Moved by the deliciousness ☆ Live crab "Hairy Crab" I am in charge of "employee training" in Hokkaido, Obihiro, and I go there regularly. Hokkaido is a treasure trove of delicious food. I have always loved this place as a foodie. My father was a big food lover, so we used to go to Hokkaido often. Every time we went, we bought a lot of delicious food and brought it back to Nagoya. Back then, when courier services were not as common as they are now, we had to bring them back ourselves. One of the souvenirs my father always brought back was "Hairy Crab." It is still my favorite crab. My father had a stroke when I was in my early twenties. Since then, I have had the opportunity to go to Hokkaido for work and take my mother on a trip to Hokkaido. Thanks to work and the Moriwajuku, I have made many acquaintances in Hokkaido. I enjoy eating the delicious food of Hokkaido that my father taught me about when I was young. I am a foodie, so I am grateful to have the opportunity to be treated to delicious food in various places. "Crab" is one of my favorite foods, so I have been able to eat a variety of them. But in Hokkaido, I think "Hairy Crab" is by far the most delicious! There are various types of crabs such as king crab and snow crab, but I like "Hairy Crab" the best. When I told this to the president of Yagetsu, a famous confectionery shop in Obihiro, he took me to a specialty crab restaurant in Obihiro called "Kani Taisho." (This is a photo from April this year, but I'm dressed for winter because it's cold in Obihiro) The appearance of the restaurant is not luxurious, but the owner's commitment to crab is amazing! I realized how valuable it is to "boil live crabs in the restaurant." On that day, I was treated to my favorite "Hairy Crab" and various crab assortments such as king crab. They were all full of meat and incredibly juicy. The crab flavor was rich, and everything was really delicious! Of course, we also had sake (cold sake) together, and it goes well with crab! The crab was so delicious and the sake was so good that it was impressive. When I eat crab, I always dip it in my favorite "vinegar." However, this restaurant does not have a dipping sauce. The reason for this is written on the website: "We do not provide dipping sauce because we use high-quality live crabs. If you put sauce on good crab, you won't be able to taste the true flavor of the crab." I deeply understood this commitment as well. Hokkaido has a lot of delicious food not only crabs but also at any time of the year. Corn, melon, potatoes, pumpkins, saury, salmon... the list goes on and on. Every time I go there for work, I have very little free time, but just being in my beloved Hokkaido and breathing in the fresh air makes me happy. Hokkaido, the big land = a truly rich land. Grateful for the connection ☆
