In the last day of a week of work in the Eniwa and Chitose area, I visited the "Chitose Ham Factory Direct Store"! The store used to be known as the nationwide chain "Sagami Ham", which may be more familiar to some. The store offers cheaper prices compared to buying in store, so it was packed with customers buying gifts for the end of the year, Christmas, and New Year's. Many companies are also wrapping up work tomorrow, including "Old Miss" where I work! It's customary for us to end the year with an office drinking party. Today, I'll get some snacks for the party from here: smoked liver, prosciutto, smoked turkey, roast beef, and roast pork. Let's all enjoy them together!

It was a bit hard to find, but they had a ham sale! Chitose ham for 300 yen was 250 yen, sliced ham for half price, and Hokkaido Hidaka Dairy cheese for 135 yen.

Recently, I haven't been able to find the Chitose Ham sausages at Nagasaki-ya in Muroran. They were made from Hokkaido pork and were reasonably priced, which was nice. I stopped by here because I was passing by. I asked the staff which items were made using Hokkaido pork, and they pointed out a few options. I wish I had bought more, especially to send to my children. They come in 300g packs for 320 yen, and they are quite filling. I also bought some Hidaka butter, which was priced similar to regular butter. I had seen it before but never tried it, it looked delicious. You can buy it here and have it sent from here, which makes choosing enjoyable.

I usually buy Hokkaido pork sausages from Nagasaki-ya, so I stopped by to see if there were any special deals. It's hard to tell which products use Hokkaido pork just by looking at them in the store. I heard that all the bacon varieties are different, which may be due to the price. It's a shame. The sausages I usually buy are always fresh and the same price. I was holding the last discounted sausage, and it turned out to be the one I usually buy on sale. I'm glad I could get one. I bought quite a few and it came to around 1500 yen. They may not be additive-free, but considering the price and quality, I think it's good.

One of the regular places I visit is the so-called factory outlet attached to the Hokkaido Chitose Ham factory. This shop mainly sells processed meat products such as ham and sausages, and it is a popular spot where customers come in non-stop on holidays. The secret of its popularity may lie in the wide variety of products, but perhaps it is the affordability and good taste that attract many customers. You may get these everyday household items cheaper here than at supermarkets. Since there are no prominent landmarks, some people have ended up wandering around the area after missing the arrow signs for directions. Therefore, I recommend confirming the location before visiting. If you ever find yourself in the Chitose area, why not stop by and check it out?

Farmers' market and festival are both my first visit. I bought Cheese Wieners (280g for 348 yen + tax, with a special sale discount of 50 yen) and Candy Mozzarella (135 yen + tax) for my family's bento. We have been into wieners lately, and since my family and I love cheese, we chose the cheese-filled ones. The wieners have a crunchy texture and a gooey cheese filling, perfect for bento or as a snack. While waiting in line, I came across Candy Mozzarella, small cheese in candy shapes, which is a perfect snack. I usually eat cheese sticks, but this is a nice alternative. There were also booths selling special Chashu Ramen and Beef Curry by Senri Ham, as well as a coffee truck. I received a flyer for Senri Ham's anniversary sale and decided to visit their market. The place was crowded, but the staff were efficient at the checkout. There were separate lines for cash and credit card payments. I noticed some industry professionals shopping with full baskets. Although I briefly hesitated due to the long lines, my companion insisted on waiting. Overall, it was a great experience, and I appreciate the effort put into the event.

This time, I visited a shop for the first time after visiting the Cup Noodle factory with my companion in Chitose City, located in the industrial park of Jōshin. The shop mainly sells ham, sausages, and bacon, but they also have flavored hormone and Genghis Khan, which I like, so I bought hormone as a snack for drinking. My companion bought Wiener sausages and raw ham as well. We paid and left the shop. Back home, I cooked the hormone with bean sprouts in a frying pan and added a secret weapon, "Yama miso," to adjust the taste since it was quite sweet. The final dish had a sweet and spicy taste. In my opinion, the best hormone is from a shop in Yuni-cho, followed by the hormone from a shop nearby.

On the way back from a one-night hot spring trip on August 21, 2016, we made a detour to "Chitose Ham Direct Sales Office Campanula." The small store was filled with ham, bacon, sausages, and more. Despite the crowded atmosphere with seven of us and other customers, the prices were very cheap. We chose block bacon for 580 yen, cut bacon for 520 yen, and smoked liver for 350 yen. We used the cut bacon for spinach sauté, pasta carbonara with the block bacon, and the smoked liver as a drinking snack. Everything was delicious and felt like a great deal. Thank you.

