Quattro Valli Chofu @ Chofu City, Tokyo @ Hamburger, Osteria ☆ Enjoy dishes from the famous Quattro Valli that specializes in Italian cuisine and hamburgers ☆ Exceptionally delicious medium-rare hamburgers ☆ Stylish dining area ☆ This restaurant primarily features delicious Italian hamburgers and is a branch of the original Osteria Quattro Valli located in Yotsuya-sanchome. It has a rather complicated history, which can sometimes lead to confusion. Up until June 2022, the Italian restaurant Cucina e Bar Quattro Valli was located here before closing temporarily. On September 1, 2022, the black-haired wagyu hamburger restaurant Masuo from Shinjuku opened a location in Chofu and rented the space, keeping the interior as it was. However, Masuo closed at the end of 2023, and the space was returned to Quattro Valli. In connection with this, the head chef of Masuo Chofu moved to Quattro Valli and opened the current restaurant on February 18, 2024. The interior has not changed. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building just to the right of the entrance to Chofu Ginza, near the old Koshu Highway entrance on the northeast side of Keio Line Chofu Station. You enter via an outdoor staircase leading directly to the restaurant, which features halfway-high windows facing the street. The kitchen is open, and the dining area is designed in two levels, with the main floor basic and the window side raised slightly, adding a design accent. The seating consists of brown tables and a counter paired with stylish white chairs. The counter has four seats. The menu includes hamburgers, hamburger with beef stew, flank steak, and a combo of steak and hamburger, which carry over from Masuo. Additionally, there is a selection of Italian dishes from Quattro Valli, including five types of salads, a platter of prosciutto and salami, 24-month aged prosciutto, garlic sautéed green beans, French fries, liver pâté bruschetta, beef and mushroom ajillo, and a special from the blackboard, which pairs perfectly with wine. Toppings include fried eggs, cheese, beef stew, and additional hamburgers. As this was my first visit to the new store, I chose the following standard items: □ A5 Black Wagyu 180g Hamburger 1,430 yen □ Reduced size rice 220 yen. You can select the sauce from demi-glace, tomato, steak, or onion, and I opted for the demi-glace sauce. The hamburger is customarily served medium-rare. So, how was the dish? Delicious! The hamburger, side dish, and sauce were all exceptional. The rice, which was previously a concern, was also fantastic this time! The side consisted of sautéed cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. The hamburger was fluffy, with a pink, perfectly medium-rare center, and the flavor of the meat was outstanding. The rice was also fluffy and delicious. Previously, improvement was needed for the rice at Masuo, but this time it was excellent. The service was friendly and very welcoming, making it likely that I will return again. Exit the Chofu Station Central Exit, head northwest, and it takes about five minutes on foot. I heard that I can enjoy A5 Wagyu beef hamburgers at a reasonable price for lunch, so I decided to visit during my lunch crawl. The restaurant is located on the second floor, accessible via an outdoor staircase. The interior is about half full with customers. I ordered the demi-glace hamburger topped with beef stew. It comes with rice (free large size), soup, and salad for ¥1,500. When I placed my order, they mentioned, “We serve it medium-rare. If you have a preference for how you’d like it cooked…” So I requested it to be around medium, just between medium rare and well done. - **Soup**: Served in a mug, it has a slightly diluted consomme flavor, with a brownish color, indicating that something like turnip greens or daikon leaves has been simmered quite a bit and became soft (perhaps not very fresh or overcooked). - **Salad**: The vegetable salad includes broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, red onions, and various leafy greens, dressed with a carrot dressing. The carrot dressing gives it a quite light flavor. - **Rice**: Standard typical white rice served in a generous portion. - **Hamburger**: Topped with melted cheese resembling cheddar and drenched in demi-glace sauce. At the very top, there are tender pieces of beef similar to stewed meat. When I cut into the hamburger, I found it remarkably tender. The inside was a light pink, cooked to about medium, which was just right for me (too rare can sometimes resemble uncooked minced meat and can be hard to fork). As for the taste, the balance of beef flavor and meat juice was excellent. Upon entering my mouth, the sweet, milky aroma of the beef wafted through my nose. It reminded me, though in a different context, of the delightful aroma of high-quality Japanese soba noodles. This hamburger was truly a hit. The quality of A5 Wagyu beef really stood out, providing an exquisite taste without any complaints. The stewed meat on top is the sort that melts in your mouth, just like that found in stew. It breaks apart effortlessly with a knife and has no chewy texture, making it incredibly delicious. While it might sound exaggerated, it was so good I felt like my cheeks could fall off. I even thought about wanting to take home multiple servings of that tender stewed beef alone. I found the large serving of rice wasn't extraordinarily large for my appetite, but thanks to my lunch crawl, I ended the meal feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal! This was my first visit. From the outside, I couldn’t see much of the interior. (I had tried to enter before but hesitated and decided against it.) Upon opening the door, I was greeted by a fairly loud J-pop playlist, which felt a bit mismatched with the Italian theme. Maybe this choice of background music is common on days when there are many families, as it was around 2 PM on a weekend. There were several families inside. If you don't mind your surroundings, it feels comfortable enough for solo dining. The hamburgers seemed popular, but I decided to try the arrabbiata (1,430 yen) instead along with a drink set, which included an iced coffee (330 yen) and a moist chocolate gateau (440 yen). Knife and fork were set on the table, but there was no spoon. It was unclear if milk for the iced coffee must be requested separately, as it did not come automatically. The seats had deep slumps, making them quite uncomfortable—people with back pain might find it difficult. The arrabbiata had a pleasant level of spiciness, and the pasta was cooked just right. The chocolate gateau was slightly warm, perhaps because it had just cooled down from being freshly baked. The flavors of both the pasta and gateau were fine and quite good, overall. I might visit again if I lived nearby, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to take a train just to come back. I apologize for the harsh review. However, I could hear the staff warmly greeting customers as they entered, which is positive. It seems like they contribute to the community as a family-friendly dining place, which I appreciated. In an area crowded with eateries around the station, I understand that individual restaurants are struggling with rising costs, but spending over 2,000 yen for just three dishes felt a bit high. I wish they would at least include a salad with the meal.

