I revisited the restaurant and tried the pork cutlet curry (´∀｀). Today I went at 12:20, so it was a bit crowded. I bought my ticket, placed it on the tray, and waited for my order. Everyone is standing one step back from the pick-up area waiting. I also stepped back and waited. The curry was served quickly because it's curry. It was faster than the person who was waiting before me. I remember they took one cutlet with tongs from the vat, cut it on a cutting board, poured curry over it, and said, "Pork cutlet curry is ready." Oh, there was also shredded salad. My tray was small, so it was packed tightly haha. I shared a table with an older man. I put the tray on the table and went to put dressing on the salad. I sat down with a spoon and chopsticks. I started eating. Bite... Oh, this is...!! It's sweet curry haha. The menu said "Spicy Curry," but it's actually sweet (´∀｀). And the cutlet is the soft kind from frozen. It can be cut with a spoon haha. The curry was also a bit lukewarm. It's a company cafeteria, so I shouldn't complain. But I liked it, so maybe I should try all the menu items? It's my day off today. I have to go pick up my car because I got a call last night saying that the repairs were done. I tried calling the soba restaurant in Kiyosato, but no one answered. So, I checked on Tabelog and found a place that would be great for a video. I decided to go there. It's like a government office for the Okhotsk region, where you can get a passport. I remember coming here with my mom when I was in elementary school. I decided to film inside while conserving electricity, so it's a bit dark. I went upstairs because Keipon sensei recommended it. To my surprise, there's a barber shop there! And at the back, there's a cafeteria, which is quite spacious. It was 11:30 am, so there was no one there. I bought a ticket from the machine and handed it to the lady, who told me to place it on the tray. I was confused at first, but then I saw a stack of trays nearby. I took one and placed my ticket on it. Water and tea were self-service, with cups near the trays. Chopsticks, plastic forks, spoons, condiments, and mayonnaise were all placed on a table in front of the lady, so you could help yourself. After I sat down, she called out "It's ready!" MZS I started with the soup, which had a slight chicken broth flavor, like the ramen from the Showa era. It was delicious. The noodles were similar to Nishiyama's and tasted great. The chashu was very thin, almost like paper. It came with a cold boiled egg, menma, seaweed, and green onions. For 420 yen, it was more than enough. As it approached 12 pm, more and more people started coming in. It seemed like there were also regular customers. I will definitely come back! Next time, I want to try the katsu curry for 500 yen! Today I visited the "Okhotsk General Promotion Bureau". I come in and out of here frequently. I have been invited to the cafeteria once, but I hesitate to go in because I know many people due to frequent visits. Today I came here for a different reason as I was nearby. I decided to go early before it gets crowded, thinking that it wouldn't be busy before 12 o'clock. I arrived a bit earlier than the opening time, but it wasn't open yet. It opens at 11:30, so I waited in the lobby. When it finally opened, I ordered a "Salt Ramen" from the vending machine for 420 yen. The presentation was simple, served in a plastic bowl. The noodles were a bit thicker than usual and had a chewy texture. The toppings included some wakame, thin slices of pork, naruto, green onions, and a hard-boiled egg. The soup was a chicken broth with a traditional taste, possibly using some seasoning. Overall, for 420 yen, I have no complaints.
