"Sazae" is a chain with over 40 locations in Sapporo alone, offering a variety of bento boxes, side dishes, and traditional Japanese sweets like ohagi and rolled sushi. The chain is known for its reasonable prices and can be found in department stores as well as large supermarkets. In recent years, the chain has undergone restructuring and is now operated by "Shin Sazae Shokuhin," a subsidiary of Ishiya Seika. Despite past financial difficulties, the chain continues to offer delicious and affordable options, such as their popular "An Donuts" and "Tokachi Daifuku." The reviewer praises the nostalgic flavors of the An Donuts and the well-balanced texture of the Tokachi Daifuku, both of which they enjoyed during their visit to the Sazae location in the basement of the Aeon New Sapporo store.

When showing an image of "ohagi" on TV to the people of Hokkaido, they answer "Sazae". A father who loves such programs said to his eldest daughter, "I want to eat ohagi," and she replied, "What? Sazae?" Truly a Hokkaido native. I purchased it because it was available at the station building in Shin-Sapporo. Shin-Sapporo turned out to be more urban than I had imagined. However, the parking lot in front of the station is free for up to three hours. Thankful for that. In the hotel room on the 29th floor, I enjoyed eating while looking at the apartment where my daughter lives. I don't eat ohagi often, but this is "ohagi," not "Sazae." Still, it somehow felt like horse meat. Now, off to Susukino. Bon appétit!

Forgot to upload series (;´∀`) This is a visit from November 2021. "Sazae" is a place where you can enjoy Tokachi-grown azuki beans. They offer a variety of traditional Japanese sweets such as ohagi, daifuku, and odango, but what my companion secretly looks forward to is the "beko mochi"! In addition to the typical brown sugar-flavored leaf-shaped beko mochi, they also release unique variations like grass or cherry blossom flavored ones seasonally, which always prompts my companion to say, "Let's get this!" This time, they were selling "caramel beko mochi," so of course we bought it as soon as we found it. Also, the grass daifuku and sesame daifuku were delicious as always. A little surprising was the sesame daifuku, as I thought it would have sesame bean paste inside, but it turned out the rice cake had sesame in it, while the filling was smooth red bean paste. I really love the azuki bean paste at Sazae! I will definitely purchase from another branch again. Thank you, "Shinsapporo Branch"!

I visited Sazae-san, famous for its ohagi, and decided to get a takeout of their popular tempura rice ball. The tempura sauce has soaked into the rice, but the sweet flavor isn't quite to my liking. However, they offer a variety of onigiri and bento boxes at affordable prices, and the sweetness is a nice touch. Thank you for the meal! (*´ー`*)

I also like regular brown ohagi, but if I were to buy one myself, I would choose white ohagi. The reason is because the texture of the dough is chewy and I am weak to this kind of texture. The combination of sweet potato and whole bean paste is only available in the current season (autumn). I am also weak to this combination. Every year around this time, I end up buying it multiple times. The smooth sweet potato paste and the chewy whole bean paste blend together to create an incredibly delicious taste. Autumn is great, isn't it?

I often go shopping at Aeon in the morning and buy something to eat for lunch on the way back. The shop here offers delicious onigiri, Assorted Sushi, and bento boxes with tempura. They also have my favorite sweets like ohagi and dango. This time, I bought the same thing as last time, "Yuzu Inari". It is a seasonal product available from January to April. When I cut it in half, I noticed diced yuzu peel and white sesame seeds mixed in, along with green vegetable leaves. I was curious about this vegetable, so I looked it up. It's called "Hiroshima greens" and is a vegetable grown in Hiroshima prefecture. Even though it doesn't have much flavor when eaten on its own, its crunchy texture adds a nice touch without overpowering the yuzu flavor. It was interesting to discover a new vegetable. It's nice to try different types of Inari sushi like this sometimes. Next time, I want to try the "Sakura Ohagi".

