I went there for the first time the other day. I was surprised by the thick, large slices of chashu! The chashu was delicious, but the big menma was amazing! The rich and mellow soup was incredibly tasty! I ordered miso ramen while my partner got shoyu ramen. I tried a bit of the shoyu broth and I actually preferred it! Next time, I'll go for shoyu... Ramen preferences vary, but as someone who loves rich and creamy ramen, this was perfect for me! It's been a while since I had ramen that I really liked... I also tried a mini bowl of Chinese-style chirashi, and it was quite filling. I left feeling very satisfied. I usually eat a lot, so the bill tends to add up, but this time, even though I ate a lot, it didn't seem too expensive. I will definitely be going back!

Mianan Mitabi 2022.08.06 What I can do now is to support restaurants by being extra cautious. Let's all do our best together! Today is cool so I'm thinking of having the rich and hearty men's ramen that I couldn't have yesterday. I'm heading to Mian Mitabi for the first time in a while. Location: Located on the west end of Obihiro 18th Street, next to a 2-story residential building with a dignified appearance. Inside, there are currently 4 counter seats and 2 small raised table seats. Unfortunately, they couldn't make the Chinese chirashi today. From July, Mitabi has also raised their prices. I ordered: - Mitabi Ramen Shoyu for 900 yen (tax included) - Mini Chashu Don for 400 yen (tax included) It arrived in about 7 minutes. Oh, I forgot to ask for extra noodles. The toppings included thickly sliced roasted chashu, wide menma, diagonally cut green onions, finely chopped onions, and nori. The slightly thin, medium-thick curly noodles were accompanied by chashu that was almost like braised pork, very tender and well-cooked. The soup is a thick and hearty tonkotsu broth, quite rich, but delicious. It's recommended to dilute it a bit. I'll definitely come back for the ramen. Thank you for the meal. Mianan Mitabi - Opening hours: 11:00-15:00 (Last order 14:30), 17:00-22:00 - Closed on Mondays

Last year's last ramen was from Matabi! It had been a while since I last visited! I think the Matabi shio ramen is delicious! It varies from person to person! What caught my attention was the wide menma! If it's good quality, it has a nice crispy texture, but if it's poor quality, it's hard to chew! The chashu had a round, braised pork-like texture! By the way, I think the flavor has improved since last time! There's only one place for this year's first ramen!

I avoided the crowds and visited during off-peak hours for lunch. I ordered the salt ramen with firm noodles and charred garlic oil, as well as the mini Chuka-don. The salt ramen had a rich tonkotsu broth with thin straight noodles. Toppings included diced onions, chopped green onions, seaweed, menma, and thick slices of chashu (almost like braised pork). The charred ramen had an extra kick from the charred garlic oil, no onions, but everything else was the same. Both dishes were delicious! The attention to detail in the food was evident, although the noodles seemed to have gone through a few changes before settling on the current version. The restaurant's location and aesthetics may divide opinions, but it's understandable why it's popular on various social media platforms.

I went to Mitabi-san again! This is my second time visiting. I went on a weekday afternoon. The shop is located in the old snack street in Obihiro. It looks so old-fashioned that you might doubt if it's really open, with curtains hanging outside. I entered the shop and found the interior quite dim, with the air conditioning working well. Despite the day not being too hot, the shop owner seemed to be sweating a lot. The background music was from the community radio FM Jaga. There were two customers before me and one after me. The shop owner greeted me with a faint voice. I looked at the menu and hesitated between the regular and burnt ramen, but since I tried the burnt one last time, I chose the Mitabi Ramen Shoyu for 800 yen. It was ready in about 6-7 minutes. The appearance looked rich and creamy, probably a tonkotsu shoyu base. Hmm, the soup was slightly lukewarm. Disappointing! The fat content was quite high, making me wonder about my stomach. The taste was on the salty side. The noodles were cooked just right, with low hydration and medium thickness. They were delicious. The chopped green onions and other toppings had a generous portion. The chashu was quite large, and there were two big pieces of menma. The menma was so big that I had to bite it vertically to eat it (laughs). It was impressive. I still prefer the thinly sliced menma. The shop owner was handling everything alone. The menu seemed to have decreased compared to before, and the popular Jiro-style vegetable ramen was also on hold. But there are still loyal fans out there. One of my juniors is also a fan. Thank you, Mitabi-san, for the meal!

I am alone in Obihiro and the weather is really nice. I am not here to check out restaurants on Tabelog, so I decided to have ramen in Obihiro. The ramen shop I planned to go to turned out to be closed, maybe just a regular holiday. So, I headed to the next shop, "Mitabi", but when I arrived, it looked a bit sketchy so I passed by. Eventually, I went back and entered. The place had a good vibe. I ordered the "charred salt" ramen for 800 yen, which felt a bit expensive. The ramen arrived quickly, and it seemed to have burnt oil on it. The noodles were more like the traditional style, closer to Asahikawa. I don't particularly love it, but I don't hate it either. It was a bit rough around the edges but had a unique charm. The menma was large and I ate it vertically. The char siu was thick and charred, a bit too much to finish. The chopped green onions were roughly cut, which seemed intentional. Overall, the ramen was a bit messy but had a certain boldness to it. The soup was warm and a bit greasy. It lacked strong umami and richness but was still tasty. The owner was alone and seemed a bit down. I quickly finished and left, feeling like it wasn't the best experience. It wasn't bad, but the warm soup and the roughness of the place made it hard to give a high rating. Taste: 3.5, Cost performance: 2.5, Atmosphere: 2.7. Overall, it was a bit challenging to give a high rating to this ramen shop.

