Sapporo Ten Dan. It's not a famous yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto, but a Chinese restaurant in the city. They offer cost-effective courses. The owner seems to have changed. He was a gentle owner. There were about three different options for all-you-can-drink and food courses. The gyoza is only available in the course with the most variety, so it's recommended to add it as an extra order. They accept credit cards. Smoking is allowed.

On Saturday, I had to work for 5 hours and got really hungry afterwards. I decided to go to Ten-dan for lunch, which I haven't visited in 6 years. Last time I went, I had all-you-can-drink with a friend and had a great time, but this time I just wanted a filling meal. I ordered the Zangi set with extra rice, and it arrived in about 10 minutes. The Zangi was hot and tasty, although a bit on the mild side in flavor. I added some pepper and shichimi for extra taste. The rice portion was generous, and I struggled to finish it along with the Zangi. I ended up with 2 pieces of Zangi left, which was a challenge to finish. Overall, the meal was satisfying and filling. I look forward to going back to Ten-dan for drinks with a friend after work next time. Now, I'm going to take a nap before enjoying some evening drinks. Cheers!

Today's lunch. Since I had miso two days ago and soy sauce yesterday, I think I'll go with salt today (^^;;. Now, let's think about a place near Sapporo Station where you can eat "regular salt ramen". Surprisingly, there are not many options. There are plenty of unique ramen shops, as well as shops catering to tourists. However, there are few places that offer cheap and delicious "regular" ramen. Oh, how about trying that place over there. So, I headed to a Chinese restaurant called "Tendan," which I had bookmarked beforehand. I heard that it is a shop with a reputation for being cheap and delicious. The restaurant is located at Nishi 6, Kita 5, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. It is on the basement floor of the 2nd Daido Building. Walk straight north from in front of the "Spicy Ramen 14 Sapporo Minami Exit" and you will find a building on the north side of the Mitsui Garden Hotel. Go down the stairs to the underground dining area. There are izakayas, Chinese restaurants, and supper snack bars, creating a relaxing space for salarymen (*'▽'*). Now, I entered the restaurant. There were three staff members: an elderly male owner, a woman, and a young man. Perhaps they are family? I was curious about the chicken cutlet curry and the Zhajiangmian for lunch, but I decided to order the "salt ramen" for 650 yen as planned. While waiting, I heard the sound of ingredients being stir-fried in the kitchen in the background, and I leisurely watched TV. The TV was full of news about the spread of coronavirus cases. I'm starting to get used to this kind of news. The ramen was served in about 6 minutes. The noodle bowl with a high rim contained a beautiful clear soup with a golden hue. So, let's dig in♪ First, the soup. Oh, it's delicious (*^o^*)/ It's a clear soup made with pork bones and chicken bones. The fragrant oil is also savory, and it has the unique taste of a Chinese-style soup. The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles. They have a chewy and slippery texture, and the unique slurping sensation is enjoyable. They have a good firmness like udon noodles and are delicious. They are provided by Morizumi Seimen. The toppings are simple, consisting of small slices of char siu, green onions, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. The char siu is a small piece of roasted pork loin, but it is quite delicious with a certain thickness. Well then, once again, I finished every last drop of the soup and noodles, delicious (*´∀`*) Finished eating and drinking again. This "refreshing ramen that salarymen will love" is truly satisfying in terms of taste and cost performance. It's just a regular ramen, but it's delicious. Next time, I want to try the "gomoku ramen". I'm also interested in the set menu. It's a shop that serves as a model for office district Chinese restaurants. Well, since I've had miso, soy sauce, and salt ramen, maybe I'll have spicy miso ramen tomorrow (^^) At any rate, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal♬ *108th bowl in 2021 (visited on August 19, 2021)

Sapporo Station area. It's dinner time. I decided to stop by for ramen before dinner. There are two customers ahead of me and one customer for takeout. They seem to be regulars from the neighborhood. The ramen for the customers ahead is taking quite a while to be ready. There is only an old man working, and he is quite slow. He must be over 75 years old, but still going strong! Actually, he seems to be 77 years old. I'll wait patiently. Looking at the ashtrays, about half of the seats are for smoking, so I thought it was divided, but then the customer next to me started smoking in a non-smoking area, so it's all smoking. I ordered the Salt Ramen for 650 yen including tax. The ramen arrived after a 25-minute wait. The soup had very little oil floating on top. It was hot and simple, yet quite salty and delicious! The ramen had a good balance. The noodles were springy and chewy. The small chashu was tender and tasty. The bean sprouts were crunchy and added a nice balance. The bamboo shoots were properly salted. Overall, not bad! It may not be recommended for those who don't like salty flavors, but for those who do, it's a good ramen. I couldn't finish it all due to the saltiness, but it was still enjoyable. Thank you for the meal. 2021 Ramen Review #95.

