I didn't know that the "Paris Dorayaki" was so popular. My husband, who loves sweets, brought it back as a souvenir. It is a limited edition with cherry blossom flavor until early May. It contains cherry blossom mochi, cherry blossom paste, and whipped cream. It is delicious. The softness of the mochi and the scent of cherry blossoms are indescribable. The combination with whipped cream is perfect. I also tried the regular Paris Dorayaki, but the cherry blossom one is definitely more delicious.

I purchased a plain pancake for ¥344 and a chocolate pancake for ¥354 at Bari Doora. The pancakes are fluffy with cream, red bean paste, and thin mochi inside. Although they may seem expensive when compared to dorayaki, they are reasonably priced for takeout pancakes. I paired them with a coffee that is low in acidity and strong in bitterness. The plain pancake was delicious, but I might have preferred more acidity in the chocolate one. Personally, I liked the plain one better. I also saw a good deal on Northman Haskap berries for ¥400 (I think), but I didn't get them as I thought I wouldn't be able to finish them. The butter candy, a favorite flavor since childhood, tasted just as good as I remembered. The cute tin is also a nice touch and now one of my favorites.

On a day off, I came to Shin-Sapporo and was browsing through shops when I stumbled upon this place. When I looked closer, I saw a large quantity of Parisian dorayaki. Parisian dorayaki is a combination of Japanese and Western styles created when Senkyu-an and Kinotoya collaborated. I had been wanting to try this, but it was so popular that I couldn't get my hands on it. This was my chance, so I immediately purchased it. The dorayaki is made with a Parisian dorayaki dough filled with plenty of cream, red bean paste, and mochi. The dough is soft, fluffy, and has a light texture with a distinct egg flavor, making it delicious. The cream is not too sweet and has a light texture, so even though there is a generous amount, it doesn't feel overwhelming. The sweetness of the red bean paste, the flavor of the azuki beans, and the chewy texture of the mochi serve as accents, making it delicious. Truly a Parisian dorayaki that combines the best of Senkyu-an and Kinotoya. I enjoyed it and would definitely buy it again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

I had always been curious about Paris Tamaiko, and there were a lot of them available even on a Sunday evening. In February, there was also a limited-time chocolate version. The actual Paris Tamaiko was surprisingly large. I thought it would expire on the same day, but it actually had a slightly longer shelf life, which was surprising. The texture was fluffy and had an eggy taste with a gentle sweetness. The cake itself was delicious even without the cream. The cream was milky with a hint of richness. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet, and I think it would also go well with chunky bean paste. It didn't necessarily need sweetened white bean paste. Honestly, the cake and the abundant cream were so flavorful that they were enough on their own. I'm glad I got to try it this time! Thank you, wu-ta!

Sapporo's long-established confectionery shop, which has been in business for over 100 years, produces a wide range of sweets from traditional Japanese wagashi to Western-style pastries and chocolates at its own factory. The main store is located in Sapporo, and there are also several shops within large retail stores in the city. I later found out that they also have a branch in Tokyo. One of the flagship products of Senkyuan, known as the "Norseman," is a classic pastry priced at 167 yen. I got it for 33 yen off as it was close to its expiration date. It is made with Hokkaido red beans wrapped in pie crust, giving it a nice golden color. It's like a traditional Japanese pie called "Pai-man." The retro packaging adds to the charm, and the taste is comforting and reliable. It was a delicious treat!

In November 2022, I visited the longstanding confectionery shop Yamajichan's Senshuian, which was established in the 10th year of the Taisho era and is celebrating its 100th anniversary. They had a new limited-edition product that is usually hard to come by, exclusive to their Parisian store. I always found it sold out, but when I passed by on a stormy day, there were only 5 left! I thought about buying them all, but then someone lined up behind me, so I left some for others and made a purchase. The fluffy treat was softer than a baby's cheek, with a light and creamy texture and a mild sweetness. The smooth red bean paste with a touch of mochi was a perfect combination, showcasing the reliable quality of this longstanding shop. It was a delightful treat!

