This month's fifth food walk was at "Soup Curry Ouchi," where I ordered the "Koroju Soup Curry" and "Assorted 3 Types of Achar" for lunch. The main ordering method is using a QR code for self-service, but the staff is also available for assistance. The base soups offered are the original "Sarasara" and the new "Bindal" (extra 100 yen), with 10 curry options available. I chose the Koroju Soup Curry with Bindal soup, opting for a mild spiciness level of HOT4. I also added the Assorted 3 Types of Achar. Rice comes in a large portion for free, while extra soup is available for an additional charge. The Bindal soup had a nice acidity, sweetness from vegetables, and richness. The spiciness was stronger than expected but not overwhelming. The vegetables included half-cut potatoes, eggplant, bell peppers, green peppers, pumpkin, carrots, as well as onions and cabbage that blend into the soup. The round Koroju croquette had a slightly sweet and sour flavor, perfect for dipping in the soup. The Achar included radish, carrots, cucumbers with cilantro, and raisins, complementing the spicy soup well. The restaurant is located under the elevated JR Kuwazono Station East Plaza, just outside the north exit of AEON Sapporo Kuwazono store. It recently relocated from Tanukikoji in April and has a cozy interior with a warm wooden feel. Starting in July, they will also offer an evening "Wine and Snacks Ouchi" service. I used the East Plaza Parking connected under the elevated structure for parking.

Today was a half day at school so I went out for lunch. Luckily, if you order after 1pm, you get a free drink. I chose an iced coffee. I ordered the beef tendon soup curry and shared two croquettes with my friend. My friend had the tomato-based soup curry while I had the basic spicy one. I could have handled one level spicier.

Ouchi, located in the dining area under the guard at Sanko Station, is a soup curry restaurant during the day, but transforms into an Italian pub at night. We enjoyed dishes such as the pate de campagne with Hokkaido pork and Ezo deer, fresh egg mayonnaise, and tahini maton. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A soup curry restaurant located under the elevated tracks at Sanko Station. Two of us visited and ordered the regular menu item, pork belly, and this month's curry, mutton. The meat was delicious, but the vegetables, most likely from Hokkaido, also stood out. The mutton curry had long asparagus in it, which was visually appealing. We ordered the Achar (assorted appetizers) as well, which was a perfect palate cleanser. It consisted of cucumber and cilantro, carrot and raisin, and spicy radish. The interior was very clean and stylish. It seems like the atmosphere changes at night, so I would like to visit again.

I came here after visiting the Sapporo Racecourse. It's my first time here. I ordered the Half Soup Curry and Salad Set with a spice level of HOT1. The soup is half chicken curry without chicken, which is gentle on the stomach, and the salad comes with oatmeal for a satisfying feeling. The basic soup curry is good, and the bright and new interior creates a nice atmosphere.

Lunch after leaving the hospital. I visited a soup curry restaurant called "Ouchi" near JR Kuwazono Station♪ The restaurant just opened at the end of April this year, but it turns out they have been in business since December 2002 in Tanuki Koji 7-chome, so they can be considered a veteran in the soup curry business. ※Former shop in Tanuki Koji → "Curry & Rice Cafe Ouchi" It's been six months since I last had soup curry before my first hospitalization. I'm looking forward to it!! ◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎ [Soup curry with Upper Furano Pork Hamburger (light, HOT2, extra rice)] 1,580 yen Soup: Original light or Bindal (+100 yen) Spiciness: MILD to HOT4 on a 6-level scale (HOT5 or higher is also possible. HOT5 to 9 is +100 yen. 10 to 20 is +200 yen) Rice: Normal 200g or extra 250g (free) You can choose from the above options. The order arrived quickly without much waiting! Is it because it's too fast that the vegetables are firm? Especially the green peppers and bell peppers have a crunchy texture almost like raw... but that's fine! Today's main dish is the hamburger. The hamburger uses pork from Kamifurano Town, located north of Furano City, which is famous for pig farming. (I remember eating pork skirt steak seasoned with salt and pepper at a restaurant called "Anemoto" in Kamifurano Town, it was delicious♪) The hamburger is surprisingly tender and delicious♪ The slightly acidic soup is also good♪ I want to try Bindal too. ...Further digression...Further digression...Further digression...Further digression...Further digression...Further digression... Residents of Furano City and its surrounding areas often abbreviate Kamifurano Town as "Kamifu". They refer to Nakafurano Town to the south as "Nakafu" and Nankufurano Town to the south of Furano City as "Nanpu". As a further digression, Asahikawa City, a little further away, is a playground for young people from the Furano area and they refer to it as "Gawa". When heading to Asahikawa, young people say "Let's go to Gawa!". Lame! (-"-;)

