When I was living in Muroran, I had been to this izakaya for banquets a few times. At that time, I was drinking so much during the banquets that I didn't have time to savor the food. I had the impression that it was delicious, but I wanted to taste it slowly. "Want to go?" My wife suggested, so we set off on our first camping trip of the year in our Hiace van! With an electric blanket, we could get through the night comfortably during this season. Tonight, we stayed at "Mitaru Muroran" (Michi-no-Eki). The parking lot has been expanded and is now more user-friendly. At the counter, lively conversations were taking place. We were guided to a seat in the back. It had a partition, giving it a private room-like atmosphere. I ordered a draft beer for starters, while my wife chose oolong tea as she had to drive to the Michi-no-Eki. The appetizer... my favorite "tsubu" was served! I need to eat about 20 of these to be satisfied (laughs). Today's super value platter included two pieces each of squid, tuna, scallop, sweet shrimp, and salmon sashimi. Fresh and delicious! The scallop, in particular, was sweet. The "super value platter" was a bit pricey at 1,100 yen though. The whey pork skewers used onions instead of leeks, making it reminiscent of the local "Muroran yakitori." The skewers were thick, soft, and delicious. The shrimp mayo had plump and tasty shrimp. My wife usually never eats udon, but she can eat "yaki udon" and "nabe yaki udon" only. The whey pork cutlet with egg was like a deconstructed cutlet skewer with egg topping. The meat was tender, flavorful, and really delicious. Whey pork is so tender and tasty! My wife ordered rice and topped it with this, eating it like a katsudon. However, it was a bit expensive. I switched from beer to highball recently. After getting pleasantly drunk, we settled the bill and moved to the Michi-no-Eki. My wife finally got to enjoy her chu-hi at the parking lot. We reflected on the delicious food. Overall, I felt a bit of a high price sense. It's a bit disappointing considering how delicious it was.

In Muroran City, Takasago-cho, there is a restaurant that serves delicious food such as deep-fried natto eggplant and deep-fried tofu in dashi broth, along with a variety of beers and Japanese sake brands. This small shop is unique in that it accepts credit cards, which is convenient for card users. The dishes are all delicious and carefully prepared, especially the grilled dishes cooked over charcoal. The shop is also recognized as a "master" by the Japanese cuisine association (there is a certificate hanging on the wall next to the cash register). The owner pays attention to the ingredients and personally selects delicious items from the market. Recommended dishes are handwritten on a whiteboard. The deep-fried tofu in dashi broth is a must-try, as it is soft and fluffy. The sauce, most likely tsuyu, is also delicious. As for the alcohol, especially the Japanese sake, they offer a selection of local brands not listed on the menu and will recommend one based on your preferences. Delicious food paired with great drinks make this restaurant a must-visit place!

We had a variety of yakitori, tachipon (only photo we took because we were so hungry and devoured everything quickly), salad, cheese-fried chicken breast, cheese sticks, chicken with yuzu pepper, eggplant and fried tofu, sesame dumplings, and more. It seemed like we had a lot of cheese dishes, haha. The kamameshi came with a timer and we were supposed to mix it when it went off. We almost forgot to mix it, but it still turned out delicious. The cheese topping was a good match! The burnt rice at the bottom was also tasty. The menu is extensive and the restaurant has a counter and a raised seating area.

It's a nice restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. The traditional exterior of the restaurant gives off a historical vibe. Being located on a corner, it's easy to spot. Inside, there is a small but charming fish tank. I've visited twice and both times the restaurant was about 70-80% full. The food overall is delicious. Among the dishes I tried, the small appetizers and deep-fried crab shell were particularly outstanding. The deep-fried crab shell is a cut above the usual frozen ones. They also offer a relatively high-end sake called Kubota Manju. While many places offer Kubota Senju, it's rare to find one that serves Kubota Manju in this area. The restaurant has around 10 counter seats and 5 four-person table seats that I could see during my visit. There may be a banquet hall as well, but it seemed more geared towards businessmen. If you have some budget flexibility, you can enjoy some great dishes here. The restaurant is located near JR Washibetsu Station, where some express trains to Sapporo stop. I like to make a quick stop here on my way back from a business trip when I have some time and money to spare.

I have visited this place several times as it is close to my home. I believe they only open at night. It is a bit on the expensive side, so it feels like a slightly upscale izakaya. The appetizers are delicious, especially the one with fresh sea urchin that was served once. The sashimi chicken was also very tasty, and the eel kabayaki was soft and delicious. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. It seems that some celebrities have also visited, as there were autographed boards on display.