I visited the store again around May 2016 and saw a banner for a sale! I couldn't resist buying the delicious roast ham that I had tried before. I was tempted by the ¥2000 lucky bag but ended up buying a lot of smoked liver and other items because they were so cheap. The prices are really amazing! I envy those who live nearby.
Before March 2016, a friend treated me to some delicious Chitose ham and I was looking for a place to buy it. I couldn't find it at New Chitose Airport, so I searched and found out there was a direct sales store on the way to the airport. They had regular and outlet items, so I bought the regular ones as souvenirs and tried out various outlet items at home. The regular items were also very cheap. The quality may vary depending on personal preference. The bacon block was unbelievably cheap, but it lacked the smoky flavor and was too soft and watery, which was disappointing. The smoked chicken breast was too salty for me. I tried various items like smoked sausages, bacon, etc., and found that the ham was the most delicious for me. It's worth a visit for a drive, as you can sample the products and send them via Yu-Pack. I would like to visit again. The staff at the register were very friendly and informed me about the schedule for the next sale.

In February 2016, there is a Chitose Ham shop a little way down from Route 36. Inside the Chitose Ham factory, there is a store where you can find outlet products. On this particular day, they had a special on bacon. I also purchased outlet wieners and chicken, all of which were a great deal. The wieners are a bargain with some end pieces included, perfect for cutting up and adding to soup. The bacon is thick-cut and delicious when fried. My personal favorite is the smoked chicken, which is tender, juicy, and has a great smoky flavor. It's not greasy and I prefer it over the pork bacon. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

It's quite cheap... Inspired by a friend's words, we made a slight detour during a drive. In a corner of the factory district is Chitose Ham... As soon as we parked the car inside the factory gate, we found a direct sales store. Inside the not-so-large building, there were refrigerated showcases filled with various hams and sausages for sale. What caught my eye were the "fatty bacon" and "smoked spare ribs". The fatty bacon, when lightly seared, oozes plenty of fat and is incredibly flavorful. Just a quick sear and it's a satisfying dish. However, it seems like it's just marinated in the so-called "smoking liquid" and heated, so a bit disappointing. And the smoked spare ribs with bones... in blocks! Searing them lightly while cutting along the bone... these are delicious! Goes well with alcohol! We finished them in no time... I have to go buy more! LOL

Today in Chitose, it started off sunny but has since become cloudy. I had the day off work, so I decided to check out the Golden Week Fair at the Chitose Ham Factory's direct sales store in Jochuto, Chitose City. It's a bit of a walk from where I live, about a 45-minute walk, but the weather was nice so I walked there. The Chitose Ham Factory was a new experience for me, and they had a variety of products like bacon blocks, wieners, ham, Genghis Khan, and dumplings available for purchase. They also had samples for tasting. I ended up buying a pack for 1,000 yen, which included two bacon packs, two ground pork wieners, and roast ham. The Golden Week Fair is ongoing until May 7th.

On June 7th, this week is the three sisters' sports day. I bought some white sausages, bacon, and roast ham for lunch bento, as well as two outlet products. The white sausages are the children's favorite, so I had to buy them. My husband also wanted bacon for snacks, so I had to buy that too. I had to resist saying "use your own money!" and quickly paid for everything before being asked for more. I can't wait to see the kids' happy faces. I wonder if they will do well at the sports day.
One day, I saw a review by the My Reviewer, Hapi☆Para Naorin, about shopping at the Chitose Ham direct store, and I just had to go. I had seen the flyer before, but for some reason, I never went. I bought the coarse ground pork sausages and the outlet pork sausages. These sausages and ham are used at "Takoyaki Teppou" and "Tanaka Family". When I cooked and ate them at home, the slight sweetness of the fat was very delicious. The outlet products were only 300 yen, so it was a great deal. They also sold products for yakiniku, like horumon, in the store. I think I will be visiting more often in the coming season. Because first, there's the sports day! Sausages are a must. And then, yakiniku! With lots of kids, sausages are more popular than meat. First, I need to go buy some for the sports day! I look forward to writing another review after my next visit.