I had soup curry at the old location about 20 years ago and was looking forward to the move. This time, I visited the new location solo for a light meal. I ordered white wine for 850 yen, an appetizer for 350 yen (thickly sliced octopus with paprika sauce), and freshly laid egg mayonnaise for 400 yen. The white wine portion was modest, but the appetizer and egg mayo made good snacks. I stayed for 16 minutes, but it's a nice restaurant. I paid with PayPay and envied the locals. I'd like to come back and enjoy a leisurely drink next time. Thank you for the meal.

It was really fast, like the advertising slogan of a certain beef bowl restaurant. I couldn't help but write "fast" haha. It's the usual Kuwon, I always have lunch before my check-up. Where should I go today? Oh, I remember the Chinese restaurant under the overpass has turned into a soup curry place. I'm not a big fan of soup curry, but since I'm here, I might as well give it a try. What's so special about it though? (^^;) There are two entrances, front and back. It has a stylish feel to it (laughs). I decide what to eat based on the menu board at the entrance and enter. Above, it says "No waiting, ready in 4 minutes." I order the Chicken Curry for 1300 yen. It's my first time here, so I asked for normal spiciness and rice amount. By the way, you can get a free large serving of rice. I only waited for about 1 minute? (@_@) It was brought to me immediately. I was surprised by this speed! Now, let's dig in. First, the soup. The first thing I notice is the sweetness, followed by a bit of spiciness. Next time, I might go for a spicier level. The broth isn't too strong, and the spices have a nice kick to them. The chicken pieces are not too big, they're tender enough to be broken apart with a spoon. The vegetables are cut quite large, making it a bit challenging to eat (laughs). The regular portion of rice isn't enough, so I'll go for the large serving next time. It was a delicious meal, thank you. Next time, I'll try the croquette (Corosuke)! (Probably)

I visited as the second restaurant and was surprised by the generous portion sizes of the dishes I ordered. Each menu item seemed to pair perfectly with wine, so it felt a bit lacking without it. The Zuwai crab and white bean croquettes were the most delicious dish I had today. For those who enjoy lamb or deer, this restaurant is a must-visit.

The soup curry restaurant that was located in Ouchi Tanukikoji 7-chome has moved and reopened under the elevated tracks of Kuwazon Station. The operation is managed by Mamma Creative, known for their stylish establishments like Yamaneko Bar, Mountain Man, and Nakameguro Table Tennis Lounge. The soup curry is only available for lunch, while at night, it transforms into a bar serving natural wines and various snacks, starting in July with a slight delay. I had tried the soup curry a couple of times during the Ouchi Tanukikoji days, but as a resident of Kuwazon, I was also curious about the bar at night. The location under the station's elevated tracks is perfect, with a charming exterior and the option for outdoor seating on sunny days. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, all with a hint of spice. The drink selection includes craft beers like Streetlight Brewing, unique to Kuwazon. The concept of enjoying snacks with drinks in hand is clearly conveyed, and the execution is well done. However, as a fan of soup curry, I honestly wish they also served it at night. #Kuwazon #Sapporo #Hokkaido #ThisIsHokkaido #hokkaidolove #gourmet #EnoLog

Chicken soup curry with level 1 spiciness + yuzu lassi. It seems they only operate during lunch hours. The soup has a deep flavor and is very delicious. Ordering through the touch panel was easy to understand, so even first-timers should be fine. I'm curious about the menu items with croquettes and the "Power Salad," so I definitely want to come back again.

On July 7th, evening business started at a slightly upscale bar. The menu includes dishes with deer and lamb, as well as unique combinations. The main focus seems to be pasta. The natural wine selection ranges from 850 yen. There are also craft beers available starting at 950 yen. There is a 350 yen cover charge. On this day, they served roast beef, which was delicious. It seems more like a place to enjoy small dishes while drinking rather than having a full meal. The prices are a bit high for this area, but I hope they do well.

