On 2019/12/02 (MON) #295, I tried the Stir-Fried Noodles with Thinly Sliced Pork and Vegetables in Thick Sauce for ¥900. This place is a bit tricky, I've been turned away about 5 times in the past because I didn't make it in time during their business hours, but finally made it this time for my first visit! It's a one-man operation, so it takes a while for the food to be served. There were customers before me, so it seemed like it would take even longer. But my schedule after this isn't tight, so I'll wait patiently. And finally, the Stir-Fried Noodles with Thinly Sliced Pork and Vegetables in Thick Sauce arrived, steaming hot. It was consistently delicious from start to finish, and the intense heat throughout was great! They probably forgot to bring the western-style mustard, but I didn't need it with this flavor. I added some chili oil from the table halfway through for a flavor boost! Overall, I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

There are various local gourmet dishes in different regions. In the neighboring city of Sapporo, Otaru City, there is a dish called "Ankake Yakisoba." It originated in the 1960s, with the original shop believed to be "Baigetsu." However, the original shop closed in 2003, along with its branch in 2013. So, I decided to try Ankake Yakisoba at the shop run by Baigetsu's disciple. Upon researching, I discovered that Baigetsu had another famous dish called "Chuka Chirashi." Chuka Chirashi is a dish that became popular in the 1970s, originating from Otaru. But interestingly, there is a place in Sapporo where you can try both Baigetsu's Ankake Yakisoba and Chuka Chirashi. So, I decided to go and try these dishes. The disciple shop of Baigetsu is called "Gyoshu," located near Sapporo Station. The shop turned out to be "Kofuku," a place run by Baigetsu's grand disciple. The menu included various noodle dishes, with one of the highlights being Chuka Chirashi. The restaurant owner seems to respect the traditions of Baigetsu and Gyoshu. I decided to try the Chuka Chirashi, a simple yet flavorful dish served with soup and pickles. The dish was delicious, with a generous portion of pork, bamboo shoots, garlic sprouts, and wood ear mushrooms stir-fried with egg over rice. The flavors were perfect, and the portion size was satisfying. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to trying more dishes from Baigetsu and Gyoshu in the future.

It was a hot day, so I wanted to eat cold noodles. I added extra chili oil to the sweet and spicy meat miso. It was delicious!

There was a diner called Ginsei Shokudo along the street to the north. I ordered a large serving of Chinese-style chicken curry for lunch. The curry at this Chinese restaurant is unique, with a strong curry flavor similar to Tianjin rice curry. It may sound cheap when described this way, but the taste is surprisingly delicious. It is full of ingredients and has a spicy kick, and the large serving of rice goes down quickly. In addition to curry, they also offer Chinese set meals and daily specials, making it a convenient restaurant at the end of the Satsueki North Exit area. The mapo tofu at the table next to me also looked delicious.

I paid 800 yen for the Chinese chirashi. It was my first time visiting this place. The owner was running the restaurant alone, and it seemed tough. The Chinese chirashi I had was fluffy with eggs, wood ear mushrooms, vegetables, meat, and slightly soft rice, making it quite filling. It would be appreciated by Hokkaido University students and prep school students. I really enjoyed it.

Near Sapporo Station West Exit, a casual Chinese restaurant. Upon opening the door, an electronic voice welcomes (or bids farewell). By 1 pm, lunch sets were already sold out. Tanmen for 750 yen, and a regular portion of rice for 200 yen. The noodles were soft and curly, with a nice crunch from the stir-fried vegetables. The vegetable soup had a sweet vegetable flavor, not too strong. As a casual Chinese restaurant, there were neither bonus points nor deductions. However, the portion size was average, and the soft rice for 200 yen seemed pricey. The lack of "heat" typical of such restaurants made me deduct points. Perhaps the owner's attitude had been affected by the rude customers? I found myself imagining this based on the notice and the owner's demeanor.

☆LP☆Visited for lunch on a weekday. No parking lot available, so had to park at the coin parking across the street. Upon entering, saw many salarymen dining. The interior was dimly lit and didn't have much of a Chinese vibe, more like a traditional Japanese meal place. Ordered the daily specials "Hoi Kor Lo Set Meal" and "Chinese-style Chicken Curry". First to arrive was the Hoi Kor Lo. It came with salad, soup, and a small portion of mapo tofu. The seasoning was strong and oily, with a bit lacking in meat, but the miso flavor made the rice go down smoothly. The Chicken Curry had a decent portion size. Might be a bit too heavy for women? The onions stood out, and there seemed to be doubanjiang in it, as my tongue tingled a bit as I continued eating. The thick sauce coated the rice well, and the large chicken pieces were generous. It was a unique curry experience that I've never had before. The menu seemed to have variations in portion sizes, but it seemed popular among the salarymen. Keep up the good work, peaceful Chinese restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

When searching for ramen around Sapporo Station, I came across this place. It's a Chinese restaurant and their specialty seems to be "Tanmen." I wasn't really in the mood for ramen today, but since it's "Tanmen," I decided to give it a try! The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from my office, and the place was more than half empty. I sat at a table for two and ordered the "Tanmen." Most people around me seemed to be eating set meals. Soon, the "Tanmen" arrived. It looked great with lots of vegetables! The soup had a light taste with plenty of vegetable flavor, and the slightly burnt taste of the pork and shrimp added a nice touch. The medium-thick curly noodles were well coated with the light soup and tasted delicious. "Tanmen" isn't something I eat often, so I haven't had much experience with it. I'll try it at a different restaurant next time. Well, was it a good decision or a bad one? (laughs) Thanks for the meal!

