On the way back from the university, I stopped by a bakery that I had been curious about for a long time. Located in a residential area with no other notable shops nearby, it is at the entrance of Kiyotaki Fudoson. The interior of the shop is just the right size, with a cozy eat-in area and a display table for products. The selection is not extensive, which allows for a relaxed display without feeling crowded. The customer service is surprisingly polite, not what you would expect from a shop in Muroran.
They offer various items such as British Yamagata bread, square loaf bread, melon bread, curry bread (standard and cheese), and red bean butter bread. There was also a hot dog-like bread with rolled omelet in the refrigerator. I purchased a half loaf of Yamagata bread for 225 yen and a standard curry bread for 180 yen. The Yamagata bread was fluffy with a slightly coarse texture (a recent trend?). It was not too sweet, which I liked. It was the most delicious bread I've had in Muroran so far. If the texture was finer, it would have been even better. Lately, it seems like everywhere has a coarse texture. Maybe it makes it lighter and tastier when toasted, but...
My husband enjoyed the curry bread, which was carefully heated (20 seconds in the microwave, and 2 minutes on low in the toaster oven). He was delighted, saying "The outside is crispy, and the curry inside is delicious!"
I revisited the next month. I had a cream bread for 180 yen and a pumpkin red bean bread for 180 yen to eat in, and bought a half loaf of British Yamagata bread for 225 yen, a half loaf of square loaf bread for 225 yen, and some sweets like meringue for 300 yen and another pastry for 250 yen, totaling 1360 yen. I forgot to take pictures. The cream bread and pumpkin red bean bread were just average. The square loaf bread was disappointing as it was underbaked, but the British Yamagata bread was delicious as before. The meringue was too sweet and gave me a headache! (laughs) It's a matter of personal preference. The other pastry may have been a little burnt. They have a point card and can accommodate allergies. The fact that the lady working there bakes everything herself and limits the production to what she can handle was admirable. I look forward to their future and would like to support this shop. It seems to be very popular among the locals already.

I stopped by on my way back from a trip to Muroran to visit the TSUTAYA store in Otaru. I saw this cafe near Sora Cafe and decided to stop by after lunch. You can park a few cars in front of the store after passing through the white torii gate. The overall atmosphere is stylish and seems to appeal to women. Inside the store is small, but there is an eat-in space in the back right corner. On the shelf to the right as you enter, there were various miscellaneous items like Sock Monkeys and baskets. They had a good variety of bread, and the owner kindly explained each one as I was choosing. I ordered the "Shiraoi egg meringue & hot sandwich (ham potato) & croissant (ham potato)" for a total of 690 yen. I love meringue (and it was big!), and there was a lot of it for only 250 yen! The meringue had a nice texture and was very sweet. The croissant had a hollow center filled with ham-covered potato salad. I was surprised to find a hot sandwich as well, but it was just a regular sandwich (haha). Both were very filling and delicious. It's a place I probably shouldn't go to often, but I definitely want to visit again.

There are various types of bread such as anpan, cream pan, and curry pan. I have tried several and found them to be soft overall, making them easy to eat for children and the elderly. The staff were also attentive, moving around during work but still keeping an eye on the customers, coming over to explain things. I will go back again to try a different kind of bread.

I purchased it at the Michi-no-Eki Sobetsu Information Center. I stopped by on my way back from a fruit orchard in Soubetsu Town, but the Michi-no-Eki was quite crowded! Maybe it was people returning from fruit picking? The weather was good too. I was hungry, so I found some delicious-looking bread! I have to cross a mountain pass on my way back, and there aren't many places to eat, so I'm grateful that I was able to buy some bread! The Mushroom Kingdom was also crowded. The bread for the Ham Cutlet Sandwich had pumpkin kneaded into it, giving it a slightly sweet and fluffy texture. The cutlet had a good bite to it and was delicious. The cream in the Cream Bread was not too sweet, reminding me of the cream bread I used to love from a bakery when I was a child! It has a gentle taste that is not too sweet and doesn't get boring.