It might be under the elevated structure of JR Sugamo Station. You order soup curry from the restaurant using a QR code from your smartphone. I ordered a soup with a thin consistency and a spice level of 4, with a small portion of rice, chicken, and vegetables. The soup had a strong flavor with a slight saltiness, but it tasted even better once the chicken was shredded to bring out its richness. The spice level was a bit lacking, but the dish was delicious with plenty of vegetables.

A soup curry restaurant that just opened last month (end of April 2023). They also offer wine and appetizers in the evening. It seems they relocated from Tanuki Koji. I haven't been to their Tanuki Koji location, but I visited them for about a month when they were temporarily operating at Marui Imai before moving here to Kuwon. I visited on a holiday at 12:45 and was able to enter smoothly as a few groups were leaving. The entrance has two entrances, and the interior has a cafe-like atmosphere with a counter and table seats. However, the BGM is Showa-era pop music, creating an interesting contrast. I ordered using the QR code system: "Chicken Soup (1300 yen)" with a thin soup (or bindal for an additional 100 yen), spiciness level 4 (free up to this point), and a free large serving of rice (250g). I also ordered the "Half Soup Curry with Rice and Power Salad Set (1400 yen)." The dishes arrived in about 5 minutes. The soup, with a texture of floating dried seaweed, was slightly acidic but had a good balance of broth and spices, which I enjoyed. The rice topped with fried onions was cooked slightly firm, which I liked. The large pieces of chicken were delicious, and the other ingredients like carrots, potatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, pumpkin, and half-cooked egg were satisfactory. As someone with a high tolerance for spiciness, I found the level of spiciness still manageable, but I think it's just right for enjoying the flavors. If it were spicier, it might throw off the overall balance. My companion ordered the Power Salad, which was healthy and satisfying. In terms of cost-performance, considering the soup curry market in Sapporo, this seems about right. Overall, I was satisfied with the well-balanced soup curry with good soup, rice, and ingredients, plus a little extra.

Pork belly stew soup curry at Kuwazon. There used to be a Chinese restaurant here, but it's gone. Oh well, I thought, but then I saw they have soup curry. It's right where the Chinese restaurant used to be. We decided to try it out. We ordered on our phones. I got the pork belly, with a light broth, spiciness level 3, and a small serving of rice. My wife got the chicken soup curry, with a spiciness level of 1. Surprisingly, our orders came out quickly. The pork belly was tender and well-cooked. The soup wasn't too spicy, but had a nice tangy flavor. My wife's chicken was also tender and delicious. Thank you for the meal. They accept PayPay.

The shop on Tanuki Koji has moved! Oh, from Tanuki Koji!? It's surprising. This seems to be the fourth soup curry shop in the Kuwan area. There is also a spice curry shop in the same building. I ordered the Keema Natto for 1300 yen. I also had a coupon for mini croquettes and juice. The spiciness level was Hot 2, and you can change the rice from 200g to 250g for free. The soup was quite generous. Even though it was Hot 2, the spiciness felt a bit lacking. Maybe it's because of the refreshing taste? But it had a lot of vegetables and was quite filling. I was surprised at how quickly the order came out. It seems they are not open for dinner yet, but I am looking forward to it.