After shopping at Ion, I always pass by this shop on my way to the elevator that leads to the rooftop parking lot. No matter what, my eyes are always drawn to the onigiri and oyaki here (laughs). It's Sazae, Ion Shin-Sapporo Store. Items purchased: Tanuki Red Ginger (162 yen) and Yuzu Inari (91 yen). Tanuki Red Ginger (the name of the onigiri) is something I have bought so many times that I've lost count. I haven't posted about it every time I buy it because that would be too much, but I've probably eaten it at least 10 times (laughs). It's rich and flavorful, and for some reason, instead of getting tired of it, it has become addictive. The soy sauce-flavored rice mixed with tempura crumbs, red ginger, and seaweed is just perfect. Enjoying this while slurping warm udon at home makes me feel happy. The combination of udon and this tempura onigiri is unbeatable. It's way more delicious than eating out, even though it's a bit oily (laughs). Yuzu Inari is a new item starting this month. I love inari sushi and often make it myself or buy it. But this is my first time trying yuzu inari. As soon as I took a bite, the scent of yuzu filled my mouth. The refreshing fragrance of yuzu contrasts nicely with the sweetness of the rice. The balance is just right and it's delicious. This is definitely something I'll buy again. For yuzu lovers, this is a must-try (*´艸`*). Each pack contains four pieces, but the fact that you can buy just one is convenient. It's great for when you want to try it out or when you don't need a lot. The price is also reasonable, even when buying just one piece. I'll definitely be back soon. Thank you for the meal!

There are several types of bento boxes that are neither good nor bad. In addition to onigiri and norimaki, there are also makunouchi-style bento boxes. The vinegar rice in the sazae bento is not too strong, so even people who don't like vinegar rice can enjoy the taste. I personally like a bit more vinegar, but it's still good. The sazae bento has a similar image to oyaki or manju, but the bento itself is not bad. I have tried the mixed rice bento a few times, and it is delicious. Plus, you can earn purple ion card points.

Recently, I have been using ◆Sazae Food Aeon Shin-Sapporo Store◆ quite often. After shopping at Aeon, as I was about to pass by this store, I noticed an advertisement for "Chestnut Cream" ( ゚∀゚)!! Chestnut Cream is actually a type of Sazae's oyaki. In addition to the regular oyaki with sweet bean paste, custard cream, and soy milk cream, there are also limited-time cream flavors, and it seems that Chestnut Cream has been available for sale starting this week☆ As someone who loves Chestnut Cream the most among the limited-time cream flavors I have tried in the past - Chestnut Cream, Pumpkin Cream, Sweet Potato Cream, Chocolate Cream, Strawberry Cream - I was like, "I've been waiting for this~" The fact that it is called "Chestnut Cream" instead of "Chestnut Cream" is also very nice and traditional Japanese (^^) ◆・◆・◆・◆・◆・◆・◆・◆・◆・◆ White Oyaki / 118 yen x 2 pieces I like white oyaki, but there is also the regular brown oyaki with chestnut cream. I warmed it up a bit because I don't like cold oyaki. The chewy texture of the white dough is irresistible. It's not just chewy, it's also a bit doughy^^ The chestnut cream has a nice aroma and I still love the taste. The cream is not as runny as custard cream, it has a "sticky" and "thick" mouthfeel. It's a joy to eat it mouthful by mouthful and it makes me happy (*´艸`*) I will visit again soon. Thank you for the meal♪

