I visited the restaurant at 5:35 PM on a regular day. Located about a 6-minute walk from the subway station "Higashi-Umeda Station," behind the Ohtenjin Shrine, it is a restaurant selected as one of the "Bar Top 100 2022" on Tabelog. Established in 1918, the interior of the shop has a classic design with subdued lighting and a total of about 10 seats. It is a small shop managed by one veteran bartender. The bartender was dressed in a white shirt, bow tie, and black vest. I ordered the following items this time. The content and evaluation are as follows: Charm: Peanuts were served promptly, with a mix of salted and unsalted. Seabass Regal: A delicious highball with Scotch whiskey established in 1801, served in a glass with a taper and a single cube of ice. Raisin Butter: A tasty snack with salted crackers and sweet raisin butter. There was no background music. The clientele consisted of mature adults from Sonezaki, including individuals, gentlemen, and couples. The occupancy rate was about 80%, with a female ratio of about 20%. The Tabelog rating at the time of the visit was 3.66. The bartender's dignified demeanor added to the charm of the place. The antique interior elements like posters, ornaments, and clocks added to the historical feel of the place, reminiscent of the "Great Osaka Era" when Osaka surpassed Tokyo in population and industrial output. It was a top-notch bar that left a lasting impression. Thank you for the meal!

Visit date and time: 20:30 on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: Visited after having a meal nearby and wanting to relax with a drink. The exterior had a nice historical feel. Upon entering, there were still tables available. I had a citrus cocktail and a gin and tonic. Both had a refreshing citrus flavor and were easy to drink and delicious. There are many good restaurants nearby, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I came to this bar for a final drink after a meal. I had a good experience at Sambou in Ginza, so I wanted to come here as well. I ordered a Campari plum wine soda, which caught my eye while standing at the counter. It was my first time trying this combination, but the sweetness, acidity, and refreshing carbonation were great. They made it carefully, with a large piece of ice and big plum, which was nice. The calm atmosphere was also good, and I had a great time at this nice bar.

I entered the restaurant right after it opened at 5 o'clock. I heard that their highball is famous so I ordered one. It didn't have ice but it was kept cold and easy to drink. I was happy when they brought out nuts as soon as I sat down. The atmosphere was calm and it's easy to come in alone.

When I came to Osaka, I found a quiet little restaurant tucked away in a corner near Ohatsu Tenjin soba. They serve highballs without ice, filled to the brim in a glass. I paired it with oil sardines, lightly seared and deliciously warm. The salt, pepper, and lemon flavors complemented the highball perfectly. After the course, I wanted to drink a little more, so I went to a famous bar and ordered a classic highball. Automatically, peanuts were served with it. The taste was decent, but it wasn't particularly outstanding haha. The peanuts, however, were delicious after not having them in a while. Thank you for the meal!

This place feels like a sanctuary for cheerful salarymen. The customers are full of energy! The power of the older men is enough to make the young people leave. Having a place like this is really great. I also felt that it's a place where you can get quite drunk and drink without worrying too much.

Samba-style highball for 1000 yen. Peanuts and highball are served. The atmosphere inside the bar is quiet and has a nostalgic feel. I'm not sure about the taste of the highball, but it seems quite strong. I found out that the drinks here are basically doubles, which may be a good deal. It's nice to quietly get a little drunk in this room and then go to another place for more drinks.

On this day, I wandered around the back alleys on the east side of Ohatsu Tenjin and arrived at the venerable bar, Kita Sanboa. The interior of the bar has a standing counter and a few tables where you can sit. It must have been about 10 years ago when the building was being rebuilt due to its aging structure, but the old atmosphere was preserved and the interior was maintained with the same design as before. The polished interior exudes a sense of history and grandeur, creating a refreshing and solemn atmosphere. The specialty of this bar is the highball, made with chilled whiskey and soda without ice. This highball has a well-balanced taste that penetrates the body. There is no music or background music in this bar. The only sounds you hear are the ticking of the clock and the sound of the bartender making drinks. Drinking in the silence of this bar helps to calm the mind. The back alleys of Ohatsu Tenjin are home to many traditional and renowned establishments, but a few of them were lost in a fire two years ago. I hope that Kita Sanboa will continue to thrive for a long time.

