In March 2021, near the Yamabana tram stop in Chuo Ward, there is a highly anticipated facility called Hokkai Market. I thought they offered great value bento boxes, so I decided to try the 680 yen "Bento" box. The presentation was beautiful with delicious rice topped with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, asparagus, and purple sweet potato, each with its own unique flavor. The ingredients were tasty, including sweet and sour pork, sautéed burdock root, mashed potatoes, roasted onions, and rapeseed flower salad. The bento box was carefully arranged with a variety of small side dishes, making it a luxurious and satisfying meal. It was a meal without regrets. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located in the Sanabiki area, within Acros Plaza Minami 22-jo, is "Hokkai Ichiba". I came here to buy ingredients and also decided to get lunch. They didn't have a wide variety of bento boxes, but the prices were very reasonable. I purchased the "Katsu Don (454 yen)" shown in the photo this time. It had a homemade feel commonly seen in supermarkets, and the quality matched the price. It was simply delicious. The portion size was decent, and it was cheaper than convenience store bento boxes, making it a good option when looking to have a budget-friendly meal.

"Chicken wing toro with leek salt seasoning" I like shoulder meat, so I don't mind whether it's beef, pork, or chicken. Trimming the skin reveals a refreshing muscle quality and umami. "Domestic chicken tenderloin" at 98 yen per gram is cheap (average 128 yen). If it's not domestically produced, it has a unique taste, so this is a good deal. "Pork harami" When you trim the thin skin (fatty part), it becomes incredibly soft. Didn't buy any fish w. The cashier lady's service at the register was good~

"Hokkai Market" is a perfect market for common people like me. The prices are cheap overall. The prepared foods are cooked in each store, not purchased, so they can be sold at a low price. There are 6 stores in Sapporo. The "Hokkai Market Yamabana Store" opened on November 13, 2019. I parked in the facility's parking space. I visited before 11 am on a weekday. The store was quite crowded from the morning. It's cleaner and newer than other "Hokkai Markets." It's more like a "Hokkai Super" than the usual "Hokkai Market." (laughs) Since it started snowing heavily, I quickly bought what I wanted and headed home. When I arrived home, the blizzard had stopped. (laughs) Pacific Ocean sea urchin sashimi 100g for 108 yen. I had it as hand-rolled sushi. Bought 2 packs for 359 yen (tax included) and 206 yen (tax included). Time service: Hokkaido pork loin for shabu-shabu 100g for 120 yen. Bought 2 packs for 387 yen (tax included) and 340 yen (tax included). Russian sweet salted salmon 3 slices for 430 yen (tax included). Niigata Sado seedless large persimmon weighing around 280g for 79 yen each (tax included). Hokkaido Shinano Sweet weighing around 500g for 107 yen each (tax included). Amelato tomato clearance sale 2 packs for 162 yen (tax included). Mini tomatoes clearance sale for 87 yen (tax included) instead of 239 yen (tax included). Oranges clearance sale for 162 yen (tax included). The Pacific sea urchin is like the tuna for common people. It's reasonably priced and tasty. I personally love bluefin tuna, but this is wallet-friendly, so no problem. (laughs) I enjoyed it as hand-rolled sushi. The fruits were very cheap that day. The clearance items were not bad if eaten immediately. Next time, I want to take my time and check out the prepared foods and meat section. It was delicious, thank you.

Located inside Acros Plaza Minami 22-jo, Nishi 7, Sapporo City. Opened in November last year (2019). Managed by Moriwa Co., Ltd., known for its abundance of fish varieties. While I have visited a few times the store located along the river in Minami-ku, which also offers a wide range of fish, I had not visited this particular store until now. The prices for fresh fish seem a bit high, but the prices for meat are quite low and have remained so even after being open for over two months. There is a supermarket called "Benri" nearby that I have been going to for a long time, where vegetables are cheap and fresh, but when it comes to meat, North Sea Market takes the lead. One downside is that this store does not have a prepared food section, which is a negative point for me. However, they do offer sushi bento boxes, and surprisingly, the nigiri sushi was delicious. Despite its appearance not being exceptional, the taste was outstanding, comparable to department store quality. Another product I liked was the packaged Hokkaido muki-hoya, a must-have item for a hoya enthusiast like myself. There are many rare fish varieties as well. If one portion is 421 yen, it's not bad. "Fresh salmon roe" is of good quality for this season. The large grains and 100g for 518 yen (480 yen excluding tax) have a sense of value. The 216 yen for the "large bunch of bananas" is truly cheap. The 3 pieces for 540 yen of "Live Kitami" is reasonable. The "opening celebration gift" was a nice service. We enjoyed it as a snack at 3 o'clock with my usual companion. Despite the crowded customers, the checkout lines were not too long. There were also many people just looking around. Next time, I would like to take a leisurely look at the delicatessen and meat corner. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Meat is cheap, fish is plentiful.

It's been 2 and a half years since NTT Seminar Center changed to Across Plaza, time flies! Have you tried the bento boxes at the corner in the back on the right where Hokkai Market used to be? They are very unique and delicious, not your typical bento options. I recently tried the "Tender Pork Belly Red Wine Stew Bento Box (627 yen)", and it was amazing! The bento had a French-style red wine stew surrounded by side dishes like hijiki and beans, bamboo shoots and konjac, potatoes and snow peas, broccoli and mashed potatoes, fried chicken, simmered dish, and pickles. The bento was not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine through, and the pork belly was tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, the bento shop will be closing at the end of March, so if you want to try it, now is the time!

I found some salty salted salmon on my way back home to my parents' house and bought it. It had no fat and was tough. It was definitely very salty, but the roe was removed.