I decided to stop by the ion on my way back and thought about buying some onigiri or bread. Then I remembered this shop: Sazae Ion Shin-Sapporo store. I wanted to eat that onigiri I had before, the Tanuki Red Ginger (162 yen). When I opened the pack at home, the smell of seaweed was so nice. Sazae's onigiri always have the seaweed sticking perfectly to the rice, which makes it delicious. When you eat it, it tastes a bit like takoyaki. Maybe because the ingredients are similar to takoyaki (tempura scraps, red pickled ginger, and seaweed mixed into the rice). I like the rich flavor, it's really delicious. And as expected, it's oily, so it sticks to your fingers. It seems high in calories. As the beloved reviewer SR4003HT6 mentioned before, "the things that are bad for you are the most delicious." I totally agree with that (laughs). The things that are bad for you or make you gain weight are the most delicious and make you feel happy. Anyway, this taste is really addictive. I had it with a warm udon, and it was better than eating out. It's sad that it's only available until January. I'll buy it again before it's gone. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by the Sazae Food store at AEON Shin-Sapporo after shopping. Lately, I've only been buying onigiri from Sengokuya, but I felt like having some shrimp tempura rice balls, so I decided to stop by Sazae. Here's what I bought:
- Shrimp tempura rice balls x2 for 199 yen each
- Inari sushi for 70 yen
- Tanuki red pickled ginger for 162 yen
It's been about 3-4 years since I last bought shrimp tempura rice balls from Sazae inside AEON Ebetsu, so this was my first time buying them at the Shin-Sapporo store. When I tried them, I found the overall flavor to be a bit bland, and I thought, "Was it always like this?" I used to like the sweet and salty taste, but this time, I only had a couple of bites before stopping because I didn't want to consume too many calories. It would be nice if the rice balls were a bit softer.
Next, my companion tried the inari sushi and said, "Yeah, it's delicious" (a very average reaction). Lastly, the tanuki red pickled ginger. "Tanuki" refers to the tempura bits. At home, we often mix tempura bits with noodle soup base and make rice balls, so I knew this would be a tasty choice. As expected, it was delicious. The combination of tempura bits, red pickled ginger, and seaweed made the rice balls visually appealing. The texture of the red pickled ginger was also great. It's quite oily, but we like that. It's recommended for those who enjoy rich flavors.
By the way, this "tanuki red pickled ginger" is a limited-time product available from November 2018 to January 2019. I will definitely buy it again during this period. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

"Sazae Shokuhin is located on the basement floor of the New Sapporo Aeon Mall, opened in August 2017. They offer onigiri, rolled sushi, Japanese sweets, and more, and have outlets in various places such as supermarkets and department stores in the city. This time, I purchased the Salad Futomaki. The ingredients such as crab sticks, lettuce, cucumber, tamagoyaki, and tuna were lightly rolled with delicious rice that was not too tightly packed. The seaweed was shiny and flavorful. It was a satisfying futomaki. Thank you for the meal. ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ."

This particular store is conveniently located in AEON Shin Sapporo store B1F. While the food is simple and unremarkable, it still provides a satisfying experience. I frequent Sazae often, and I will likely visit again in the future.

It had been a long time since I visited Sapporo... I was alone but I quite enjoyed it. And today I am going back. Before heading home, I will stop by the task that was "Katepuri." It's a bit of an illogical journey to say "stop by," but I should have just parked in the Katepuri parking lot. I parked far away and walked. And I ended up circling around quite a bit. I found a turban shell, so I am continuing my support tour. Just bought something to show my support. And, I got an ebi tempura onigiri. This is not Katepuri, it's at "Aeon Shin Sapporo Store." The very pleasant and smiling old lady took my money and... of course, that's a joke. She took the money and had the trainee girl handle the register. She was not giving harsh instructions. She was polite... but she was making the trainee girl hurry. That was probably because she was thinking about the customers, right? The trainee girl was... working hard. She was working hard but she was slow. She was taking her time... but it was clear that she was feeling rushed. I wanted to say "Do your best!" but at least I said "Sorry for the wait!" to the old lady. The trainee girl replied in a loud voice, "It's totally fine!" That was all I could do... it wasn't meant to be sarcastic. I hope it can be a little encouragement for her... And I ate it when I got home. Well, as expected, it was delicious. The sauce was delicious... it was sweet though. It was a delicious onigiri after all. The rice of the turban shell becomes dry and crumbly after a while, though. That's about it.

Cheese and seaweed onigiri for 129 yen, sesame salmon onigiri for 118 yen. This is the Sazae in Shin-Sapporo AEON. I always buy from "Omusubi Kororin" across the street when I come to Shin-Sapporo, so this is my first visit here. They have the usual selection, but fewer onigiri varieties compared to other Sazae locations. Also, there are few staff members, so you may have to wait a bit to place your order. The cheese and seaweed onigiri has small pieces of cheese mixed throughout, adding a nice touch of saltiness. The sesame salmon onigiri is a good deal at 118 yen. The salmon is ordinary, but the generous amount of sesame seeds adds a nice aroma. Overall, Sazae is consistently delicious no matter which location you visit. Thank you for the meal.