This is the place to go for some pre-drinks in this area. And, without a doubt, the Sanbo-style highball for 1000 yen. The relaxed atmosphere here is just irresistible. You really have to take your time drinking this, or you'll get seriously drunk, haha. Thanks for the meal.

This shop near Ohatsu Tenjin is one that I used to visit occasionally when I was working in Osaka. It had been a while since my last visit. There are several Sambos in this area, but this one is my favorite in terms of atmosphere. There are chairs and tables, but it's mainly a standing style place. When I went around 7:40pm on a weekday, there was only one other customer. A few more people came later, but they were all alone. I ordered a highball. Even though there was no ice, it was impressively cold. The serving size was quite generous, so someone with a low tolerance might get tipsy after a few drinks. It's a reliable place with delicious drinks, perfect for when you want to relax alone. I'd like to visit again.

Today, I feel like going to a bar. If I were to drink at a bar, this is the place to go. It's a standing bar, but the atmosphere is amazing. It's a place where you can feel the history. It's a luxury to be able to talk to the bartender while looking at the interior. The lack of background music was also pleasant. I highly recommend everyone to stop by.

At this bar in Omi Tenjin, the third stop of the night, I ordered a Laphroaig as my last drink. The aroma was so soothing. My companions all ordered highballs, which I later found out are famous here. Watching them being made, I saw that they pour whiskey over ice, stir it a few times, remove the ice, add carbonated water, and finish with a citrus twist. It looked delicious, so I ordered another highball. It was really tasty, refreshing, and the flavor didn't dilute because there was no ice.

After having a light meal at a familiar restaurant in Ohatsu Tenjin, I decided to finish off my meal at this place. I often visit the two Sanboa stores in Kitashinchi, but this one is my first time. All of the Sanboa stores have a long history, but this one in particular is a super long-established store, with over 90 years since its founding. It has been renovated and is in a beautiful state. Inside the store, there were only two gentlemen as the first customers. Just like the other Sanboa stores, there was no background music playing. The basic style is standing at the high counter, lightly resting your arms on it. The counter has a beautifully aged top, giving it a nice vintage look. When you come to Sanboa, you must have a highball. It's famous for being delicious even without ice. I ordered the oil sardines as a side dish. I love the "Take-naka Canned" sardines, which have been featured a few times on Tabelog. The combination of highball and these oil sardines is unbeatable. As the other customers left, I was the only one in the store. The ticking of the clock was oddly soothing. I had a light conversation with the master and enjoyed a peaceful time. This is truly a great place.

After indulging in American steak and finishing with a martini, I felt the urge to have one more drink before heading back to the hotel. I decided to visit "Kita Sanboa" located near the Ume-Shindo intersection, off a side street from Shin-Midosuji. "Sanboa" is a renowned bar group established in 1918, known for its unique atmosphere and service. I have visited their branches in Dojima, Kita-Shinchi, Umeda, Kyoto, and Ginza before, but this was my first time at "Kita." The bar had a classic British vibe with a welcoming ambiance. I ordered their signature highball, made with Suntory whiskey, which was served without ice and chilled whiskey. It was delicious and distinct from other bars. I also enjoyed some Nanjing beans and my favorite oil sardines. The bar offered a variety of whiskeys, and I tried Ichiro's Malt MWR, Seabag Regal 18-year-old, and GlenDronach 21-year-old, which was particularly delightful. The GlenDronach is a Highland distillery established in 1826, known for its full-bodied flavor with a balance of sweetness and bitterness. I was impressed by the selection of spirits at this old-fashioned bar. It's a convenient spot, and I will definitely visit again on my next business trip. The total bill came to around 16,000 yen.
