Before going to the clinic, I stopped by "Tapi" for some shopping. I couldn't resist getting the "Cube Cream" that I missed out on last time. The cookie topping was crispy and delicious, while the custard cream inside was fluffy and sweet. The bottom was slightly bitter, but the middle was moist and the edges were crunchy. I also got the "Cube Chocolate" which had a lovely chocolate aroma. It was filled with chocolate cream and topped with chocolate and chocolate pieces, creating a rich chocolate flavor. I also tried the collaboration item with "Trick Illusion!" at the Hokkaido Modern Art Museum, the "Cube Dice." The white chocolate coating and the strawberry flavor were delightful, although it was a bit difficult to eat. I also purchased the "Butter Sandwich Rum Raisin" and the "Financier Sandwich Pistachio." Both were delicious, with the buttery aroma and rum raisin flavor standing out in the former, and the moist financier and pistachio butter cream in the latter. I had some difficulty opening the packaging for the Financier Sandwich, but the taste was worth it. Overall, I enjoyed the treats at Tapi and would love to try their cakes and different flavors in the future.

I wanted to have some fresh canelés as a snack, so I visited a shop that had various cute bite-sized canelés. I bought a set of 6 canelés packed in a box and also purchased 3 individual flavors. When I got home, I enjoyed the snacks: milk tea, sweet potato, sakura mochi, chocolate, matcha, strawberry, pistachio, lemon. Each one was bite-sized and delicious.

Located in the area near Sapporo Station North Exit, along Kita 8-jo Street, is a pastry shop. My wife loves canelés, so we decided to visit this shop after seeing a photo of canelés in a magazine. The shop has a cozy atmosphere, and they offer a variety of bite-sized pastries. We purchased four flavors of canelés (plain, strawberry, pistachio, rice flour) this time. All of the canelés we bought were delicious, and even though they were small in size, the prices were reasonable. There are many different types of canelés available, and my wife was very pleased, so I would recommend this shop to anyone who loves canelés.

On a certain holiday, while strolling around, I suddenly remembered a place I had not visited before and stumbled into a shop located at 5-7-5 Kita 7-jo Nishi in Kita Ward. I thought it was a canelé shop, but it turned out to be a small cake and pastry shop. The store is in the same location as the previous Agapan shop, with a deep layout and baked goods along the wall and cakes displayed in the showcase at the back. On this day, I ended up buying a bit more than I intended, as most of the cakes were small bite-sized portions. I chose the "Fruit Tart (330 yen)" for its vibrant appearance, with blueberries, strawberries, oranges, and muscat grapes on top of a custard cream base, all on a buttery, sweet and crispy tart crust. The "Hokkaido Milk (380 yen)" was recommended as the most popular, and it surprised me with its milk-flavored soft texture and dense buttery sponge layers. The "Pistachio Roll (230 yen)" had a soft and light sponge with a pistachio cream filling that could have been a bit moister. I also tried the "Canelé Plain (180 yen)" which had a slightly stronger flavor and a hint of burnt taste, reminiscent of the shop's original specialty. The "White Chocolate Bar (390 yen)" was visually appealing with white chocolate and nuts on top, but the intense white chocolate flavor made it a bit overwhelming. Lastly, the "Leaf Pie (180 yen)" had a shiny surface and a crispy pastry with a caramel-like sweetness and buttery richness. Overall, I may have underestimated the portion sizes, leading to a higher bill than expected. Thank you for the meal.

I decided to buy dinner at "Tapiyo" the next day. Normally, baked goods are eaten as snacks, but after indulging in a feast the day before, I wanted to keep dinner light. When I go to Sapporo Station alone, I make it a rule to visit at least 3 takeout shops, so fasting is not an option. This place opened in the former location of "Agepan," which I had bookmarked but never visited before it closed. It was even featured on Takatoshi Land. My purpose in visiting Tapiyo was to purchase their fresh canelés! I'm sorry if this sounds pushy, but while I'm interested in their cube croissants, cookies, and chiffon cakes, I had to stick to my budget and only ordered the fresh canelés. Here is what I got: Sweet Potato (¥200) and Pistachio (¥200). There is also a set of 6 for ¥1100, but I decided to buy individual flavors not included in the set. The texture of both canelés is unique with a chewy exterior rather than the usual crispy one, which adds a new twist to the traditional canelé. The Sweet Potato has a hint of black sesame, but I prefer the Pistachio! In a word, it's rich! The distinctive aroma of pistachio fills the air, and the slight acidity and richness when you bite into it make for a smooth mouthfeel, enhancing the enjoyment. The creamy texture and strong nutty flavor give it an adult twist, leaving a lingering taste even after finishing, making it even more delicious. For pistachio lovers, this is a must-try! However, since the shop aims for customers to try various flavors, the small size may not offer the best value for money. It might be good as a gift though. Having experienced the fresh canelés, next time I'll aim for the cube croissants! Thank you for the meal.

The small shop had a display case filled with colorful canelés, making it fun to choose. However, the canelés were quite small in size and the prices were relatively high for their size, so it may not be recommended for those looking for a more filling option.