It was unexpectedly enjoyable. I entered a building's basement floor where I wouldn't normally go by chance. It was a shop I had been eyeing for a while. They had a cheap all-you-can-drink course and apparently inexpensive lunch as well. There were various menus displayed in front of the shop. I took a seat and noticed that the place was small with no counter. I was the only one there so I sat at a table. There didn't seem to be a menu available, at least at my table. It was busy so I couldn't ask the staff. I ordered the daily lunch special A, which was ramen with small rice, fried squid, eggplant, and green pepper. The price was only 550 yen. I ordered the ramen with soy sauce. I was both excited and nervous due to the low price. The ramen that was served was a normal bowl with small slices of chashu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The soup, with a layer of oil on top, was hot and tasty with a hint of garlic. The fried squid was extremely small, almost comical. It was so tiny that I couldn't tell what it was at first. It was served without any sauce so I had it with soy sauce. Despite the low price, I was satisfied with the meal. I had a great time at this shop and will definitely visit again. Maybe next time I'll try the daily special again?

Today is Monday, so I have the day off. I work on weekends and holidays, so it's okay to start the week with a can of chu-hi in the morning (laughs). After washing my face and taking out the trash, I'll have a drink. I was watching J-pop metal on YouTube and realized it was already late to go out. So, I decided to go to a restaurant that I had been wanting to visit. It opens at 11:30 am, mainly for nearby office workers. If I had lunch here on a regular day, I wouldn't make it in time for work. It's located near Sapporo Station, across from the JR 55 Building's multistory parking lot. The building where this restaurant is located is about 40 years old, right? Going underground, it's full of Showa-era vibes. The lanterns in front of the building that say "Underground Food and Drink Alley" give off a slightly sketchy vibe (laughs). Descending the somewhat sketchy stairs to the basement, I arrived at the restaurant. As soon as I entered, I couldn't believe that it was the basement of an office building near Sapporo Station (right?). Anyway, I took a seat at the counter, or what looks like a counter (laughs). Well, it's not really a counter, it's individual table seats. Maybe it's in line with the current world situation? I checked the menu and decided to go with the "Miso, Shoyu, Salt, Old School + Fried Rice for 600 yen" that was written all over the place. I ordered the "Old School and Fried Rice" dish. When I arrived, there were no other customers, but soon more and more customers started coming in. It's still before 12 p.m. (laughs). After a short wait, the dish arrived. It's a typical half-sized fried rice, but not served in a jar like at the Polytechnic Center (abbreviated). The colors are lighter than there, though. The ramen toppings include seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, small slices of pork, fish cake, and seaweed. The medium-thin noodles are slightly soft with a subtle curl. The soup is mainly chicken broth and... it's not bad (laughs). It's a shame... the soup is to my liking... I love hot soup until the end. I should try something else next time (laughs). Good meal.

I went to Tendan, a Chinese restaurant near Sapporo Station, for lunch. They offer ramen with a choice of miso, soy sauce, or salt, with fried rice for 600 yen including tax. I chose salt flavor and it was delicious with a rich broth. At the checkout, I drew a lottery and got 100 yen off, but some people got 400 yen off depending on the draw.笑

Today, I tried out this new place for some exploration. It seems pretty impressive. It's a casual Chinese restaurant that I haven't heard of in a while (laughs). They offer a straightforward menu and pricing during lunchtime. Today, I had a ramen and fried rice set for 600 yen. Can you believe you can eat this cheap nowadays? The ramen was miso flavor with slightly less noodles, but it came with a small portion of chashu, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts, so the taste was acceptable for this price. The fried rice portion was even smaller than half a serving, with ground meat, chashu, corn (?), not particularly amazing, but at 600 yen, everything is forgiven. And they even accept cashless payments with a 5% cashback offer. Can you believe it? I'll definitely go back again (laughs).

After 8pm, I entered a 90-minute all-you-can-drink + 6 dish set for 1700 yen. This building's basement has a lot of affordable shops. In this restaurant, they bring you the first drink but for the second one onwards, it's self-service. It's better to sit near the drink corner for the all-you-can-drink. The dishes come out at the perfect intervals. The mapo tofu is a bit sweet, so I added some chili oil for extra flavor. The stir-fried bean sprouts are delicious with a salty taste. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy. The yakisoba is topped with sauce, which is also a favorite taste of mine. We finished with some dumplings. Thank you for today. I hope this kind of restaurant, which is a friend to the common people, continues for a long time.

