegetables, tofu - Grilled Dish: Scallop, squid, vegetables - Chawanmushi (savory egg custard) - Scallop Rice Pot The portion was generous, and I ordered a draft beer to go with it, which was just right (laughs). The tempura was a bit cold but not soggy. The paper pot had a nice salmon broth. The grilled dish was butter-grilled, but the flavor was light so I added soy sauce to make it better. The Scallop Rice Pot had two large scallops and crispy rice, which was delicious. However, I could hardly eat it and ended up only having a bite or two. We joked that this meal was better than yesterday's dinner. Afterwards, we strolled around the beautiful area where churches were lined up. We planned to have some snacks and do some shopping, but decided to end the one-night, two-day Hakodate bullet tour here. Hakodate was beautiful and fun! However, next time, I'll make sure to have a more leisurely trip (laughs).

We went on a business trip (technically labeled as a training trip) to Hokkaido for the tourism industry. For lunch on the first day, we ate at this restaurant in Hakodate. The restaurant is located on a hill in Hakodate, overlooking Hakodate Bay from the side. It seems to cater to group tours, as there were several large tour buses parked in the parking lot. We had grilled Atka mackerel, squid sashimi, squid salad, chan-chan-yaki (salmon and vegetable stir-fry), chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), scallop and bamboo shoot kamameshi (rice cooked in a small pot), and crab miso soup. The squid, both the sashimi and salad, were delicious, living up to the reputation of Hakodate. The Atka mackerel and chan-chan-yaki, being specialties of Hokkaido, didn't quite meet our high expectations in terms of the richness of the flavor. The kamameshi was well-seasoned and particularly delicious, especially the crispy rice at the bottom. Since we were in Hokkaido, we decided to have some potato shochu after our beer. Drinking in the daytime is great! Thank you for the delicious meal.

On December 10th at 7:00 PM, I arrived in Nagoya for a 1 night, 2 day tour. The tour included a visit to a restaurant called "Sara no Tsuki" where we were served one dinner and one breakfast. The dinner included a bowl of snow crab and a king crab leg. The meal was rushed, with the tour guide informing us that we only had one hour to eat. Despite the quick pace, I ordered two beers and was served miso soup before I had finished my first beer. The rushed service made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal, and I left unsure of whether the food was actually delicious or not.

During the summer vacation, I took a 2-night, 3-day trip to the southern part of Hokkaido. On August 23rd (Friday), I arrived in Hakodate by super express train from Shin-Aomori Station, passing through the Seikan Tunnel. I visited places like Goryokaku, Motomachi Park, and the foreign buildings, churches, and former public hall at the foot of Mount Hakodate. The weather was cloudy with occasional rain, but I still hoped to see Hakodate's night view. I had reserved dinner at Saranotsuki, a seafood and kaiseki restaurant at the entrance of Mount Hakodate. The meal consisted of scallop barbecue, mixed rice, half a boiled snow crab, and squid sashimi. The dishes were simple and delicious, especially the scallop mixed rice. Even though I couldn't see the night view due to the fog, the tasty scallop barbecue and mixed rice made me satisfied.

Today's lunch was at Sara no Tsuki. This was my second time here, and the daily lunch special is only 630 yen, which is cheap. But it doesn't come with coffee. So, let's talk about the daily special lunch. On this day, it was cold ramen and fried chicken. The cold ramen had a good amount and the fried chicken tasted homemade and delicious. The spring roll skin in the salad was crispy and tasty. The soy milk pudding would be good for those who like soy milk. All of this for 630 yen is a great deal. It's better than buying a bento, right? The other dish is the Hanakago set meal, which comes with this. The shrimp tempura was big and juicy. The tempura and chawanmushi were delicious. Overall, it was decent. I think this set was around 1360 yen. The restaurant is spacious with seats separated like private rooms, so you can relax. However, even though it's separated, you can hear the voices of the people next to you. There were also some tourists in groups, so it was lively on this day. But for 630 yen, it's a good option when you want to eat cheap and decent food for lunch.

We made a reservation through JTB for dinner on the first day of our family trip to Hakodate. It cost 5,400 yen per person, which seemed reasonable for a travel destination. We planned to go after seeing the night view of Mount Hakodate, but it was raining so we came down early and asked the restaurant to start earlier (they were very accommodating). The dishes that came out were crab feast, sushi, and more than we could handle. I highly recommend it.

A shop at the foot of Mount Hakodate. I thought it would be full of tourists because of the location, but that's not the case. It was my companion's birthday, so we reserved a private room in a Japanese-style room. The terrace with a view of the night view seemed to be a selling point, but the private room was the right choice. We were able to spend a very relaxing time there. It seems that the situation when you go determines the best option. They don't offer special birthday menus, but if you inform them when making a reservation that it's your companion's birthday, they will provide a complimentary fireworks salad on the day. (This is only based on my experience and not a standard practice of the restaurant, so please be aware!) I am grateful for the warmth of the staff. The interior of the restaurant is very spacious and beautiful. The food includes sushi and creative dishes, allowing us to enjoy the seafood of Hokkaido. The sea urchin and king crab were all fresh and delicious. Also, I really liked the local sake "Kuma Korori" (I'm not sure about the kanji). It's described as having a taste that makes you feel like a bear rolling around, but it's a refreshing dry sake that is easy to drink and delicious!! If the food and drinks are delicious, there's nothing more to ask for! vv

On November 3, 2018 (Saturday) at 19:37 (according to the receipt), we had dinner at a restaurant located right under Mount Hakodate. The menu included steamed scallops, salmon, king crab, and vegetables. It was a bit different from what I had imagined. The seafood rice cooked in a pot with scallops was nostalgic and delicious. There was also squid sashimi. The portion felt a bit small. The draft beer was 550 yen.
