This is a diner located along a national highway in Nishi-Obihiro. I thought it was run by an elderly couple based on the appearance, but it turned out that there was one male and two female staff members. They were younger than I had imagined, and the diner had a lively atmosphere, reminiscent of a good old-fashioned diner! The menu is very simple - you can choose between ramen or curry. Some customers even opt for both. The soy sauce ramen (650 yen) I ordered was a simple ramen that could also be called "chuka soba". The soup, which had a visible layer of oil on top, was a chicken broth with a strong oil flavor. The chewy noodles had a clear appearance and were delicious! The toppings were simple - chewy chashu (roast pork), green onions, and menma (seasoned bamboo shoots). Despite the simplicity, the cost performance was excellent! I was initially skeptical about the high ratings based on the appearance, but the ramen was satisfying. When I peeked into the kitchen at the time of payment, I noticed that there were very few items! With such a simple menu, they can manage with minimal ingredients and tools. I haven't seen such a clean kitchen elsewhere, haha. Even though the COVID-19 alert level is at 5, wearing masks is mandatory and talking is prohibited. The pace of time seems to be slower here compared to the rest of the world, adding to the charm of this old-fashioned diner.

Busy March, lunch nearby. These days, it's hard to find a shop where you can get a large serving of char siu ramen for under 1000 yen. The clear broth is simple but packs a punch. The layer of lard is thick, ensuring the soup stays hot until the last bite. The noodles are cooked perfectly by skilled hands with a traditional touch. The char siu is old-fashioned, requiring a hearty chew. While they haven't raised prices, the char siu has gotten smaller recently. Black pepper is provided on the table, a nice touch. Personally, I think white pepper would be a better match for the flavor (laughs). Due to the pandemic, talking is prohibited in the restaurant (you'll get scolded if you do, haha). This ramen is what you want to have there. It's the ramen you want to be there. The commitment to tradition is admirable. Despite its simplicity, it has a full-bodied taste that feels like aged wine. It's delicious.

I went to Kyuhei Shokudo! I wanted to visit after a long time, so I took the opportunity to go. It's a familiar place for ramen and curry rice. It's an old-fashioned diner that I really like. I looked at the menu and, of course, I chose soy sauce ramen. The price has not changed, it's still 650 yen, which is great. Many people order curry along with their ramen, and you can smell the delicious curry in the air. The ramen was ready in about 5 minutes. It was a simple and light soy sauce ramen. It seemed like the flavor was a bit weaker, maybe they reduced the amount of lard? But I still love this taste. This simple soy sauce ramen has its own charm. It's a ramen that I feel like visiting once in a while. Thank you for the meal.

The simple ramen in this town is perfect - the clear and light soup has depth and leaves you feeling satisfied. The restaurant was a bit cold, but the curry rice had just the right amount of spiciness. Thanks to that, I felt warm and cozy, with the room temperature just right.

I visited Mr. Hisada's shop after a long time around a little before noon. There were a couple of customers ahead of me, so I was able to sit down quickly. My order arrived in about 5 minutes. By the time it was 12:00, more and more customers started coming in. By 12:05, there were about three groups waiting. I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 650 yen and a small curry for 400 yen. The ramen soup had a sweet taste, almost like buttery sweetness, which was nostalgic and delicious. The noodles and toppings were average. The curry was just okay. But 650 yen for a bowl of ramen is cheap nowadays, right? The owner himself was working hard, serving dishes and cleaning up.