"Takeout Famous 'Tokachi Ohagi' from Sazae Shokuhin! Founded in Hokkaido, now with over 50 years of history expanding to Tohoku and Kanto department stores and supermarkets! Originally started by the founder Tomi Nomura at Hakodate Morning Market!!! Unable to succeed in the Tokyo area, the business in Hokkaido was acquired by Ishiya Seika, becoming 'New Sazae Shokuhin.' I hope they continue to work hard in Hokkaido without taking any risky adventures in the future.
Revisited on May 4, 2015, 8:00 PM. People in general, it's Golden Week, right? I, of course, have to work (¬_¬) Finished overtime, returned to Shin-Sapporo and bought a light snack before dinner was ready! It was half price at this time period (lol) The tempura with large shrimp and chicken tempura was not greasy despite the time passed since it was made, probably because the frying oil was fresh. The sweet sauce makes the rice go down easily. For a big eater like me, one bento box is just right as a light snack before dinner (・ω・) After that, I had homemade gyoza with 3 cups of rice. By the way, everyone else gave this place a rating of 3.0 or higher, why 2.99?"

My cousin bought my mother a Sazae sushi roll, which was said to be very delicious. I decided to stop by here to buy some too. There were a few different types of sushi rolls, and I chose two of them. When I arrived at my parents' house after 11 o'clock, we ate them for lunch, but they didn't seem as impressive as they were described. Even when I tried them, my mother's sushi rolls were still more delicious, and these were just store-bought. My mother hasn't made sushi rolls for over 30 years, so maybe her taste has faded. I think my memories of her sushi rolls are what I hold onto. Her sushi rolls were so tasty, with firm rice seasoned with vinegar, sweet tamagoyaki, flavorful kanpyo, dried shiitake mushrooms, spinach, pickled red ginger, and seaweed and cucumber pickles. I don't think my mother will make sushi rolls again in her lifetime. While she may be satisfied eating store-bought sushi rolls, I don't think I will ever be satisfied.

Around 11:00 on Sunday, visited a small stand-alone shop and purchased multiple "dango skewers (mitarashi and an)" for a total of 150 yen. The food was well presented, tasty, and satisfying in portion size. There was no waiting time as it was a take-out order. The service was good and the customer base was unclear. The parking lot was easy to access as it was shared with Sun Plaza. It was easy to enter the shop alone. I would definitely visit this shop again. The "Sazae-san" dango skewers are always tempting. I usually buy oyaki or rolled items, so it had been a while since I purchased dango. The classic mitarashi and an flavors were delicious. The dango were large and priced affordably at 75 yen each. They had a chewy and soft texture, making them very tasty.

I bought an o-yaki at "Sazae" in the Daiichi underground food market at Shin-Sapporo Station. It was a discounted item, as you can see in the photo. This store offers a variety of side dishes, onigiri, and Japanese sweets, and in the evening to late afternoon, they discount the remaining items. It's relatively easy to get a good deal here. I purchased two o-yaki with coffee bean paste and soy milk cream for 207 yen (after discount), making it 100 yen each. They were cold when I bought them, but when warmed up, the texture of the dough became crispy and more enjoyable. If eaten cold, the dough is dry and not very tasty. Inside the o-yaki, there was coffee bean paste (not too bitter, just a hint of coffee flavor) and soy milk cream (despite being soy milk, it had a rich taste, which I liked). Personally, I prefer the soy milk cream on its own, but for those who don't like overly sweet treats, this could be a good choice. It was quite filling as a snack, and one was enough to satisfy my hunger. I prefer the cream or other Western-style fillings over the traditional sweet bean paste in the o-yaki here. The thick dough seems to pair well with a richer sweetness.