On a certain weekday, I had bookmarked a soup curry restaurant that had apparently relocated from the city to under the elevated tracks near JR Kuoen Station for lunch. It seems that there are some preferential treatment for using the parking lot for the building tenants. The store is located in one of the eateries under the elevated tracks, was it a Chinese restaurant before? The interior has been completely renovated and consists of an L-shaped counter and table seats. Since it was newly opened, we had to wait for an available seat at the entrance. The background music playing was Japanese pops from a couple of decades ago. On this day, a new menu for the new store was added, and there was a set menu called "Half Soup Curry with Power Salad and Rice (1400 yen)" with an option to choose "Bindal (+100 yen)" for the soup. I tried to order the spiciness level through a QR code, but it didn't seem to go smoothly. Everyone seemed to get their orders after a while, about 30 minutes, mine was also ready. I took a bite... The soup tasted light at first, but I could feel the umami of the broth and the acidity of the Bindal, and the spiciness level was normal, maybe because I couldn't select it? It was at a level where a little spiciness remained. Was the timing off for the Power Salad this time? It was lukewarm, so it would have been nice if it was a bit hotter... The ingredients in the soup curry included boiled egg, deep-fried eggplant, pumpkin, carrots, bell peppers, and tender cabbage, and the rice for the set was served on a small plate, making it a healthy option. Next, the plate was filled with salad! Starting with long asparagus and lettuce, there were plenty of leafy vegetables, deep-fried lotus root, spicy yellow cauliflower with good acidity, purple cabbage, boiled chicken that made it not feel lonely, and what seemed like oatmeal, giving a unique texture similar to finely chopped natto without the stickiness. It was dressed with a balsamic vinegar-based dressing with acidity. I thought, indeed, the soup curry's soup had a consistently delicious taste. Regarding ordering from the menu, it didn't go well for me personally, but when I checked with other customers later, it seemed that I was not the only one, so I felt relieved. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a soup curry restaurant called "ouchi" which recently relocated near Tanukikoji around 11:30 am the day after their opening. The restaurant is open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with no regular closing days. The interior is clean and calm, with seating for about 20 people. The menu is available through a QR code scan on your smartphone, offering various types of soup curry with customization options for spiciness levels. I ordered the chicken soup curry with a spiciness level of 9, which was flavorful and not too overpowering. The chicken was tender, and the soup had a light, tangy taste. The portion size was generous, and additional spiciness levels could be added for a small fee. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would like to try the "natto keema" curry next time.

I sometimes get lost in the underground parking lot of Aeon Kuwanon. It may sound unbelievable, but it's true. Right next to the Aeon Kuwanon store, the Soup Curry ouchi has relocated and reopened under the Kuwanon Station viaduct. The ordering style is to choose and decide using a QR code, and I selected the half soup curry and power salad set. I chose the maximum level of spiciness, number 4, for free. The type of soup is Vindal, and it can affect your evening drinking, so I hesitated to eat a full portion alone. In such a situation, it is very grateful to have a healthy soup curry set available. On the opening day, I decided to try the Soup Curry ouchi, but it was close to 2 p.m., so the peak seemed to have calmed down. However, it seems that a little more time is needed for the operation to settle down. The soup seems to have original elements in it. It has a sweet, spicy, and sour taste with richness and umami, and it is quite delicious, but I felt that the spiciness was weak at level 4 of the free maximum spiciness. At level 4, I thought that even level 5 might not be enough spiciness. The ingredients include potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, bell peppers, half-cut boiled eggs, cabbage that is slim but slightly thicker than shredded, pumpkins, and deep-fried items. The potatoes are moist and have a sweet taste, typical of Meekin, and the finished ingredients felt good when eaten. In the half soup curry, there is no meat as an ingredient, but the chicken in the power salad complements it well. The power salad has a refreshing acidity in the dressing, which is delicious. The long asparagus has a good finish and a delicious texture. With oatmeal, it can replace rice, making it unnecessary to have rice. The crispy deep-fried lotus root, purple cabbage, cauliflower, and plenty of lettuce with a lot of vegetables to enjoy, the moist steamed chicken has a good texture and a delicious taste with a well-balanced saltiness. I would like to have a rematch with the soup curry at around level 10 spiciness and I would like to eat this power salad with plenty of vegetables again. Store information: Soup Curry ouchi, 1F Kuwanon East Plaza, 14-1-2 Kita10jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.

On the opening day, I visited the restaurant 7 minutes before it opened and there was only one person in line. Eventually, 5 more people lined up behind me. The timing was perfect! The restaurant has 7 counter seats, 4 tables for 2 people, and 2 booths for 4 people. I had trouble with the QR code reader when ordering, so I ended up being the 10th person instead of the 2nd in line. I ordered the Pork Kakuni Soup Curry for 1,300 yen with a spice level of 3. I usually don't like the watery soup, but this time it tasted good. The pork kakuni was delicious, well-cooked and not too tough. The potatoes, which I usually dislike, were actually quite sweet and tasty. Overall, the meal was satisfying and enjoyable. The counter seats were a bit high, making it a bit difficult to climb onto for someone with short legs like me.