This is "Men-an Mitabi" in Obihiro City. It is a ramen shop located on 18th Street, Nishi 1-jo Minami, Obihiro City. Although it is tucked away from the main street, it is a top-notch restaurant. I tried the "Mitabi Ramen" in miso flavor. The richness of the soup is top-class in Obihiro. It has a delicious taste that lingers. It is well-balanced and not too salty until the end. The flavor of the soup is harmonious without any one ingredient overpowering the others. The finely chopped green onions add a nice accent. The standout feature is the large chunk of meat, a generous serving of chashu. It is tender and melts in your mouth, with a flavorful seared surface. Additionally, there are large strips of menma with a satisfying texture. This bowl of ramen shows the effort and dedication of the owner. I highly recommend visiting this place. The fact that you can get a free extra-large serving is a great bonus.

From the app "Tabelog," I was led to a place one street west of where the restaurant was actually located, on the south side of Yakiniku Higashidaimon, where there are several small eateries lined up. When I finally arrived around 11:30, there were no other customers. I ordered the Mitate Ramen (soy sauce) for 800 yen with free upsizing option, and a mini Chinese flyer for 300 yen. The soup was a lightly emulsified pork bone soup with floating lard on top. It was similar to Sapporo miso ramen but with a soy sauce flavor, quite salty. The noodles were medium-thin, which may have been a bit too thin for the strong soup, but it's a matter of personal preference. The toppings included chashu, two strips of menma, seaweed, onion, and green onions. The soup itself didn't have much garlic or ginger but had fresh aromatic vegetables on top. The chashu was tender and lightly seared, with a crispy surface. It was a unique and delicious chashu. The menma was also large and thick, providing a crunchy texture and enjoyable bite. The mini Chinese flyer contained chashu scraps, cabbage, carrots, onions, and egg. It was vegetable-heavy but slightly watery, so a thicker stir-fry sauce would have been more suitable. The service and atmosphere were a bit disappointing, hence the harsh rating. However, I still think the chashu and menma were delicious. Note: As of February 2018, due to the high cost of vegetables, vegetable-based ramen was not available for ordering.

Today, I went to Mitabi (^-^)/ It snowed this morning and it's cold, so I warmed up with some ramen ✨ I ordered the Charred Shoyu Ramen for 800 yen with free extra noodles. I also ordered a Mini Chinese Rice Bowl for 300 yen (^^)/ It was a bit rich, but still delicious ✨ The rich tonkotsu soup with charred shoyu made the tonkotsu flavor milder ⤴️ The thick and tender chashu was great. The menma was soft and had a satisfying texture, almost like eating rice with menma ✨ As for the Chinese Rice Bowl, I ate half of it and then poured a ladle of ramen soup over it, which made it even more delicious (lol)

I was curious about Mitabi-san (^-^)/ The miso ramen is 850 yen⤴️ Wow, it looks rich with lots of pork back fat✨ The chashu, or rather pork belly✨ Let's dig in✨ As expected, it's rich with pork bone flavor⤴️ The chashu is fatty and tender⤴️ The menma is large, tender, and well-flavored⤴️ Overall, it's delicious q(^-^q) But personally, I prefer thick noodles. The miso soup might be too strong. It feels like a waste of the pork bone broth (^^;

H29.9 Revisited today with my wife. I ordered the burnt salt ramen, while my wife ordered the soy sauce ramen. Ah, it's delicious as always. Despite the rich tonkotsu and ma-yu visual, it goes down smoothly. The regular soy sauce ramen also looks delicious with a strong soy sauce aroma. The noodles have changed, right? They are now more curly and the flavor is lighter. I think the balance with the soup is good, but it may have lost a bit of punch. The toppings of green onions and onions are also delicious. I wonder how they are cut. The green onions here are the best. The sinachiku is also exquisite. Even when you put a big piece whole into your mouth, it melts without any bitterness. Even my wife, who doesn't like sinachiku, praised it. The large chunk of chashu is fatty, but it goes down smoothly. So, thanks for the delicious meal today! H29.6 Visited with the burnt soy sauce ramen (800 yen) in mind. Only one customer before us. The air conditioning is working hard, haha. It's not that hot, but I guess the kitchen must be warm. Well, we appreciate it as customers. Anyway, the visual is as expected. Half of the bowl is covered in black ma-yu, with a big chashu placed prominently in the middle. By the way, I wonder which part of the chashu this is. It's delicious. It has a lot of fat, but the meat part feels like you're really eating meat, and I like it. I started talking about the chashu unusually, haha. The soup here is a rich and thick tonkotsu. You don't feel the pork bone smell. It's easier to eat than it looks. The pork bone soup has a good soy sauce fragrance, and the ma-yu adds a savory touch. This is delicious. The noodles are low hydration noodles with less curliness. They mix well with the rich soup and taste great. The unity of the noodles and the soup is what they call it, I guess. Also, the big and hard-to-eat sinachiku. It's best to put it in your mouth whole without forcing it. Surprisingly, it's incredibly delicious. It was a bit salty, just like the miso ramen, but I liked this one better. It might depend on the eater's condition. If this suits you, I think this is a restaurant that deserves to be in the 3.5-point range.