I visited this place after seeing a review by "はぴ☆ぱら なおりん" and going all the way to "tuyopon". It's really located inside a factory premises. There is a direct sales store near the entrance of the premises. The store is about half the size of a typical convenience store. They sell sausages, ham, and even offal. It was a weekday, but there were quite a few ordinary housewives and salarymen skipping work to do some shopping (laughs). As other reviewers mentioned, it's really cheap. Some products were priced close to 100 yen per gram. It's great for beer snacks and barbecues in this season. The store is now closed only on Wednesdays, instead of on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Visited this restaurant after finding it on Tabelog. It's actually a direct sales outlet for the Ham factory. It's located in the parking lot of the Chitose Ham factory. The exterior of the store was different from what I saw on Tabelog. Turns out, they had just opened a new store only 2 days ago. What a coincidence! There were even flowers for the grand opening. Inside the store, there was a huge selection of ham, sausages, and more. I couldn't help but fill my basket with lots of items (laughs). I plan to use them for a barbecue at my parents' house tomorrow. The next day, at the barbecue, we grilled and ate the sausages. They were really delicious! My dad and brother loved them too. I couldn't finish all the other items, so they ended up in my fridge and freezer at home. I've been enjoying them one by one. They all have great flavors. Oh, in the summer, we often have Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) outdoors, and we usually eat spicy sausages with chili peppers. They're called "Karatou" and are commonly sold in supermarkets. I found out that these Karatou are actually made by Chitose Ham! I had no idea... I've been a fan without even knowing it (laughs). They also have outlet items, so there's a good deal and a wide selection. I'd love to go back and buy more if I have the chance!

I applied for a giveaway product that was being broadcast on a certain radio show, but unfortunately, I didn't win. So, I decided to go buy it myself. Originally, Sagami Ham built a factory in Chitose City, and they named it Chitose Ham to make it more familiar to the local area. There is a log house-style prefab building in a corner of the parking space near the factory entrance, where they are selling their products. I highly recommend their outlet bacon and sausages. The bacon comes in sliced and block form, with the sliced version priced at 500 yen for 417 grams. The sausages are 200 yen for 250 grams. Please check their website for their business days and other information before visiting. It may be a bit difficult to find the place at first, so be careful when driving as it is located in an industrial park. I revisited on another day, and they were selling corn and cheese sausages in a pack of 3 for 600 yen. They also have a website where you can find more information: http://chitoseham.web.fc2.com/tyokubaiten.html

Located just before the intersection with the road leading into Chitose city, on Route 36 from Sapporo towards Chitose, you will find a former site of "Hokkaido Sagami Ham" in the industrial park of Kamichoto, Chitose city. This is where "Chitose Ham," a company established in 2009, is now located. The direct sales store "Campanula" is located within the factory premises. They offer a wide variety of processed meat products such as ham, sausages, and wieners, as well as frozen foods, including regular and outlet items. The outlet items are slightly imperfect products, but still of high quality and available at almost half the price. It's a great place to find ingredients for bento boxes or appetizers at a bargain, making it a popular choice among mothers.

I revisited the Kirin Beer Factory in April, following my first visit. I have been returning for visits since I first stopped by looking for interesting shops in the area. Among the various items I purchased this time, my favorites are as follows:
- Bacon (outlet): Not suitable for eating like a steak, but perfect for chopping up as an ingredient for soup, etc. It has a mild saltiness and a rich flavor from the fat, so I use it in soups and stir-fries. Sprinkling it on toast with cheese and toasting it increases the volume of my breakfast significantly, and it has become a favorite.
- Various sausages (outlet): There are various types like chorizo and herb-infused, but I like to simply boil them or bake them in the oven at around 160°C until the skin browns slightly. They are great even without mustard or ketchup. I love consuming them quickly while sipping beer.
- Smoked liver: Other smoked livers often have a slightly soft texture and seem to be injected with some kind of essence or juice, but this smoked liver is firm and hard. It can be enjoyed as is for its intense flavor, but when heated in the fat from frying bacon to add a sear, the umami is significantly enhanced. This pairs well with aged awamori, whisky around 50% ABV, or unprocessed shochu, and I was surprised at how happy it made me. Thank you for the delicious meal once again!

This shop is surrounded by factories so it may be a bit hard to find, but if you put it in your navigation, you'll get there just fine. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs for people returning from Chitose Airport. They have sets for 1000 yen that come with a variety of items, so it's a good deal. No one would be unhappy to receive them. When I visited, there were a lot of locals there. You can also try some samples before deciding what to buy. Personally, I thought the bacon chunks were a good deal. They also have a variety of sausages to try, which I think would be fun to compare.