Kyudaira Shokudo October 2022. What I can do now is to support at least a restaurant while being careful enough. Let's all work together and give it our all! Today, I wanted to eat a simple salt ramen that I couldn't try last time due to a temporary closure, so I visited a long-established ramen shop, "Kyudaira Shokudo." It is located near Hanazono on the west side of Nishi-Obihiro. The exterior is a white-walled two-story residential building on the first floor. The interior is cozy, with currently two counter seats, two 4-person table seats, and two 4-person table seats on a raised platform. It seems like the son may have become the second generation. I ordered the Salt Ramen for 650 yen (tax included) and the Curry Rice for 650 yen (tax included). It arrived in about 10 minutes. The toppings were chicken char siu, menma, nori, and simple thick curly noodles. The clear and beautiful soup was made with pork bones and chicken bones, with a sesame oil aroma and a strong vegetable flavor, making it a delicious soup. The curry, like at Hanazono, had a rich and sweet taste, as well as a good portion size, making it delicious. I almost wanted to get seconds. I will definitely come back to eat ramen at this ramen shop, which also serves great curry. Thank you for the meal. Kyudaira Shokudo ☆ Business hours: 11:00-19:00 ☆ Closed on Sundays and holidays

"Kyubei Shokudo" is a classic ramen shop that makes you crave their ramen regularly. I personally only eat soy sauce or salt flavors, but both are recommended! The noodles are firm and the soup is light. The chashu is always delicious, made with old-fashioned chicken thigh meat. The toppings are simple with green onions, bamboo shoots, and seaweed. The mother and son who run the shop are very kind. It's a great place to eat!

I visited this place tonight. The restaurant I originally planned to go to was closed, so I searched for a nearby alternative. Due to the state of emergency, they close at 8 PM. The restaurant specializes in ramen and curry, so I expected a variety of set meals as well. However, they only offered ramen and curry, which was a bit surprising. They have a simple menu with only two options. Since it was my first time here, I tried the soy sauce ramen for 650 yen, which is quite cheap. The soup was a combination of chicken and pork bone, but I was a bit concerned about the preparation. The soup was covered in lard, which kept the ramen hot until the end. It had a traditional taste to it, but personally, I found it a bit lacking. I plan to try a different menu item next time. Thank you for the meal.

"Hisahira" in Obihiro, I'm alone here and the snow removal took much longer than expected. Normally, I would cancel at this point, but I have a reservation today and I don't want to pay a cancellation fee. I didn't make a reservation for lunch and decided to try the ramen shop in Obihiro. I have never seen or passed by this place before. It's a diner. I'm a bit worried, but I go in. Inside, there are only 3 seats at the red counter and a few tables. I order the salt ramen and it arrives in 5 minutes. It looks light and has a sesame oil flavor. The atmosphere is old-fashioned with faint background music. The noodles are familiar and not too yellow. The price is reasonable at 650 yen. The menma is a bit too drained of salt and the nori is small. The taste is cheap, and the soup lacks depth. The chashu is thin and doesn't hide anywhere. The sesame oil flavor is noticeable. Overall, the taste is 3.3 and the cost performance is 4.0, making it a 3.6. I hope they keep doing their best."

"I was drawn to visit this place by reviews describing it as 'gentle,' 'heartwarming,' and 'soothing.' I was the only customer inside. I ordered soy sauce ramen and a small curry for 1050 yen. The soup was light and I could have kept drinking it endlessly. The curry was gentle yet had a bit of a kick. I definitely want to visit again."

There is a slightly large parking lot next to the shop. Inside the shop, there are 3 counter seats in front of the kitchen, and 2 tables and 2 small raised seating areas. It's a small shop. There were a son and two women. The restroom is clean. The bookshelf is organized. Despite the passage of time, there is a sense of cleanliness in the shop. I ordered the Char Siu Ramen for 750 yen. The appearance is a traditional ramen that is not trendy. It comes with green onions, bamboo shoots, small seaweed, and 5 small pieces of Char Siu. The Char Siu was a bit firm. The soup has an old-fashioned and gentle taste. What impressed me along with the taste was the customer service. It's a small ramen shop, but you can have a pleasant time. Who provided this great service? It was a wonderful shop that makes you want to go back again.

Soy sauce chashu ramen for 750 yen with a small side of rice for 150 yen. The menu is simple but the soup is clear and light. The five slices of chashu are a nice touch. Recently, it has become a more affordable option for lunch. The service is also quite fast. There are quite a few customers, so it seems to be thriving.

