I saw the pop-up notices in the elevator and felt confident, so I decided to try it on the last morning. In conclusion, the food was far from what was advertised, and I was quite disappointed. The sashimi was not freshly cut as stated, the presentation looked amateurish, the curry was not soup curry as expected, and many items seemed frozen. It was a letdown. Fortunately, I used a travel support coupon, so it was free, but I was disappointed with the quality. However, the room, public bath, and hotel staff's hospitality were good. I stayed at this hotel because the breakfast looked delicious. It is located a few minutes walk from Nakajima Koen Station. The hotel is clean and has a large communal bath. You can check the congestion information on the smart TV. I relaxed by watching YouTube on TV and drinking alcohol. Breakfast is served at the restaurant on the first floor. The front desk staff mentioned that it could get crowded, but I was able to enter without any issues. By the time I left around 8 o'clock, there were customers waiting. Although there were empty seats, I wonder if it was a measure against COVID-19. I checked the dishes lined up immediately after being seated. They had specialties like pork bowl, soup curry, cream croquette, scallop and trout sashimi, thick rolled omelette, grilled salmon, herring, etc. The soup curry was mild in spiciness but rich and delicious. It was luxurious with ingredients like warm vegetables, potatoes, sausages, thick rolled omelette, and pork bowl meat. The croquette came with a generous amount of tartar sauce, and I had four plates of sashimi. The salmon side dish was delicious. The rice was also delicious, so I had tarako and shiokara. The pudding had a nostalgic taste and was delicious. There were no issues with the replenishment of dishes, and I had a pleasant time.

JAL Hotels operates business hotels, currently managed by Okura Nikko Hotel Management. Originally established with investment from Japan Airlines, it became part of the Hotel Okura Group after Japan Airlines' company reorganization in 2010. This particular JAL City hotel in Sapporo Nakajima Park is relatively new, having opened in 2019. I have stayed here around 10 times and found the facilities to be clean and pleasant due to the new building. The presence of a large public bath is a big plus for me. The breakfast at this hotel costs 2,500 yen at the official price, which is on the higher side compared to other hotels in Sapporo. The buffet offers a decent variety of dishes, and the quality of the food is not bad. Personally, I think the rice here is delicious. There used to be "ikura" (salmon roe) at the sashimi corner, but it seems to be missing now since the management changed, which is quite disappointing. I stayed at this hotel for two nights and three days to attend a live performance by Sakanaction. On the second morning, I was looking forward to breakfast. There was a sign saying no photography allowed inside the restaurant (sad face). Therefore, I can only share the menu I chose. I was happy to have fresh sashimi for breakfast. In addition to Hokkaido specialties like soup curry and pork bowl, having soft-serve ice cream as a drink is a big plus for me (laughs). It was delicious. For breakfast, the hotel includes a buffet style with a variety of local ingredients and dishes that make me want to try everything. However, as someone who prioritizes vegetables, I find myself already feeling full from the salads and tomatoes. Even so, I can't resist the temptation to eat more. Overeating at breakfast always leads to regret later, but the colorful assortment of mini tomatoes is irresistible to a tomato lover like me. Today's menu included Spanish omelette, zangi (fried chicken), venison curry, and sashimi with tuna and scallops. The sashimi was delicious, so I had seconds. The tuna was not watery, and the scallops were sweet and fresh. There was also grilled fish, which included shishamo (smelt fish). The zangi had a spicy seasoning, giving it a unique flavor. Overall, everything was very delicious today.

I used the breakfast buffet. Many people said the rice was delicious, so I was looking forward to it. On this day, they had soup curry, pork bowl, and crab cream croquettes as daily specials. There was also sashimi, but I don't like it so I declined. Maybe because the rice was delicious, everything tasted good. The soup curry had a nice spicy flavor, and it suited my taste even though I couldn't identify the spices. The grilled fish had thick flesh and was also good. The dessert cake was delicious too.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this was my first stay at a new One Harmony hotel in Sapporo. Breakfast in Hokkaido is always a highlight with so many great hotels to choose from. I definitely overate this morning. Thank you for the delicious meal.