My mother wanted to try the canelés here after seeing them on TV, so I bought them as a gift. In the showcase, there were many types of mini canelés in bite-sized portions. The freshly baked canelés at noon and 3 pm were the main attraction. They were made with fresh cream for a smooth texture. The chocolate canelé was the most delicious, with a rich chocolate flavor. The sesame canelé, available in limited quantities, was also very tasty. I vaguely remember enjoying the pistachio canelé, but the prices added up quickly when buying for the whole family. It might be difficult to revisit due to the cost, but receiving them as a gift would be greatly appreciated.

I saw it on TV and was curious about a small shop that sells canelés and chiffon cakes. The canelés were smaller than I expected. There were many varieties available, and I bought four different kinds. Since they are bite-sized, they disappeared in no time. They make great gifts, but I'm not sure if they are suitable for enjoying at home.

There is a new canelé shop next to the popular cream puff shop. They also offer chiffon cakes, soft serve ice cream, and you can pre-order Christmas cakes. A canelé costs 200 yen each, but you can save 100 yen by buying a box set for 1100 yen. Flavors include strawberry, pistachio, plain, chocolate, matcha, lemon, black sesame, and roasted green tea. Each flavor has a unique taste both on the outside and inside, and they are all delicious.

Croissant Festival Part 2: "Tapio"
I couldn't make it to the bread event at "Tapio" during the Croissant Festival, so I decided to visit the store near Sapporo Station before going to the beauty salon. When I arrived around 2 o'clock, some items were already sold out, but there were still croissants, canelés, and baked sweets available, so I bought a variety of items.
I tried the "Cube Oreo" and "Cube Chocolate" croissants. They are baked in a square shape, giving them a crunchy texture on the surface. The "Oreo" one has Oreo cream inside and on top, with a moist texture and just the right amount of sweetness. It's easy to eat when split in half. The "Chocolate" croissant has chocolate dough with chocolate cream inside and a small chocolate bar on top. The chocolate cream has a strong cocoa flavor that complements the bitter dough well.
I also bought four "Raw Canelés," including plain, pistachio, and chocolate flavors. These canelés are small, moist, and have a slightly alcoholic aroma. The "Plain" one has custard cream inside, while the "Pistachio" one has pistachio chocolate and nuts on top with pistachio cream inside. The "Chocolate" canelé has chocolate dough with chocolate and gold dust on top and chocolate cream inside. I personally liked this one the most because of its moist dough and integrated cream.
Lastly, I tried the "Caramel Apple Muffin," which was moist and had a sweet apple and salty cream cheese taste. The caramel flavor was not very prominent, but overall it was a delicious treat.
I couldn't buy the custard-filled plain cube this time, so I hope to try it next time. They also had chiffon cake and soft serve ice cream available.

Next to the East Asia Camera at Sapporo Station North Exit in October 2022, there is a popular Western confectionery shop that has a very girly and cute interior with a variety of attractive products. The colorful canelés are a must-try, with classic flavors like strawberry, pistachio, and plain, as well as seasonal limited editions like peanut. The size is quite small, perfect for a quick bite, and the texture is soft and chewy with a slightly undercooked feel, which I really like. The level of sweetness is just right. Thank you for the delicious treat! (^ω^)

Finally made it here! The exterior is cute and the interior has a deep layout with a French chic style, very cute! The canelés are popular here. They have many variations like pistachio and sesame canelés. They also offer rice flour chiffon cake, seasonal cakes like Mont Blanc and potato fromage. Both were airy, light, and delicious. I tried the canelé too, but it was so small that I couldn't really tell...haha. Thank you for the meal! ♡

It takes about 5-6 minutes to walk from Sapporo Station North Exit. This shop is popular for its fresh canelés. In addition to canelés, they also have chiffon cakes, pies, and puddings, but the fresh canelés seem to be the most popular. A set of 6 fresh canelés costs 1,100 yen, with predetermined flavors. I chose 6 different flavors for souvenirs, which cost 100 yen extra for the box. The flavors I chose were strawberry, lemon, matcha, pistachio, peanut, and rice flour. The canelés are made with cream, and each flavor has a unique filling or flavor mixed into the dough. The texture is chewy and not as crispy on the outside as regular canelés. I tried the lemon and strawberry flavors, which had a delicious sweet and sour taste. However, they are smaller than regular canelés, so the cost-performance ratio may be a bit high. The shelf life is 3 days at room temperature from the purchase date.

