The purpose of a bakery varies depending on the individual. Some people may stop by for a quick snack if they have a little extra time, while others may look for soft breakfast bread to go with scrambled eggs and coffee, or even harder bread to enjoy with stew, cheese, or wine. "Yellow Bread" is considered a snack bread shop along the way. This time, I bought bread from this shop to have for breakfast at home. Sorry for raising the bar a bit. Because it's an old shop, I thought I could make it work with the right choices, right? The dim and gloomy shop interior is empty, as usual. This is how it always is. The old lady who used to be lively 20 years ago slowly came out, looking a bit tired now. But because she's an old lady, she doesn't seem to have aged much. The shop also looks worn out and lacks cleanliness. I remember they used to offer soft serve ice cream in the summer. In the past, you could see mothers and daughters enjoying their meals in the eat-in corner, but now there's no trace of that. To be honest, it's not a clean space suitable for handling and selling food. However, I occasionally enjoy the snacks from this shop on my way home, so I don't really mind the environment. This time, I bought Walnut France 120 yen, Curry Donut 135 yen, and Chocolate Donut 105 yen. The Walnut France for breakfast was soft and lacked chewiness, but the flavor of walnuts and wheat was rich. The Curry Donut lacked flavor, aroma, and umami. Plus, the oil seemed old. The Chocolate Donut, which I don't usually eat, was surprisingly well-made and couldn't be underestimated. The crunchy croissant-like dough with standard chocolate mixed in, baked until crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, impressed me. I was made to think that this shop has the skills to make delicious croissants. This shop, which shows no intention of renovating or improving, may lack cleanliness, but this time they had a new chocolate bread. Can't the old lady work a little longer? I occasionally buy from here, so I hope they can keep the shop running within their capabilities. I'm counting on you.