I had the beef stew topped with demi-glace hamburger for 1,980 yen. Since I ordered alcohol, there was an appetizer fee of 330 yen and a gin apple sour for 440 yen. The restaurant had a dim atmosphere, and the menu was written on a blackboard, which was a bit hard to read because there was a lot of text packed into it. The medium-rare meat was incredibly tender, and the seasoning was perfect, leaving me thoroughly satisfied with the flavor. I even found myself reminiscing about how delicious the hamburger was afterward. It was so good that I think it deserves more recognition.

I had lunch at "Quattro Valli @quattro.valli_chofu," which is about a five-minute walk from Chofu Station. Today, I enjoyed the "Beef Stew Topped Demi-Glace Sauce Hamburger." The cheese on top of the hamburger was incredibly delicious, and I finished it all in no time!

I was looking for a place to have lunch and discovered this restaurant. In addition to the grand menu, there were numerous items written on a blackboard. I ordered the shrimp and mushroom pizza, as well as the Hokkaido beef carpaccio. The pizza is loaded with toppings, and it's so big that each slice has ingredients falling off. The base seems to be tomato, but it felt a bit on the mild side. The beef carpaccio is sliced very thin and is eaten with a sweet sauce that comes with it. You can really appreciate the fresh taste of the beef, and it was delicious. The restaurant has ample seating, from counter seats to tables, making it suitable for solo diners as well as dates.

There are so many daily specials written on the large blackboard that it's even bigger than the grand menu (laughs). Depending on where you sit, you might not be able to see the menu, so we took a photo first to check it out. I love dishes that use seasonal ingredients! There are also various exciting twists on the hamburgers. The happy hour for drinks until 6 PM is appealing as well (besides that, we opened two bottles of wine for three people). I will definitely come again!