It is a designated rare disease by the government that worsens symptoms especially when it is hot. There is still no medicine to cure my rare disease. Temporary improvement of symptoms can be achieved by administering "blood products" for 5 consecutive days. Last year, I was hospitalized 5 times for rare disease treatment. Two months ago, I was discharged for the third time this year, but one month ago, I had to be discharged for the fourth time this year. Your support comments are always a source of strength for me during hospitalization. I truly appreciate it. Thank you for your continued support.退院しましたが、体調に応じてレビューします。Due to poor health, comments and replies are significantly delayed. I will respond as soon as my condition improves, so please be patient. "Chishuan" is a long-established Japanese confectionery store founded in 1921. It is a local store in Sapporo, celebrating its 101st anniversary this year. Popular products include the long-selling "Yamajijii" and "Northman." In the past, whenever there was an occasion for gifts or condolences, "Chishuan" was always used. The popular "Rokkatei" in Obihiro used to be called "Obihiro Chishuan." It is a store that branched off from Chishuan. "Kinotoya" is a local Western confectionery store in Sapporo. Popular items such as "Kinotoya Bake" are also available within the group. Established in 1985, it is relatively new but has outlets in famous department stores such as Daimaru and Marui Imai. On September 30th of this year, the long-established "Chishuan" joined the "Kinotoya Group." The new president, Mr. Nakanishi, is only 36 years old and comes from a related company of Kinotoya. I can feel a change in taste and the flow of the times. It had been a long time since I visited "New Sapporo San Plaza" with my usual companion and stopped by "Chishuan." It was the first time since I visited the "San Plaza Aquarium" with my family when my children were young. "New Sapporo San Plaza" is home to the only urban-type aquarium in Sapporo, the "San Plaza Aquarium." It opened in 1982, making it exactly 40 years old this year. The current operation is handled by the "Sapporo Subcenter Development Public Corporation." Compared to indoor aquariums with dolphin shows, such as those at hotels,.... This store is located in the underground first floor of "New Sapporo San Plaza" in the Atsubetsu Central Area of Sapporo, near JR Shin-Sapporo Station. Please check the exact location of the store on Tabelog. It was a visit around 2 pm on a weekday. The popular "Paris Doray" was also sold at the store, but as expected, it was sold out. Since I had come all the way, I bought the "Yamajijii" in the economical "Yamajijii Hana-bukuro."■Yamajijii Hana-bukuroWeight Actual measurement 159g (after removing the wind bag) Display 150gWhen it comes to Chishuan, the "Yamajijii" is extremely famous, a super long-selling product with 18 pieces, released in 1930 (Showa 5). It uses Hokkaido butter, milk, and eggs, with a fragrant and slightly sweet taste and a crispy texture. Yamajijii is another name for bears. Not eligible for Chishuan's stamp card. This time, 3 out of 18 pieces were broken, but the taste remained the same. (laughs)Price 560 yen (tax included)April 2022 540 yenIn the past, there used to be commercials on TV with the phrase "Yamajijii has come out, Chishuan's Yamajijii carrying a salmon on a bamboo leaf, skiing with a salmon on its back, Chishuan's Yamajijii." Today's snack is Yamajijii from Chishuan." If you're from Hokkaido, you're probably familiar with this phrase. In recent years, it's a phrase you hardly hear anymore. "Reviewing the Yamajijii after half a year, I noticed a new deliciousness. I seem to feel a stronger butter flavor than before. It's a nostalgic taste that still resonates in the Reiwa era. The regular Yamajijii comes in a 12-piece pack for 900 yen and a 24-piece pack for 1500 yen. The "Yamajijii Hana-bukuro" is an economical package with 18 pieces for 560 yen. It's a welcome deal even though it's 20 yen more than in April this year.

Qianshui-an-san, who I thought had a Tokyo or somewhere atmosphere, turned out to be a true local person from Hokkaido. I bought these sweets as a reference for when I recommend sweets to people from outside the region. I purchased the "Northman" (red bean paste) and "Northern Corona" from Hokkaido. The Northman was described as having a pie crust, but it was actually quite different from the crispy image I had in mind - it was more like a moist cake, almost like a steamed bun. However, since it was made with pie crust, it was a bit firmer. The moist texture and elegant sweetness made it a delightful treat that would go well with matcha sweets. Oh, what happiness... The Northern Corona is a chocolate-based sweet. It also had a base similar to a steamed bun with a layer of fresh chocolate on top - truly luxurious. The harmony of Japanese and Western flavors. The combination of chocolate sweetness and white bean paste in the dough created a moist and elegant taste. I ate it right after buying it, but I have a feeling it would be even more delicious if chilled. By the way, the name "Corona" is not related to the coronavirus, but rather inspired by the solar corona. It does seem to shine like the sun. Thank you for the delicious treats. They also had autumn flavors like baked sweet potato and chestnut for the Northman. I would love to try these seasonal sweets as well.

Sanpiazza has various shops and it's so fun to explore. I stumbled upon Senkyuan and saw a seasonal limited edition treat, the "baked sweet potato" with the note "while supplies last!" I had to buy it (yes, it's a must!!). I also purchased the seasonal limited edition "pumpkin" together. Both were 170 yen each! The "baked sweet potato" had a moist pie crust with honey sweet potato filling, a perfect match! The "pumpkin" was more of a soft pumpkin type, not quite my preference but my companion enjoyed it (#^.^#). I will definitely buy more various sweets at another branch in the future! Thank you, Sanpiazza store!

My wife suddenly mentioned that she wanted to eat sakuramochi at night. I remembered that there was a shop in Shin-Sapporo that sold sakuramochi, so I went for a stroll and found Senkyuan! They had sakuramochi for 162 yen and a Northman with red bean paste for 170 yen. Both were not too sweet, just the way we like it. It seems like most shops these days make their sweets less sweet. But Senkyuan is still on the sweeter side, which we appreciate. It's nice to have traditional Japanese sweets once in a while. We enjoyed our snacks, and my wife was very satisfied too.

