TORA吉
On the second day of the trip to Hokkaido on November 14, 2008, we visited the Ginga Waterfall and Ryusei Waterfall in Sounkyo, then went to Asahiyama Zoo to see cute animals. After being healed by the adorable animals, we indulged in a strange optional lunch at Fukuyama Pass, and then enjoyed the beautiful hills and Tokachi-dake at Biei and Shinsei no Oka before arriving in Otaru in the evening. There, we had a grateful "Otaru Sushi and Taraba Crab Set" for dinner. It was a meal that didn't disappoint, considering it was included in the budget tour package. I wish we had free time for dinner in Otaru. We quickly finished our meal in silence, returned to the bus, and arrived at our accommodation for the day, Hilton Otaru. The day's itinerary was completed. My partner suggested going for a snack, so we wandered around a nearby shopping mall but found nothing. Just when we were feeling disheartened, a poster for "Hilton Patisserie" appeared in front of us. I remembered seeing special cakes on the Hilton website! We hurried to the patisserie, selected cakes from the showcase, and enjoyed them in the lounge. I chose the "Caramel Pear" cake, which had a poached pear on top and a gooey caramel center. The cream around it was subtly sweet and elegant. My partner ordered the "Strawberry Mille-Feuille," which was also mildly sweet, with delicious strawberries. The Darjeeling tea served in a pot was quite tasty, and the hot milk was scalding, causing my partner to exclaim "It's hot!" The waiter apologized for the hot milk, although my fingers were not burnt. I thought the prices might be high since it was a hotel lounge, but when I checked the bill later, it was only \1000 for the cake set. The service was polite, the snack was satisfying, and \1000 was reasonable. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, with few customers in the evening. The next morning, we had a buffet breakfast in the same place. It was a bit crowded, but the spacious table layout and the view of the yacht harbor outside made up for it. The food selection was limited, but my partner enjoyed the croissant. The staff promptly cleared the empty plates, showing attention to detail. Enjoying breakfast while looking at the yacht harbor was refreshing.