It's located a 3-minute walk east from Chofu Station, near the Aeon Cinema, in a little alley that might be a bit tricky to find. The Italian tricolor flag serves as a landmark. I was surprised at first to find that Masuo's Hamburger had become an Italian restaurant, but I was relieved to see that the premium Japanese wagyu hamburger was still on the menu. The deliciousness of the medium-rare hamburger, which melts in your mouth, hasn't changed at all.

I had a Caprese hamburger made with buffalo mozzarella cheese and Amela tomatoes. I could choose between baguette or rice, so I opted for the baguette. The recommended doneness is medium-rare, but I could ask for it to be cooked a bit longer. Maybe next time I'll request it to be cooked a little more. It was a Sunday night, and there were many families dining. There is an old staircase, but I saw families with strollers as well. They also seem to have pasta dishes, so I’d like to try those next time.

A5 Kobe beef hamburger (sauce choice available) with a drink set for 1300 yen, comes with rice, salad, and soup. The hamburger is incredibly fluffy. When you stick a fork in it, the meat sinks down, and a knife easily cuts through it. It’s so tender. This time, I recommend cooking it medium rare, and I chose a demi-glace sauce, both are great choices. The flavor of the meat comes out more with each bite, making it juicy. Because of its fluffiness, it disappears quickly. It’s a hamburger with a unique character. The accompanying salad includes cabbage, red onion, mizuna, and celery, with broccoli and carrots, and the dressing is probably Japanese-style; the celery is quite good. The soup is an onion and green onion consommé. I chose iced oolong tea as my drink, which seems a bit pricey at 300 yen.

A5 Wagyu beef hamburger for 1000 yen, with a fried egg for 100 yen, visited on a weekday at 1:00 PM with two people. It was served about 10 minutes after ordering. Taking the first bite of the hamburger, it's cooked medium-rare and full of juicy flavor—delicious! The side dishes include boiled carrots, broccoli, and a salad. The mushroom soup is also tasty! The free extra serving of rice is a nice bonus. Although I can't eat that much (laughs), this meal for 1000 yen is quite a bargain!

The egg sandwich was incredibly delicious. It had a unique texture that I really enjoyed. I definitely recommend trying it! The pizza was the typical dough you find everywhere. I also had gnocchi, but I forgot to take a picture of it. We had two drinks each, and the total was just under 6,000 yen for the two of us. I visited during lunchtime around 1:30 PM on a holiday. It was a bit tricky to find from the station, but it was located just off a main road in a small alley. Once I entered the restaurant, it took a while for the staff to notice me… I was seated at a high chair by the window. Personally, as someone who is not very tall, I found the high chair a bit uncomfortable. Since I was dining alone, that couldn't be helped. I ordered the hamburger steak with rice and soup set! The hamburger was surprisingly small. It had a very finely ground texture. As the staff explained, it was cooked medium-rare. The taste was average. If there aren't many options around Chofu, I would consider returning!

I visited Quattro Valli in Chofu, which is the former location of Masuo Hamburger, for the first time in a while. I remember that the first time I went a few years ago, shortly after Masuo opened, the food was truly delicious. I thought I could enjoy exceptional hamburgers there, so I returned to relive that experience. I ordered a beer set that included a hamburger and steak, as well as another set with a demi-glace hamburger, both topped with a fried egg. I also ordered a salad. For rice, I requested both large and small portions. The hamburger itself was tasty, but the flavor was a bit bland; adding some salt really made it better. The vegetables on the hot plate were sizzling, so I thought they would be hot, but they turned out to be cold and tasteless. The salad, however, was very delicious! The beer came with a side of marinated pumpkin. The cut steak was quite well-done, which unfortunately brought out some of the meat's strong odor. Since this restaurant emphasizes hamburgers more than steak, I guess that's to be expected! The beer was served in a slim Carlsberg glass, and I added a small bottle of Guinness, bringing my total bill to just under 8,000 yen. I thought that was a bit pricey for lunch, but the staff seemed very nice, and I was also curious about their Italian dishes. I think next time I'd like to try their lunch pasta with drinks. Beef stew topped hamburger for 1980 yen. We visited on Saturday at 12:30 with two people. The restaurant was almost full. Our order was ready in about 15 minutes. Today, they used Miyazaki beef for the topping. First, I took a bite of the hamburger, and it was well-cooked, juicy, and delicious! The Miyazaki beef was tender and lived up to its reputation as A5 wagyu, also very tasty! The side dishes included boiled cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. Compared to the previous Masuo's Masuo Hamburger, the medium-rare hamburger was a bit tough, but the steak was perfectly cooked and tender. However, there was too much boiled cabbage, and the amount of stew topping on the beef stew hamburger was less than expected. Overall, I found both good and bad aspects, making it hard to choose a favorite. I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference!