I visited Senshu-an, a long-established confectionery shop located on the basement floor of Shin-Sapporo Sunpiazza in September 2017. I usually like their Norseman sweets, but this time I bought a dorayaki. The dorayaki had a slightly uneven shape. The dough was a beautiful fox color with a nice salty taste, moist and soft. The red bean paste was packed tightly and was a soft chunky paste. The dorayaki skin was very delicious, and the bear-shaped branding was cute. Thank you for the delicious treat. ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

[Takeout] This tenant shop exclusively sells products from Senkyuan Seika Co., Ltd., which was founded in Sapporo in 1921 and specializes in the production and sale of Japanese and Western sweets. Their top items include "Yama Oyaji," "Genshirin," and "Northman." The shop is located in the Sunpiazza underground mall, specifically on the north side of the Sunpiazza Sweets Plaza where various confectionery tenants are lined up. Compared to the mainland, there are overwhelmingly more Japanese and Western confectionery shops here, reflecting a culture of Japanese and Western fusion sweets that is well-established in Hokkaido. Senkyuan in Hokkaido is a representative confectionery shop in Sapporo. I decided to explore all the shops in the new Sapporo Dungeon, except for a few. I'm determined to conquer all the stores in the Sunpiazza Sweets Plaza. This is Mogutan (Flame ω Flame) heading to the Sunpiazza Sweets Plaza after work. I chose to try Senkyuan's dorayaki. It is individually packaged, which helps it last longer. The dough is on the sweeter side, and the red bean paste is delicious. It's the definitive Japanese and Western fusion sweet born in Japan. It's a sweet moment to heal a tired heart after work. It's like learning Western culture and dressing up in a dress, but deep down, you're still a traditional Japanese woman. It's like a combination of New York and a Japanese maiden.

During the Bon Festival, all the sweet shops are crowded. Here, the boxed sweets are selling like hotcakes. There's a corner where you can buy individual pieces, and I like that you can fill your basket with as much as you want at Senkyu-an. Even if it's just one piece, there's a pleasant atmosphere to buying here. I often buy here because I don't need the box. I bought the Northman Kabocha (pumpkin) sweet for my mother who loves pumpkin sweet. She shouldn't eat too many sweet things, but she loves them, so just a little. But she'll probably say it was delicious and ask me to buy it again.

The other day, I bought Coco's Norseman. When I ate it, I found it to be a delicious fusion of Japanese and Western flavors. It's like a King's Crown, with the sweetness of Japanese red bean paste and the rich taste of Western pie crust (butter/margarine) blending together perfectly. I really liked it. This time, I bought Castilla cookies at Senkyuan for 97 yen including tax. They are cheese cookies with 3 pieces in a pack, offering decent value for money. The balance of the salty cheese and the sweetness of the sugar in the cookies was quite good. I enjoyed them. Release June 2016. Nankaihawks1's gourmet guide. Nankaihawks1's blog.

Today's snack was Yamanosuke from Chishuian. I bought Yamanosuke at Chishuian when I came to Sanpiazza. I actually wanted to eat Norseman, but since they didn't have it on Tabelog, it was Yamanosuke. I hadn't eaten Yamanosuke in a while, and I didn't particularly feel the need to try it. However, after seeing someone declare in a Chishuian review that they would try Yamanosuke next, the idea of Yamanosuke grew inside me, even appearing in my dreams occasionally. This led to a moment of urgency where I had to buy Yamanosuke somewhere. Yamanosuke was described as a Western-style senbei baked with fresh butter, milk, and eggs. When I actually tried it, the flavors of butter and milk were nice, with a simple taste. It goes well with milk. After eating it, Yamanosuke no longer appeared in my dreams, and I lived happily ever after. ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ If it appears in my dreams again, I will go buy it.

This is a confectionery shop established in 1921. "Northman" is a long-selling product released in April 1974. The red beans wrapped in pie crust are from Hokkaido. The moist pie crust and mildly sweet red bean filling create a great combination. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, a new pumpkin filling version called "Northman Pumpkin" has been released alongside the existing red bean filling. The pumpkin filling, made with Hokkaido pumpkins and white bean paste, looks delicious too!

Located on the basement floor of Sunpiazza in Shin-Sapporo, Chishuian is a sweets shop with a down-to-earth image. They are famous for their Northman, but they also offer a variety of other sweets such as Baumkuchen, Tokibi Sablé, Dorayaki, Yokan, Manju, Daifuku, Castella, and more. When I want to buy a variety of sweets or when I can't decide, I always come here. Personally, I like the Sablé called "Yama-Oyaji," but I rarely buy it. The black tin of Yama-Oyaji is impressive, and I use it to store tea leaves at home. When my current tin gets old, I will buy Yama-Oyaji again.
