Drive-in Ten'ensho in Teisho-cho, on the Japan Sea side of Hokkaido, has a nostalgic and traditional atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of dishes like ramen, curry, rice bowls, and more. The Japan Sea Ramen I tried was decent, with a good amount of ingredients. While not outstanding, all the dishes are tasty in their own way, following the classic drive-in style. It's nice to visit a traditional drive-in like this once in a while.

I arrived at Teshio Michi-no-Eki an hour earlier than planned for lunch. I had skipped breakfast and left Sapporo, so I was starving. I found this place that opened at 10:00 and decided to give it a try. Although it was a bit pricey for a drive-in, the portion size made it worth it. I ordered the miso katsu ramen, which was delicious. The seafood miso ramen tasted a bit too fishy, but I guess that's expected with so many flavors mixed in. Overall, I think these restaurants survive because there are only a few options available in the area.

This is my third visit. It's a precious place where you can have lunch in Teshio Town. For some reason, today I feel like eating tonkatsu... but I also feel like having ramen. When I look at the menu, I find the perfect dish: Miso Katsu Ramen! I order it without hesitation. It looks appetizing. The toppings are katsu, bean sprouts, green onions, naruto, and chikuwa! The slightly rich miso soup and the katsu create a subtle harmony! It's good. I finish it in no time. Thank you for the meal.

While on the move, I had lunch. I remembered the good taste of the mini salt ramen I had last time, so this time I ordered the salt chashu ramen! The toppings included shinchiku, green onions, naruto, and a simple arrangement of chashu. The soup was light and delicious! It was a nostalgic ramen that was gentle on the stomach. I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal.

During work, I had lunch. Looking at the menu, I noticed the words "Genghis Khan" which I haven't had in a while (laughs). Genghis Khan rice bowl set (mini salt ramen) caught my eye. The deep bowl was filled with plenty of rice topped with lamb and bean sprouts, making me hungry. Personally, I wish the flavor was a bit stronger! The mini salt ramen had a good saltiness and the chashu was substantial. It was a satisfying set meal with a full stomach. Next time, I might try just the salt ramen on its own. Thank you for the meal.

I finished work in the early afternoon, so I decided to visit my usual restaurant. I've been watching a TV show called "Zekkei Meshi Road" recently and I really enjoy it. It made me wonder if my usual restaurant might also serve some amazing dishes. The restaurant is spacious and always gets close to full, with some people making reservations. Today, I decided without hesitation to try what I believe is the restaurant's specialty: the Japanese Sea Miso Ramen. The bowl was filled with a slightly spicy miso broth, topped with shrimp, squid, pork, seaweed, and vegetables. And all of this for only 1000 yen! The taste was just as delicious as always. The miso flavor was just right, not too strong or too weak. I finished every last drop. This place might be another hidden gem that could disappear, so I will definitely visit again!

When I visited Tenencho, I stopped by Drive-in Teshio for lunch. It's a pretty cool place. The parking lot is in front of the shop. I ordered the "Genghis Khan Don Set (Mini Ramen Shio)" for 1,000 yen. The Genghis Khan was a bit bland, but the Mini Ramen Shio was delicious! I should have just ordered the Ramen Shio!

I went to Drive-In Teshio, which I had been curious about for a while. Smoking is allowed inside the restaurant, and it can get quite crowded during lunchtime. The menu offers a variety of set meals and other options. I ordered the Japan Sea Ramen with soy sauce flavor for 950 yen, which was featured on TV in the past. The ramen contained shrimp, squid, pork, vegetables, and seaweed. Honestly, I was unsure what made it Japan Sea ramen, but it was very delicious. I look forward to trying other menu items on my next visit.

This is a restaurant located inside Teshio Roadside Station. They offer ramen and bento boxes made with Teshio Town's specialty clams, as well as the classic clam soup. One unique menu item they have is the Hokki clam curry. The curry flavor is quite strong, overpowering the taste of the Hokki clam, but it could make for an interesting conversation starter.

On July 17, 2012, I visited Ten'enshio for work and had lunch at this place. It seems like a drive-in that is on the verge of extinction, but surprisingly still survives in rural areas. However, it appears to be used by local people as a family restaurant. When I entered, there were two families already dining. A few more customers came in later. Now, the photo shows the Japan Sea Ramen. When I asked the older lady what kind of ramen it was, she pointed to the picture on the wall and reluctantly said it's a ramen with seafood and meat. The wall also had a sign welcoming the Self-Defense Force with a 10% discount. I briefly considered pretending to be in the Self-Defense Force, but my belly would give me away right away. The ramen had a soy sauce flavor, and the soup was...? It reminded me of the soy sauce ramen I had in Enbetsu yesterday. Is there a sweetness (artificial sweetener) in the soy sauce ramen here in this region? Or is it just my imagination? Either way, I don't dislike it! The ramen alone filled me up. Another day of happiness, thank you.

I was intrigued by the "Drive-In Teshio" featured in the March 3, 2013 issue of the Hokkaido Shimbun. I decided to try the "Nihonkai Ramen (Shio flavor)" for 950 yen. The ramen was packed with seafood ingredients and delicious, but I felt the flavor was a bit weak. I think it could be a bit saltier. My companion tried the soy sauce flavor and when I tasted the soup, I found the soy sauce flavor to be more delicious. There are various other menu items available, so I think it would be useful for when you're in Teshio on business.