At a shop that seemed easy to enter because there was not much of a line, I stopped by. It was a shop specializing in canelés and chiffon cakes. Both were in small sizes. The chiffon cakes were priced from 280 yen each. They seemed like a good snack when feeling a bit hungry. They were fluffy and I couldn't stop eating them. Maybe I'll try the canelés next time. ^_^

This is a new shop that opened on the first floor of Toyo Camera House, where there used to be Agepan (fried bread). My parents, who saw it on Dosanko Wide and said they wanted to try it, so I bought all the varieties as a gift. Of course, I will also be eating them! "Yasashi Cannele" is a gluten-free rice flour cannele, and the fresh cannele comes in Plain, Strawberry, Chocolate, Lemon, Pistachio, Matcha, and a seasonal limited edition Chocomint, totaling 8 pieces. They are bite-sized and chewy. I was wondering what the difference was between fresh cannele and regular cannele, but the fresh cannele has a creamy filling like chocolate or custard in the middle, which is soft and delicious! The Danish cubes in collaboration with Shigepan looked very cute and delicious! They seem quite large and substantial. There were also chiffon cakes lined up in the adorable shop. Next time, I want to try the cubes.

When you enter the store, there are many cute canelés to choose from! I had my first experience with fresh canelés and enjoyed the various flavors. The seasonal chocolate mint canelé was delicious too! The boxed ones would make a great souvenir gift. Check out more details here ☟ Near Sapporo Station! The canelés at the fresh canelé specialty store "Tapio" are too cute ♡

I saw it on TV and drove there, but when I looked closely, I realized it was behind Sapporo Station so there was no parking. Actually, there was no cheap parking. I finally arrived, but the canelé was small. What, this is 200 yen? It turned out to be a place just for Instagrammable photos... Even after eating, there was nothing special about the canelé and the cost performance was the worst. Oh well.

On a regular day, I finished work early and met up with my partner in the city center. As soon as we met, they excitedly told me, "I heard there's a canelé shop at the north exit of the station." I already knew about it beforehand, but I pretended to be surprised and checked the address on the food review site before heading there. The shop is located inside the "Toyo Camera House" building, next to "Potapota Ichigo." It used to be the place where "Shigepan" specialized in fried bread and onigiri. When we entered, we saw a shelf on the right and a display case with various products, including small-sized canelés priced at 180-200 yen each. My partner was determined to get the "raw canelé," so we bought the 6-piece "raw canelé set @ 1,100 yen" and a seasonal flavor, maybe "mint." The set included flavors like plain, chocolate, strawberry, matcha, lemon, and pistachio, each with a cream topping on top and inside the canelé. The texture was chewy, reminiscent of "raw" dough, with a slightly crispy exterior. The flavors were distinct and well-balanced, with the strawberry canelé standing out as the most delicious. While they were tasty, the small size of the canelés made the cost-effectiveness a bit of a concern. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Urgently, my work was postponed, so I had some time and decided to have lunch and dessert. I searched for a bakery and found this place that sells fresh canelés. I was curious, so I decided to go there right away.
When I entered the shop, a female staff member greeted me politely. Apart from the fresh canelés, they also had chiffon cakes and cube-shaped cream puffs. There were several varieties of fresh canelés and chiffon cakes, making it hard to choose. This time, I bought several flavors of fresh canelés and a cube-shaped cream puff that caught my eye.
The fresh canelés (strawberry, pistachio, chocolate mint) had a crispy exterior and a chewy interior. The strawberry one had a balanced sweetness and acidity with strawberry cream inside. The pistachio had a strong pistachio flavor and aroma in the cream, which was quite different from other places. The chocolate mint, a seasonal limited edition, had a chocolate cream with a hint of mint that provided a refreshing taste.
The cube-shaped cream puff (plain) was made with croissant dough and filled with a vanilla-flavored custard cream. It had a mild sweetness and a smooth texture, complementing the buttery croissant dough. The crispy texture of the croissant dough was different from puff pastry and went well with the cream.
The fresh canelés were delicious, and I might try the chiffon cakes next time. Thank you for the meal!

I had been curious about this place since I saw it on Instagram from the time it opened! I didn't even realize that it took over the space where Agipan used to be (I didn't know when it closed). I tried the fresh canelés (freshly baked canelés, pistachio, lemon). I wasn't sure if you're supposed to re-bake fresh canelés... so I ended up just eating it as is. The outer texture is soft and squishy. There isn't much contrast in texture between the outer and inner parts, so if you like that texture, you might enjoy fresh canelés. The alcohol flavor isn't very strong, and it's quite sweet and easy to eat. The flavors (pistachio and lemon) were quite noticeable since they were mixed into the dough. The lemon had a strong acidity, making it refreshing. I felt like the pistachio flavor was a better match for canelés. The cube choux was quite large and heavy, with a firm form, but when I tried it, it tasted like a Danish pastry. It's like a denser, tighter version of Saint Marc Café's Deniburan... it's not dry or fluffy, but it does seem to have less moisture. The top acts like a lid and can be separated, but the cream is quite thick and viscous, so it's best to just take a big bite. The cream is thick and has a strong vanilla bean flavor, similar to eating a Danish coronet from a bakery. The Danish pastry portion, which makes up the majority, wasn't really to my liking, so I felt a bit unsure about it. The cookie on top was crispy and firm, which I enjoyed! They also had chiffon cake and a unique mille-feuille, so I'd like to try those next time! Oh, and I'm also curious about the caramel-free melting pudding (I want to try everything). I'm glad I was able to try them this time! Thank you, Wu-ta-san!
