When it comes to Noboribetsu, there are bear ranches, hot springs, Marine Parks, and the Date Jidaimura historical village. I personally highly recommend the Date Jidaimura! Even in this tough time of COVID-19, they are energetically operating. Before staying at the hot springs for one night, I take my children here to have a fun morning, and we have lunch here in the village. I was torn, but I had the Mitsukuni Ramen, which is basically dried fish soy sauce. It's listed in both Yen and Ryo, but you can use Yen normally, and you can also use cards or electronic money. In the past, there used to be a fun exchange between the staff and customers like "Is this much Ryo okay?" "Can I pay in Yen?" "I'll exchange it for Ryo later, so it's okay!" when ordering. Now, they call out your number and you go pick up your order. The seaweed has a cat's face! So cute! The taste is also quite delicious. Isn't the level quite high for a theme park? We had a fun time, our stomachs were satisfied, and then we headed to the hot springs. Thank you for the meal! Hang in there and keep fighting against COVID-19!

First of all, I will share my impressions of the Date Jidaimura in Noboribetsu City. Please skip to the next section for the food review. It was the last day of the 4-day weekend, a rare Sunday off. My nephew and I decided to visit the Date Jidaimura for the first time. The entrance fee for adults is 2,900 ryos, which seemed expensive. I managed to use a 600 ryos coupon from a certain R company and applied my 500 points to pay only 1,500 ryos. Children's admission was 1,600 ryos, but I used the JCB Club Off Service to get it for 1,400 ryos. When we arrived, we were charged 500 ryos for parking by the parking attendant. It would have been nice if they called it a toll fee instead of a parking fee, considering the Edo period theme. We parked our car in the spacious parking lot and proceeded to the reception. Since I had prepaid with Jalan, I just had to provide my name and show my JCB Club Off (Lilok Club) coupon to pay 1,400 ryos and receive a "pass ticket." This pass ticket was required for entry and to watch the shows. We presented our pass ticket at the main gate, where a ninja sprayed our hands with disinfectant, and we were ready to slip back in time to the Edo period. I was amazed by the town's layout, which was built 30 years ago. The village had a beautiful atmosphere, and it truly felt like we had traveled back to the Edo period. We arrived at around 9:20 am and decided to watch the show and try the new mystery-solving game called "Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura Ninpocho - Osaka Summer Campaign Extraordinary Story." We paid 500 ryos at the mystery-solving reception and received a scroll with clues. We wanted to challenge the Black Office, limited to 25 people per day, but the staff advised us that it was very difficult, so we opted for the other mystery-solving game. We then headed to the ninja show at the Kasumi Yashiki. The 20-minute indoor show was captivating, with the ninjas descending from the ceiling on ropes. The show was engaging for both adults and children. After the show, we tried our hand at solving the mystery, which turned out to be more challenging than we expected. We sought hints from the village staff and enjoyed the puzzle-solving experience with my nephew. The Black Office mystery must be really tough! After completing the mystery, we had lunch at a restaurant in the village. (The food review will be shared in the next section.) We also tried archery, which turned out to be more difficult than we thought. It was a fun and enjoyable experience overall.

The naming is great, Kōtoku Ramen! It is said that this ramen was a favorite food of Mito Kōmon when he visited, but is that true?! However, the concept is wonderful being located within the historical village! They also have a spicy ramen called Enma Ramen. Since it's a food stall in the mall, my expectations weren't high, but I found the taste to be decent for tourists! I highly recommend trying the Ninja Fried Rice. I want people to try it and share their thoughts because I don't know what's in it, so I really want them to be brave and order it!

This is a ramen shop located in the Date Jidaimura. The staff had a lively Edo-style vibe. The prices for ramen were listed in "ryo" (old Japanese currency). They pay attention to every detail, creating a unique world view at the Date Jidaimura. The highlight was the playful seaweed. We enjoyed our ramen while having fun. Thank you for the meal.

Ordered the tantanmen without soup. It was very spicy and delicious, but overall just average. I guess that's to be expected for food inside a theme park. The portion size was a bit on the smaller side.

It's Golden Week, so I took my son to his favorite historical village. However, it rained on the day of our visit. I thought the fun would be cut in half since outdoor events couldn't be held, but surprisingly we still had a good time. For lunch, we had limited options of soba, curry, or ramen at one of the few eateries. My son chose ramen, so we went to "Beijing Tei". It was crowded, but we were lucky to find an available table without waiting. We ordered our ramen by purchasing meal tickets: my sons had "Shoyu Ramen" for 850 yen each, I had "Tsukemen" for 850 yen, and I ordered the "Enma Ramen" for 850 yen. Many people seemed to order the set meals. The ramen didn't have any standout features besides the seaweed with a cat face. The "Enma Ramen" didn't turn out to be as spicy as expected from its name, making it suitable even for those who don't like extremely spicy food. We are used to having ramen in a competitive ramen district, so our evaluation may be harsh, but for theme park ramen... well, it was decent. Surprisingly, there were many foreign customers.

Date Jidai Mura in Noboribetsu. Parking fee 500 yen. Admission fee for adults 2,900 yen. It's been about 10 years since I last visited. The theme park faithfully reproduces the historical era, but it feels somewhat half-hearted. Expensive! The exhibits have not been updated and feel outdated, like 25 years old. Many foreigners. Oh, I should have had lunch after leaving the village. I should have just endured it. I ordered soup-less tantanmen. It's reasonably spicy. Nori with a Nyamagen illustration. Isn't this expensive just for that? I wonder what kind of dye they use for the white ink, it's so white. I can't seem to feel satisfied for some reason. If I had eaten the same thing at Disneyland, my impression would have been different. I watched two plays and left in a hurry. In the end, I didn't get to see Nyamagen. Nyamagen is in Nikko, not in Noboribetsu! Tears start to flow, as people forget the sight of their youth.

I've always wanted to visit Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura for a long time, and I finally went there! The parking fee plus entrance fee seemed expensive to me, but I checked the website beforehand to make sure I wouldn't get lost. There were about two places to eat lunch according to the website - a soba & curry shop or a ramen shop. Of course, I chose the ramen! I was hoping for curry ramen since I'm close to Muroran, but I couldn't find it on the menu. However, I enjoyed the soy sauce ramen here before, so I went with that. The ramen was lukewarm, the chashu was small and thin, and the taste was bland. It wasn't the best soy sauce ramen I've had. The service was good though, as it is inside the park.