Visited on a Saturday evening. No other customers. The faded sign for ramen and curry rice outside gave the impression of a nostalgic, old-fashioned diner. However, upon entering, the overly cheerful greeting from the owner immediately exceeded expectations. Ordered the Shio Chashu Ramen for 750 yen. The noodles were pale and slightly thick for a shio ramen. They lacked the chewy texture of Sapporo ramen, but had a gentle flavor and texture that was quite delicious. The clear shio soup had a subtle sesame oil aroma, with a light body and oil content. It had a direct saltiness that was well-balanced and interesting, avoiding becoming overly salty. Toppings included 5 slices of chicken chashu, nori, menma, and green onions. The combination of the green onions and the light, salty soup was excellent, making it easy to slurp up. The chashu had a strong soy sauce flavor, evoking a nostalgic feel like the restaurant's exterior. The harmony of the exterior, interior, menu, dishes, prices, and service at this restaurant was truly beautiful. Overall, the evaluation of the restaurant is based more on the overall experience than just the taste of the food.

I headed to my favorite ramen shop, but to my surprise, it was temporarily closed. Feeling disappointed, I decided to visit another potential restaurant, called "Kyuhei Shokudo." I took a picture of the nice exterior before entering and sitting at the counter. I ordered the soy sauce ramen (650 yen) as recommended. The ramen was served quickly, with a flavorful broth that was slightly sweet. The thin, curly noodles were cooked just right. The toppings included tender and tasty chashu, crunchy sliced green onions, slightly soft menma, and square-cut seaweed. I also added a small portion of rice (150 yen), which was delicious on its own. I finished everything and it was a satisfying meal.

This morning was quite cold, so I decided to go to Kyuhei Shokudo for some warm food. Around 1:30 pm, there were no other customers. I ordered the Shio Ramen for 650 yen (tax included). It arrived in about 5 minutes and had a nice sesame oil aroma. The soup was a clear, light amber color with a delicious flavor of chicken and plenty of vegetables. It was light, with a subtle sesame oil scent, making it very tasty. The noodles were medium-thick, slightly curly, and had a simple yet delicious taste of wheat, complemented by the light chicken broth. Overall, it was a simple but delicious ramen. Thank you for the meal.

A classic, old-fashioned ramen with a generous serving of noodles in a light broth. The noodles are firm and chewy, and the soup is so delicious you'll want to drink every drop.

I went to Kyuhei Shokudo! It's been a while since I've been there. This is a place where you can eat ramen and curry. The location is a little north of Nishi-Obihiro Station, an old ramen shop. I had a sudden craving for that nostalgic ramen, so I took action and went there. I visited on a weekday after 1 pm, and there were no customers. The menu hasn't changed. I ordered the shoyu ramen. The shop is run by three people, the owner (maybe the son?) and two women. The atmosphere inside the shop is full of Showa era vibes. They also serve curry, but I decided not to have it. After about a 7-minute wait, the ramen arrived. It was delicious, with a rich, slightly sweet soup and the noodles were good too. The medium-thick noodles had a light twist to them. The color of the soup was dark, and it reminded me of the ramen I used to eat. It was a comforting taste. Oh, and the shop is non-smoking, which is great. Kyuhei Shokudo is a place that I might feel like coming back to occasionally, and it lived up to my expectations today. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, but I always ended up going to popular places like Horyu or Kaen nearby, so I couldn't visit. Finally, I made my first visit. The cooking is done by two mothers, and the front of the house is run by what seems like a friendly older brother and an uncle. They are very friendly, and the mothers are very attentive, making it a very cozy place. As a safety measure, if there are fewer options on the menu, I usually order that. I ordered a small ramen (salt) and it arrived quickly. As it was served, a good aroma accompanied it. The sesame flavor was prominent, and although the soup didn't have a strong dashi taste, it had a slightly salty taste. However, it was not too salty, and because of the good aroma, I ended up eating it all at once. In addition, the homely atmosphere made the meal very delicious. The customers, other than myself, were regulars, but I was still able to enjoy a calm and delicious meal. Thank you for the meal.