H29.7 Revisit This time I challenged the salt ramen. Not the burnt kind, just regular salt ramen. It somehow looks cleaner than usual haha. First sip of the soup. Hmm, it's a bit salty. Maybe the soup here is always salty... But as I continued to eat, the saltiness didn't bother me at all. It's really delicious after all. The noodles felt different from the usual, or is it just my imagination?? The noodles seemed to have a firmer texture, and I felt like the edges were still there. Maybe they're cooking them a bit faster? I'm too shy to ask, haha. But, it was really delicious. The chashu and the bamboo shoots were also delicious. H29.3 Visit On a corner where an old snack bar was torn down and turned into a parking lot, there is a shop. It seems to be run by a young owner and his mother. I ordered miso ramen. The smell of pork bone and garlic hits you. The pork bone soup is thick and creamy. The amount of fat is quite substantial, but it doesn't feel overly greasy. A bit disappointing that it's a bit salty. The noodles are slightly thin curly noodles. Low hydration. Quite a generous amount of noodles haha. It goes really well with the rich, rich soup. The chashu is thick and tender, maybe seared as well? Even though I usually don't like overly tender meat, I thought this was delicious. The bamboo shoots are huge, two of them. Very delicious but hard to eat because of their size. Maybe because of the abundance of garlic and ginger, my body felt warm for a while after eating. On the flip side, it might linger in your body for a while. Overall, the seasoning is rich and rich haha, but surprisingly I was able to eat more than I thought without my chopsticks stopping. I think it would suit me better if the saltiness was toned down a bit.

Recently, I visit this ramen shop almost once a week. The owner was on sick leave for about two months at the end of last year, but since returning, the richness of the ramen has improved even more. In particular, the richness of the miso ramen is at a level that can rival the top ramen shops in Obihiro. The owner mentioned that their health is still not great after returning, but I hope they don't push themselves too hard. Thank you for always serving such delicious, rich ramen.

The chashu here is often shown with a cross-section of three layers of pork belly, but this shop cuts it along the layers, creating a two-layer structure of tender fatty and meaty layers. While some shops serve soft tip menma, this shop daringly offers firm base menma. However, the mismatch between the soup and noodles prevents the overall score from being pushed up.

Despite being in a location that is difficult to find (on the west side of Nettai Horo), when we visited around 1 o'clock, there were four groups of customers including us, indicating that it is popular. It was our first visit, so I ordered shoyu ramen and my partner ordered miso ramen. When the bowls arrived, I was immediately struck by the huge portion of menma! It was probably five times the normal amount. I took a bite and it was delicious - I've never had menma this tasty before. Next, I tried the chashu, which was incredibly tender and different from the usual braised pork. Unfortunately, I prefer lighter flavors, so I found the soup to be quite salty.

Located in a corner where run-down snack bars with a strong Showa era smell line up, slightly away from the center of Obihiro, is a ramen shop that looks like it could close down at any moment. The appearance of the shop is so shabby that you hesitate to enter. However, the ramen is quite delicious. Don't be misled by the shabbiness of the shop, and be sure to visit at least once. The chashu is overwhelming. It is thickly sliced yet incredibly tender, earning a perfect score. It's irresistible. The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles that go well with the rich, cloudy, oily soy sauce-based soup. This time, I tried both regular soy sauce and dark soy sauce, and they are completely different soups. Depending on your preference, but I personally think the regular soy sauce is far more delicious. I'm looking forward to revisiting to try the miso ramen next.

This is a shop located in a side street near the center of Obihiro City, easily accessible from the main street. The shop owner runs the place alone and while not the friendliest, you can tell they are dedicated to their craft. The ramen here is rich and creamy, with a thick tonkotsu broth that is among the best in Obihiro. The noodles are thin and white, perfectly complementing the flavorful soup. The miso ramen is a standout, with the addition of finely chopped onions adding a unique touch. The shop doesn't offer burnt garlic oil miso ramen, but the regular miso ramen is a must-try for its rich and addictive flavor. It may be too heavy for those who prefer lighter ramen, but for fans of rich and creamy broth, this place is a treat. Enjoying a bowl of their delicious ramen is always a pleasure.
