Today, the children are staying at their mom's parents' house. For the first time in a while, mom and I decided to go to "Ajino Tokeidai Takikawa Store" together. I ordered soy sauce tonkotsu ramen and crab fried rice, while mom got miso ramen with extra spicy habanero topping and a Chinese rice bowl. Last time we came, they had habanero ramen, but now it's just a habanero topping. After a short wait, our food started arriving. The soy sauce tonkotsu was decent, nothing special, and the fried rice was about a 65 out of 100. Mom, who loves spicy food, struggled a bit with the habanero topping. It was more straight-up spicy than flavorful. In the end, she gave up and I ended up eating a quarter of the Chinese rice bowl. Preferences change with age, it seems... (bow)
Today, our family went to "Ajino Tokeidai Takikawa Store." This is a pretty big chain in Hokkaido. You can even find it at Haneda Airport, and personally, I've eaten at their store in Okayama Prefecture. The restaurant isn't very large, with about 3 tatami tables, 7 regular tables, and counter seats. We usually sit at the tatami tables, but today we chose a regular table. After looking at the menu, I ordered soy sauce tonkotsu ramen, mom got the super spicy habanero ramen, the older sister got salt tonkotsu ramen in a large portion, and we also ordered fried rice and a Chinese rice bowl for everyone. The younger sister and the youngest are staying at grandma's house tonight, so they're not here. There was a student special going on, so we got a free upgrade to a large portion. After a short wait, our food arrived. The super spicy habanero ramen was mom's favorite, while the soy sauce tonkotsu and salt tonkotsu were as delicious as always. The fried rice is a must-order for me, but I would rate it around 65 out of 100. The Chinese rice bowl tastes great with plenty of vinegar. Alright, next time let's go to the Ajino Tokeidai in Fukagawa!