I visited this restaurant for lunch at the recommendation of an acquaintance! The lunch menu includes Char Siu Ramen for A, Half Char Siu Ramen with rice and fried egg for B. And the price is only 600 yen!! It feels like a blast from the past with such pricing! The Char Siu Ramen is usually 800 yen, but for some reason, it's only 600 yen during lunchtime. The amount you get for 600 yen is amazing! Additionally, there is a discount through a lottery draw at the checkout. The focus seems to be on the affordability, but the taste is also delicious. The garlic-flavored sauce over the noodles is excellent! The seasoning might be a bit strong though. The staff, especially the older lady, is also very friendly! I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

After taking a short trip on the Gakuentoshi Line, we decided to have a drink at Sapporo Station and my friend recommended a place called "Tendan" located in the Doori Building basement. I was surprised to see the menu offering 6 dishes with all-you-can-drink (60 minutes) for 2,350 yen. They even serve beer, which is amazing. Since we are all drinkers, we opted for the 90-minute option for 2,700 yen. As we were enjoying the appetizer of char siu and menma, the owner brought us some tuna sashimi saying "Have some of this too, it's from a regular customer." The food was classic Chinese cuisine, which I really enjoy. The mapo tofu had a gentle spiciness, the vegetable stir-fry was crunchy with a nice touch of pepper, the zangi had a crispy coating and tender meat, and the gyoza had a generous filling with a chewy skin. The variety of drinks was impressive, and before we knew it, the 90 minutes were up. The portion sizes were generous and the price was really good for what we got. The restaurant is cozy with narrow seating arrangements, but it adds to the atmosphere. Since the food is prepared by one person, it may take a bit longer, so it's best to be patient and enjoy your drinks while waiting.

On 19/05/21, a group of 5 colleagues gathered for a drinking party. We had been concerned about this for a while, my close colleagues and I. This time, we chose a 6-dish, 120-minute all-you-can-drink course for 2000 yen per person. We were all a bit skeptical about whether we would really be satisfied. We entered the restaurant at 17:40 and started with a toast of draft beer and oolong tea. The owner himself served the first dish, char siu and menma. I added a bit of mustard to the char siu and took a bite. It was delicious. "This pickled ginger goes well with beer." My close colleagues seemed satisfied too. The beer was empty in no time. "Excuse me, can we have another round of beer?" "From the second round, it's self-service." Following the owner's words, my clumsy junior and I headed to the beer tap. This is where individual skills really show. My clumsy junior did a great job! I, on the other hand, was terrible... (tears). "Did you work at a beer hall before?" "I worked at a gas station." "It's the same principle." I see. The second dish, mapo tofu, had just the right amount of spiciness. The third dish, stir-fried vegetables, was full of volume. The saltiness and chive flavor went well with the beer. "I've added a little extra for you." Thank you, owner. Both plates were empty. My clumsy junior's craftsmanship shone, and the drinks kept flowing. I was starting to feel quite full. Just then, salted zangi and grilled dumplings arrived! Even though we had eaten so much, we couldn't stop eating. "The zangi and dumplings are great too." The newlywed junior was enjoying them with oolong tea in hand. "Oh, here comes the ankake yakisoba." The junior with many wounds was surprised. Can everyone still eat? We left at 19:54. In the end, we finished all the dishes. My clumsy junior, are you going to Yamazakiya on the way back? "No, I can't eat anymore." It was a satisfying experience at a good downtown Chinese restaurant. Now I'm curious about the regular menu. Next time, I'll go for fried rice and beer!

The cost performance is amazing at "Tendan" in October 2018. I brought along my stylish coworkers who love Italian food and want to have a fun night out. They were so excited and taking pictures of everything with their phones. We ordered the usual course after 8 pm, which included Char Siu Ramen, Mapo Tofu, Stir-fried Vegetables, Gyoza, Karaage, and Ankake Yakisoba. All of this plus 90 minutes of all-you-can-drink for only 1500 yen! You can have any drink except for a 1-liter bottle. You can refill your beer yourself, and I switched from beer to Oolong Highball to white wine. The staff even gave me a whole bottle of white wine when they saw I was enjoying it so much. The casual atmosphere was just what I needed. The stylish girls were thrilled with the bill of only 1500 yen each. It was a great meal. Thank you!

Met up with my best friend from Tomakomai and went out for drinks in Sapporo after a long time! I chose the super affordable Chinese restaurant called Tendan. The 6-dish course is 2200 yen and the 8-dish course is 2500 yen, both with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option. The low prices were very appealing! With the dishes being so cheap at 2500 yen, it felt like the all-you-can-drink was free? The dishes included roasted pork & bamboo shoots, stir-fried vegetables, mapo tofu, dumplings, shumai, spring rolls, fried chicken, and yakisoba with sauce. The middle-aged owner and his wife were the only ones running the place, but despite it being busy, the dishes came out one after another at a good pace, and we left very full! Can you believe you can get such good food at such a low price? Thank you for the meal!