While searching for a restaurant, I found that the same place is still offering the same menu as before, which made me nostalgic for the old Matsu Hamburger. According to other reviews, there has been a complex journey to get to the current restaurant. I was thrilled to know I could eat it again and excitedly went to visit. The interior hasn’t changed, and the dishes are the same. It has a nice atmosphere. The hamburger options seemed mostly unchanged, but due to rising ingredient costs, the prices had increased significantly. It’s understandable. I chose the Beef Stew Hamburger (¥1,980) and rice (¥220, with free large size). I had been looking forward to this beef stew. I was very satisfied.

I remembered a restaurant where the hamburgers were delicious, so I visited, but to my surprise, there was an Italian flag… It seemed the place had transformed into an Italian restaurant. I had a craving for hamburgers, but since I was there, I decided to go in. The interior was just as it had been before. As I looked at the lunch menu, I found that the top item was "Hamburger!" And it was an A5 black wagyu hamburger for just 1,000 yen! What a coincidence, how wonderful! I added a fried egg for 100 yen and requested a large serving of rice for free, making it 1,100 yen total, which was a great deal. Although the seating appeared to be empty at first glance, all available seats were reserved. More and more customers were coming in, but they all turned back. I was lucky to get a seat today. The previous restaurant was popular, and it seemed that this one was the same. Before the hamburger arrived, I was served soup. It seemed like consomme soup, but when I tasted it, I noticed a slight corn flavor… yet, I couldn't find any kernels… It was a fragrant and delicious consomme soup. Then came the hamburger and rice. The large serving of rice was quite substantial. A perfectly round hamburger was topped with a soft-fried egg. The sides included a salad and glazed carrots. I could choose from several sauces, and I opted for the garlic soy sauce, which was a daily special. I started with the salad to keep it healthy, and the dressing was absolutely delicious! It was so good! Dipping it in the garlic soy sauce made it even more delicious! A fluffy, tender hamburger made of 100% black wagyu for just 1,000 yen is such a steal. Just as I was about to slide the soft yolk off the hamburger, the yolk broke. At that point, I decided to mix it with the hamburger. The rich yolk combined with the flavorful black wagyu made it incredibly satisfying! No matter how you eat it, the black wagyu hamburger is just delicious. I enjoyed a tasty hamburger and stuffed myself with the hearty rice. It was a blissful moment. What began as disappointment over the change in the restaurant turned into joy at discovering a new gem for lunch. A calm Italian restaurant! I enjoyed the wine steak salad and the dessert! I know that's all I need to say, but I have a couple of comments. The menu is on a large blackboard, which shows the chef's passion, but there are so many options that it's hard to choose! (It’s overwhelming and hard to read.) Another thing, I went with a tall friend, A, and the chairs were quite low, so when they sat down properly, they sank down, and they ended up sitting closer to the front of the chair! Maybe adding a cushion would help! It’s a really nice place, so it’s a bit disappointing!

I arrived at 14:20, just in time for lunch, but like a big fool, I accidentally ordered from the grand menu. The A5 Wagyu beef stew with hamburger on top was incredibly tender! The beef stew and hamburger together on a baguette was absolutely delicious! It pairs perfectly with the baguette! I want to eat it again!!!