When I came before, the restaurant was reserved for a banquet, but this time it was fine. I enjoyed the Chinese chirashi and shrimp chili. I asked about the current state of "Upside Down Fortune" and apparently it means forgetting about regrets and waiting for good luck. I saw the person next to me eating that crispy fried noodles with sauce on top, I'll try that next time!

In October, on the last Thursday of the month, I decided to try out a popular Chinese restaurant called "Koufuku" for lunch. The restaurant was bustling with customers, mostly office workers and laborers on their lunch break. I ordered a soy sauce ramen and rice to make it a meal set. The atmosphere was simple and nostalgic, and the ramen tasted delicious, reminding me of the good old days. I sprinkled some pepper on top, which added a nice kick to the flavor. Overall, it was a satisfying and filling meal, perfect for a quick lunch break.

I remember visiting a few times but couldn't get in because they were temporarily closed. Today, they are open for business. The sight of the ankake yakisoba flag catches my eye. The menu includes salt and soy sauce ramen for 600 yen, and miso ramen for 700 yen. Other options include char siu men, Cantonese noodles, chāmen, and gomoku ankake age men, each priced at 750 yen. Donburi dishes include Chinese chirashi, Tenshin don, Chinese don, and mapo don. The daily special varies in price based on the size of the rice. Today's special is pork and eggplant miso stir-fry. I usually order chāmen, but recently when "tanmen" is on the menu, I have been ordering that. Tanmen costs 650 yen and is filled with plenty of cabbage and bean sprouts. There is a modest amount of pork and wood ear mushrooms. The slightly thickened soup with a perfect amount of salt is delightful. It may seem a bit lacking at first, but as you eat, your taste buds adjust. It has a creamy white broth finish. The slight oiliness from stir-frying the vegetables may be a bit off-putting. The noodles have a nice firm texture. I added some black pepper for extra flavor halfway through. In the end, I finished every last drop. Compared to the tanmen I had at Gomataro before, this place's version is closer to my ideal. Next time, I want to try the chāmen. (28.8) 3.6 R68

On March 6, 2013, I visited "Koufuku" for the first time in a while. It is located near my workplace, but I usually get bento and don't have the chance to visit. I went with some colleagues from work. During lunchtime, the place was almost full of salarymen. I ordered the Cantonese ramen for 650 yen. It had vegetables, meat, and quail eggs on top of the noodles, which provided a satisfying meal. The taste was quite delicious. The portion was also generous, and I felt full after finishing it. However, the taste was a bit strong and salty.

Menu: Daily lunch special (700 yen) "Kofuku" is located about a 5-minute walk from Sapporo Station North Exit. There is no parking lot. The interior of the restaurant feels a bit dim, but it is clean. In addition to regular tables, there seems to be a sunken banquet hall as well? As soon as you enter, the proprietress? enthusiastically informs you that today's special is "Stir-fried pork slices with cabbage and bell peppers." Since the lunch special changes daily, I quickly placed my order. Other menu items include mapo tofu rice bowl and ramen. The daily special includes the main dish, cabbage salad, Chinese soup, a small dish (cold tofu), and pickles. The flavors are authentic Chinese, not too heavy, and even with a generous amount of oil, it doesn't feel greasy and remains delicious until the end. The vegetables were also fresh and crunchy. I would like to visit for dinner as well, as it seems like the menu expands in the evening.

Mouthful... In China, enjoying delicious food is referred to as "口福" (kǒufú). I stopped by this restaurant without knowing if they were aware of the meaning. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the staff exclaimed, "Today's set meal is sweet and spicy stir-fried pork and cabbage." I was surprised. I had intended to order the daily special set meal, but I wanted to see the menu first. "Y-yes, I'll have that." They asked if I wanted the rice in regular or small size. I nervously replied, "Regular, please." Sweet and spicy stir-fried pork and cabbage? Is that like twice-cooked pork? I haven't been to a Chinese restaurant much, so maybe it's a dish I've never tried before. The food arrived. It seemed like a regular twice-cooked pork... The rice was a generous "regular" size. The taste was decent. The pork and cabbage were well stir-fried. Despite the amount of rice, it felt just right with the strong flavor of the dish. My stomach was satisfied. One step closer to food coma... I'm curious about the next daily special menu. You can see the kitchen from the table seats. The stainless steel walls are clean and don't show any visible dirt. It's reassuring for diners to see this, which is also a form of service. It's just the way it should be. I couldn't find the restaurant's phone number. For now, it's listed as "unavailable" as we are currently investigating. The map shows the location accurately.

I used it for lunch. I had the chashu ramen. It was reasonable at 750 yen. It had the typical ramen feel, and the bowl had a nice atmosphere. The chashu was thick and very delicious. The kitchen seemed to be run by the manager alone, so it took a little time from ordering to serving. Be careful if you're in a hurry. It's about a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to go again.
